Machete will get buffed it seems Wolves: Yeah, but well you know...Authenticity and realism in video games (even that ones that want to reach a certain level of authenticity) is always a thing of consideration ;) ...i think it's better if packs of wolves are a danger as additional predators (especially since i don't get my infected apes in the woods :( ) than sticking to the "wolves are no danger to humans in most cases" authenticity - just my opinion. Dogs: Really want to see this. Can I tell my dog to attack somebody? Can i tell him to search for things (fruits...things he could smell) in an area and apport it? Hopefully the next streams give us some more answers or ideas from the devs on this, even if it may be not so close to implementation ;) Beards: Since there will be a greater variety in face customization and beards will not "grow" >:( <_< :( I think that beards will come in character creation. -

The only way that tanks could be implemented is, when a) they are not overpowered b) there is something that players can do against it c) tanks need immense amounts of fuel and parts d)ammo is so rare that it's unbearable (like 1 shot spawns every 24 hours on one of 50 servers ;)) That way of world interaction (blowing up walls etc.) will not happen, but player-made barricades, barrciaded houses etc. (all server-side persistent) will come, all they can also be destroyed by players. The ability of players to lock doors was also mentioned, other players can smash them in, zombies pile up against until they break (that's at least the plan^^)...so...somehow destructible, but not the way you suggested. -
Well...there will be no progressbar that is visible to the player, but in the last Q&A stream with rocket he mentioned this: So...yeah, in some way, this suggestion will come. Not for shooting I guess, but what was mentioned in context of that quote qwas repairing (e.g. if you have repaired enough "badly damaged" clothes with a sewing kit you can repair also "ruined" ones, which is impossible otherwise. Maybe this starts at the top and goes down (like: repair enough "worn" to be able to repair "damaged", repair enough damaged to be able to repair badly damaged etc.), the same thing with weapons. Yeah, 144p and terrible audio (until minute 20 or so...maybe even 30...) but lots of information - typical Dean: totally open at everything that comes to his mind, from telling people they should try Banished and Project Zomboid and that he would like to meet up with the creators of PZ and Rust to exchange ideas up to quotes like: "Where are you? At the gas station?...I KNOW that somewhere here is a gas station, I made this game! But I can't find it!" or "Zombie, Zombie! Who said there are no Zombies in this game?" or (Gandalflike) "I have no memory of this place..." I did not watch it (only sometimes to get a information or context), just listen because I couldn't stand the resolution. Played Banished instead muted on one monitor, typed on notepad my notes to the stream on the other monitor ;) -

Don't tell people what they want. That's rude. And a stable branch of an Alpha is...looks to his left....looks to his right....*whispers* still Alpha. Nope. Well in some point youa re right here, because Dean said earlier that there will be less updates from experimental to stable (and I hear the whining begin...) and more from internal to experimental which stay there longer. To conclude: You can't read, because otherwise you would have seen the other "realism" threads on the freakin first page. You can't search, because otherwise you would have found even more threads concerning this topic. You said you read the Disclaimer for the Alpha, but you come here and cry exactly about the exact thing that was said before and written there. You want the game made your way. And you expect somebody to be nice? ...wow.

Yes, finding an old musket (that still works...) would be more unrealistic than finding a pristine M4 I guess. And crafting yourself...well, I doubt that you could craft a musket that could hit anyone within a resonable amount of time. But it would be fun XD O.o didn't you have chemistry at school? At least we learned it, and it's so simple that I can remember it now: Salpeter, coal and sulfur mixed something like 8-1-1...I would have to try, but I'm pretty sure I'd find the right mixture within one day again (well maybe more to find a mixture that would not explode in my face...but well...be careful XD). All of these things you can find in nature (well, salpeter ideally below a barn or something while sulfur can be got from pyrite ;)) or maybe stored somewhere (coal) and also, don't forget: -
As I said..I dunno, didn't care to count tbh...more than once: Sniping: part of the game. Camping: part of the game. KoS: part of the game (no matter if the OP was doing it or not)....and that from a guy that doesn't KoS, doesn't camp and doesn't snipe (because for some weird reason I can hit everything with my shotgun but not a barn from 5m with a mosin -.-) But: Using exploits and hacks: Not part of the game, because it gives an unfair advantage. So one more time: Please go to the DayZ-bug report on http://feedback.dayzgame.com, search for issue 0008589, scroll down to the comments unil you see a youtube link from a guy named Anon13, click it and...well, is it your issue? vote it up. And if you want to get angry, read the youtube comments to that video.

