OK, so first people were complaining about logging out from combat. Devs implemented log out timer. Now you are complaining that there is a log out timer. Magnificent. But you're somehow right, it should be possible to stop the timer if threat appears and get back to game, pretty much as what DayZ Mod has. But let me tell you something guys. In my 136h history of DayZ SA, I have never, ever been killed while logging out. I always managed to find secure place. So well, either I'm luck or some people suck at this game.

I was thinking about switching to crossbow, but there are two reasons I won't do it JUST NOW: 1) Hard time finding bolts and quivers 2) Not able to take out bolts from bodies

Frankly, I don't see the difference. People play DayZ because they want survival. Deathmatching is caused by fear, by threat... which is part of survival aspect. Yes, I do hate KoS-ing, but seperate gamemods won't change a thing. What we need is a) fixing loot tables so that guns and, most of all, ammo is scarce; b ) randomized spawnpoints. It shouldn't be coastline only, but even more inland.

You're right in a way, but then again, if you don't aim for long-time character's life, we will have plenty of KoS and constant suicides, because you have nothing to loose except for that fancy flatcap and a flashlight. Of course it's your experience, not character's that counts, but if it were you, you would learn something. You, as a player, cannot learn for your character. Because of this, I think there should be some minor progression involved so that our avatar's life gets some meaning. And here we are again at a big problem of dayz - guns and ammunition are more popular then food or clothes. But it's an alpha of course, so it needs to be tested thoroughly. Once everything works as it should, ammunition should be really rare (like "I'm glad to have this 10 bullets for my SKS" rare). This way certain aspects of your character's development won't be grindable and you will value it's life.

Aim your white dot slightly above head, should work for pretty much every weapon. But don't bother using shit like knives or wrenches for too long. You want to look for pitchforks, baseball bats and axes. As to eveding, it depends on server. Sometimes zombies are super calm and won't agro. Sometimes, they agro from miles away. Best tactic is to crouch or prone behind them in a fair distance, say 10-15m. If they happen to agro and you can't fight, just run. You should loose them eventually. Also, zombies sometimes fall from hills and die, so try exploiting that. As far as I know, clouds trick doesn't really work. Try to you sun or coastlines. -

Guys guys guys... exploiting is using BUGS to bypass the way game was meant to be played. Gamma settings are not bugs, but standard feature. What DayZ needs is not removing so called "gamma cheat" but a) adding variety of WORKING light sources and b) making nights playable. Frankly, I don't give a damn if you call having your screen all black a realistic night. I want to see something at night and use light sources for details. So far, I can't do that no matter how high I set my gamma or brightness settings. -
1. Aim for the head (or even slightly above) 2. Never stand in one place. I always run around a zombie, they hardly ever hit me (like 5% of the time)

But remember, that Breaking Point is for Arma 3, original DayZ mod (and mods of this mod) is for Arma 2

I agree that spawn points need to be randomized all over the map. It's just annoying to always spawn in the same place (and see a cementary in Solnichny). And I don't care if some places are close to military loot or not. You can find weapons easily enough already.. But what we also need is fixing loot table, so that we don't find dozens of ammo packs. If ammo is rare enough, spawning next to military loot area will make no problem, because you will find a single mag for M4 at best. Good luck with doing a KOS genocide with that.

M4 is a bit stronger, fast shooting and more ammo in magazine ,but mags are kinda rare (airfield mainly) SKS is still rather strong, shoots relatively fast, good for short range combat and middle-range sniping with PU scope (which are popular) and it's uber easy to find ammo.

There is something weird going on with zombies recently. I often go on servers only to find cities streets totally empty, not a single zombie. Other times, there are zombies, but they are ultra-calm. You can sprint right behind them and they won't even notice. Yesterday I managed to crouch 10 meters away from zombies face and it didn't even wink...

If you have them befriended on steam, you can see where your friends are playing.

They are adding cities at north part of map, but it doesn't mean shit as long as players keep spawning around Elektro or Berezino. We need in-land spawns for new large cities to make sense.

I will only address the priority issue now: For f*cks sake, when will you guys understand, that DayZ is NOT created by a single dev, who needs to devote time to certain areas of development? They have multiple teams, some for core development, some for graphics, some for sounds, some for items or mechanics... and they all work simultaneously. You guys would stop playing DayZ months ago if small features and new items weren't added in the meantime of fixing bugs (which takes plenty of time) -

Yeah, but whatever strategy you apply, melee weapons suck hard in DayZ. Only weapons that are worth carrying are hoes, splitting axe and fireaxe. I don't get it why smashing zombies head with a wrench hardly deals any dmg. -
How does it solve anything? We have a timer right now (meaning your character stays in game).

I would modify your idea. Make it so every server restart there are several suitcases or bags hidden on the map (in solo standing houses, barns or shacks) and you can find notes with clues, eg. "barn NE of Gorka" and it would contain some food, medical supplies and ammunition. Pretty much something like heli crash but needing more effort to find. Of course I'd love to see generic heli crashes too ;P

Yo folks, different stuff has been said in this topic but I'd love if someone could confirm if it's a glitch or a feature, that you cannot loot your own body anymore? I've experienced this several times recently, that I couldn't target it and open and I don't know if enemies always hide it or what?
