Shot dead in cold blood in NEAF

You sir are doing a service for all of us like you. Though for the sake of being PC, "OCD" is probably a better term than "autism", but I am not a psychologist.
  2. Maybe my mic doesnt work. Ive been alive for 3 separate game sessions on my current life, making my way from elektro currently up to Polana on a server that typically has 25-35 players. I ran into another new spawn with a bit more gear in Elektro, and he just ran off after I surrendered but he didnt speak. By the time I got to polana I have plenty of food, water, medical supplies, 7.62 ammo, 35 slot pack, and a few camo bits. I even have a fnx45, but no mags or ammo for it. I stick to the woods mostly, but bump into another player in Polana. I see him before he sees me, and I can see no firearm. I say hello, and we look at each other a bit. I announce that I am friendly and will keep out of his way. I have a baseball bat, and the handgun is in a chest holster but still no way to shoot it. No response from the guy, other than he pulls out an ax and runs at me. I get hit once but make it out of town and lose him. How often do you guys encounter another player outside of the coastal cities? how often do you exchange words?
  3. I kept telling friends about what kinds of things you can do/experience in DayZ, and after telling a story a few times I thought it made more sense to just write them out in a blog and send people the link. Its pretty fun recapping the zany hi-jinks that go on. Check it out, maybe you can relate! http://primedayz.blogspot.com/ EDIT: Figured I would copy/paste a story here so you would get an idea of what my posts are like

    Zombie AI and melee

I guess I will figure it out eventually, but if you dont have a gun whats the best way to deal with a pursuing zombie. Sometimes it seems like if I break line of sight, I can escape them, but sometimes not. I have whacked them a few times, but always felt like it wasnt worth the effort. What are your takes on how the Z's work?
  6. I spent the first 15 minutes fiddling with keybindings and graphics. Once I started out, I headed into the town I spawned by looking for water as I was already thirsty. I should have taken the dead bodies wearing the same noob things I had on as a warning. Within 10 minutes I was on my knees with my flashlight with 3 armed players badgering me and eventually executing me. Good game guys. I respawned on another server, and was able to find food, water, a knit hat, and a sweatshirt and hunting pants that held a little more. Perhaps the best prize I found was a box of sugary cereal inside of a pig farm or cow dairy or something. I'll take it. I see in the server browser there are PVE servers and NO BANDITS and whatnot. I actually dont want that, but I also dont want to be killed by sociopaths while the only thing on my person is a flashlight with no batteries. Any recommendations on more moderate places to play?

    Speach after death.

So you can hear players speaking after you are dead. If you speak can they hear you?

Had my first DayZ experiences yesterday

But thats just my point! I do want to encounter players once in a while. That seems like a huge part of the game. I guess I was hoping for at least some fun RP and interaction. Not just told to kneel and get shot.

Had my first DayZ experiences yesterday

I did find a map in game. I have yet to work out where I am on it. The coast was not immediately visible where I spawned. I found a sign in town with names and pointing in directions but I just didnt have time to work it out yet. Im trying to avoid using the interweb to make it easier, as that doesnt seem in the spirit of the game. Well aware of what you say by PVE. I can understand holding up players with something of value, I just dont get the excitement of killing new spawns. Apparently some people do like that.