Edit: Reading the comments on youtube to the vid in the comments of the issue (that from Anon13)...makes me somehow angry...

Ok, haven't heard that before from you, I'll take the "bragging" back (or substitute it with "baggins" if you want^^) - but still 1 person per two hours ingame is far more than I kill...well I don't KoS ;) i have naround 90hours and have killed...hm...10persons, maybe even less^^ But I also don't die that often...most of the guys I meet are friendly for some weird reason^^ AK discussion (you started it^^): Damn that thing JUMPS like a freak in your hands as soon as you LOOK at the trigger. Yeah, the M4 jams easy (I've heard. never shot with one) but the AK...if you don't hit with the first bullet you're screwed big time. And I didn't even start about the noise that this indestructible scrapmetal monster makes... -

Yeah, don't worry mate, I fell for that trick myself sometimes: you thought you searched the forum, but in fact you searched a thread with 4 posts...^^ And yeah, there is a lot of crying - that's why I didn't mean to cry, so i normally add an answer AND tell that the topic has been discussed ;) Also totally right from my experience. E.g.: I know, that some threads in New Player (and also general) discussion that are like "Where is my gear" are two problems: Servers not connected to the main hive & they combat logged and did not knew about the timer. Both things discussed over and over and then...gone, to the unknown depths of page 3 and beyond that no human eye can reach. And so the next thread with "Where is my gun" pops up...Same with nearly every topic -.- And yeah, the best suggestions/discussions/information get lost that way - 10 new threads about KoS, a trollthread, a bragthread about a kill, complaints about a bug and why isn't fixed etc. and about half of the people won't see these threads. And some hours later...they are gone. That's why I am picky about not using the damn search function^^ Regarding Bows: I am an archer myself shooting bare bow...and no, i don't want to tell you how hard it would be to hit a fast moving target 50 metres away in the head (close to impossible) or how hard it would be to actually MAKE a bow (Not something that shoots a stick 20 metres and wouldn't be able to hurt a rabbits fur) - that's TOO realistic for a game (well maybe if its an extreme Bowcraft+archery simulator, but not even I would want to play something like that^^). So I'm happy if you can craft a simple Selfbow and actually wound or even kill people with it - as long as you can't craft a 9mm and ammo out of 9 metalbars... @Demoth: There is no "MMO"-style game where only skill counts afaik. Or can you think of any game with a persistant character and lootable items where that is the case? @Wheunis: Ok, that's like the 50th bragging post from you. I want a stream from you. Either you are that good and then I subscribe and have fun watching or you just run your mouth and I'll have fun making fun out of you ;) And an AK-47 is NOT superior to an M4..well maybe because you can't destroy it so easy, but every other comparism (if you shoot a greater distance than 20 metres...) it would lose afaik. I know, not in video games. -

Yeah absolutely no results for that term. And why did I write that he might use the search function? Because every 2-3 days you can witness a nice circle here: The same topics get 2-3 threads disappear on page 3 and the whole fun starts over with the same arguments, the same discussion and the same flaming. It's like a bad version of Groundhog day...like this discussion. Hm. Maybe the fact I could answer his question....because I read them? And what did you write in this thread now? Did you answer a question? Hm...no. Did you say something about the topic? Hm...no. Did you say something that hasn't said before in this thread? hm....no. I didn't want to act like a mod, and saying he could search first and open a new thread afterwards is not a mod-only thing i thought... And to say that you wish that people would stop QQing in a post that is...well only QQing is kinda ironic. So from your point of view it is perfectly ok to tell me what I should do and should not do, but break your own rules...yeah. And now I am QQing about you QQing that I QQed (which, in all honesty, I didn't do. I answered his question and told him that there is a search function...maybe a little bit too rude.), so the circle of QQ is finished. Here are some extra Qs for that case. -

I wish people would read the announcments, use the search function, stop making threads to topics that are discussed 500 times and could stop war IRL. But, your wish may be granted, as rocket stated, that after improvised weapons (throwing, bows, spears) are inducted, all military-stly weapons will be super-rare. They have to be common now, so that they can be tested by us, so every new weapon will spawn everywhere to make sure that enough people run around with it and try everything.
