    you need ammo for it too, unfortunately. from my experience, jails/police stations (i mean the same building type with this) are the best places to find both M4 and ammo for it, simply because those buildings can be found in safer places than just airfields.

    how is it even remotely possible for the game to really KNOW wether you pulled the trigger for fun or for self-protection? too many variables. it's impossible.

    what? aren't less powerful wepons supposed to be more common? anyway, you can pop zeds with FNX. it's mildly entertaining. having ragdoll physics on them would make it moderately entertaining.

    no, because i don't even know what difference it makes if it's pristine or badly damaged. or even ruined. scopes are the only thing where i've seen an actual difference. when your backpack is shot and ruined, it should spill all it's content to the ground. same thing with anything that has "slots". i thought that ruined items are unusable, but nope.

    yeah. or make them attack more precisely and aggressively. as it stands, they are pretty harmless. but yeah, they are pretty much just placeholders at this point. best possible melee combat would be combination of well-timed evasive moves (even just tapping one button while strafing resulting in one quicker sidestep, keeping it simple. no somersault-acrobacy) and well-timed attacks, but i'm not sure how much of that is possible with this game engine. currently melee combat lacks a great deal of precision and feel. ultimately, zeds should be dangerous enough that it would make sense to spend bullets to them in some situations (indoors mainly). e: wait... didn't Rocket have some melee combat plans, or am i thinking some totally different game?

  9. it's a classic "strategy" from Quake era. you repeatedly hit space to jump so your character is harder to hit, while being able to aim and shoot at the same time. haven't seen it since the 90's, and definetly not in DayZ. in most modern shooters you simply can't do it anymore. i guess someone mixed it with server hopping.
  10. my first thought from the topic name; i'm looting in a house -> some other guy wanders in -> i kick a stool sending it flying at the guys face -> wanderer dead yeah, physics. this game needs more physics.
  11. i recently shot a guy wearing blue t-shirt (=bandit). then another one at Elektro wearing a backpack (=bandit).

    well he did pull he's magnum out, so he's mistake. if he had no bullets on him, he could've had better chance NOT pulling it out.

    the only reason why slow zombies work is because of confined space and scripted events (Resident Evils). doesn't work so well in DayZ's open world.

    it's not a certain one-hit-bleed, but it should be. there's shirts everywhere that you can rip to rags. zombies are simply no threat at the moment, since you can run faster than them, and they give up the chase very quickly. too easy to win even with fists.
  15. i agree. people are taking this game too seriously at this point. it's an alpha for testing purposes. exploits can only be fixed as they are found and abused. i for one, would not like to waste my time playing this "legitly" at this point, since there are so much killer-bugs in this game ready to slap a big fat ALPHA-sticker to your face. happened too many times. i'm liking where this game is headed, but for now, i'm just fooling around in it.

    i hope there would be fair amount of vehicles, so it would make the travelling less tedious. vehicles will still be a bad choice to ride into a battle with, since you are then so easily spotted and sniped with a Mosin. basicly lots of crappy civilian vehicles, not so much military vehicles that will act like moving fortresses.
  18. most annoying? you are minding your own business running in the calming meadows of Chernarus, admiring the beautiful scenery with birds singing, butterflies flying, and sun shining softly through your helmet visor, and suddenly... BAM You are dead. I guess i got Mosin'd. from total feeling of calmness to an ultra-WTFRAGE in a split second. e: totally my fault, though. i shouldn't be running around like a careless baby bambi.

    nope. people should just understand the deal with early access games. many of them don't; they think they paid $30 for an earlly alpha build. NO YOU DID NOT. you funded the project, and you bought the final product. as a BONUS, you get to try a work-in-progress version of the game.

    good post. i never played the original mod, and after grabbing the early access to SA i didn't expect much yet because of all the warnings. After a couple of hours in, i was thinking "omg... i can't believe a game like this exists. unbelievable." so yeah. i'm hooked. i'm extremely glad i bought it at this point, since i wanna follow the development step by step, because this game is sitting at the top of my most-anticipated-list.

    yeah... shit happens often in early builds such as this. my usual reaction to similiar things: "WHAT THE F....?!?!?!? OK! ok.... well.... yeah... cool. alright.... it's alpha it's alpha it's alpha it's alpha.... *enter zen-mode*" it's annoying cos you have sometimes spent many hours on the character, but then again, you should expect such things to happen at this point. that's another reason why i often go rampage-mode when i'm geared; you might suddenly lose everything, so why not. i have lost my multi-hour character to bugs so often, that i feel like it's not worth trying to make your survival-records at this point. explore, try stuff, shoot stuff.

" Yeah, because saying "i'm friendly" makes you guaranteed trustworthy friend. lol. i've been attacked dozens of times by i'm-friendly-bambies.
  24. it was fun for me as a new player. maybe your friends should play something else. also, it was much more playable than what those Steam warnings let me to believe, but it seems you were clearly expecting a much more complete experience.
