How to remove forum account?
extremistcouch replied to extremistcouch's topic in New Player Discussion
That way I would leave a trail of unused forum accounts that will be vunerable to abuse over a certain amount of time, is it possible to delete it for security purposes? Maybe an exception? -
How to remove forum account?
extremistcouch replied to extremistcouch's topic in New Player Discussion
Because I don't want to use it anymore, why is it not possible? -
How can I remove my account?

Is there an option/hint somewhere to show or see how long a server has been up after a restart? This will help me decide which server to join as I don't want to end up running trough places all the time that already have been looted ;) Thanks in advance ^^

I think for a chance on better/more weapons a visit to a military base/airfield will not hurt much, It's worth a shot, play careful and carry at least a fire axe.

Reduce The Common Lag In Dayz [Tutorial]
extremistcouch replied to Sanitöter's topic in General Discussion
I will test this out tonight, maybe someone can confirm this works in the meantime ;) Can you explain how this works and why this resolves the issue? Edit: Ok I have looked up some info ;] The TCP no delay parameter: The tcp no delay parameter controls TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) packet batching. The default value is 1, which means that TCP packets are not batched. TCP normally batches small logical packets into single larger physical packets (by briefly delaying packets) fill physical network frames with as much data as possible. This is intended to improve network throughput in terminal emulation environments where there are mostly keystrokes being sent across the network. However, applications that use small TDS (Tabular Data Stream) packets may benefit from disabling TCP packet batching. To disable TCP packet batching, set tcp no delay to 1. For the ACK frequency: http://forums.hexus.net/networking-broadband/194666-tcpackfrequency-gaming-latency-reducer.html So if I understand this correctly it will send smaller packets and with no delay, meaning that less data will be in each packet and thus lowers latency and ping, am I correct? -
Lack Of Points Of Interest (Central Map Part)

And why? This post is not constructive at all. -
Lack Of Points Of Interest (Central Map Part)
extremistcouch replied to donotlog's topic in Suggestions
I think some small towns and cities wouldn't be too bad in those areas you mention, but if I remember correctly this will be added later into the game :) -
Scarcity of the current loot system is CAUSED by server hopping, Loot respawns can not be implemented at this stage (if it ever will) because it's unclear what the affect of the upcoming changes will be on the amount of loot in servers, if server hopping is fixed I suspect that loot will me more widely available in the common places people go like Balota. Also bare in mind that there IS a combat log fix upcoming with a 30 seconds timeout counter upon logout as mentioned by Rocket.

M4 in your hands and Mosin on your back, or visa versa?

did i just triple posted? sorry -
M4 in your hands and Mosin on your back, or visa versa?
extremistcouch replied to medium00rare's topic in General Discussion
I would say it depends on the type of area you are in, if you are in the city you can expect close combat encounters making the m4 the best choice. if you are closing in on a city or are out there in the open then mosin is generally the better choice. -
