you are able to stand sit lay down, but not moving in a direction. If they added bullets, i probably wouldn't tell people to stop either, I would just knock them out, take their weapon and tell them they have to find it lol, then id loot the town and leave. As a player, I would rather get knocked out by a rubber bullet and have someone take a bunch of my shit, then die and have to run back to whatever direction i was going I think it shouldn't make the player bleed, but they should lose blood and be knocked out for a couple minutes

A pistol is a weapon, but it is a specific weapon. Using the word weapon generalizes what I am talking about and includes some weapons I am not talking about For your second point, that is exactly what I think should happen, the frequency and places outside of military bases that all the rifles spawn at, in my opinion should be replaced with pistol spawns and all the places pistols spawn at right now, should be replaced with the rifle spawns. That alone would increase the ratio of pistols to rifles. So what I am saying is 1. make pistol spawns as common and rifle spawns currently are 2. make rifle spawns as common as pistol spawns are currently (which isn't crazy rare, but not incredibly common either). Maybe even make them a little less common than that. 3. spawn mags either in the pistol or in the same vicinity, both full or empty mags (sometimes even without a mag-rare case)

See now it's just clear to me that you do not understand the game and probably die quite a bit, which I'm sure is where this tinge of anger is coming from. The reason people tell you to stop is not because they're being stupid(although sometimes they are), it is because any player that is unknown and sees you can be a threat and MUST be treated as a threat. When you just ignore someone you have seen first, usually when they see you back, they will stalk you and try to take you out. By holding them up, taking their ammo or weapon etc, you're disabling them from hurting you. Now, people do tend to do this the wrong way or sometimes with the wrong intentions, and they usually end up dying cause they're dumb. As far as the situation on the stairs goes, I doubt you were in that situation because people rarely have the patience to put someone in that situation and if you were and you ran away without being shot, it was either because the person decided not to shoot you, they didn't have ammo, or they were some 12 year old with no mouse control. It's not hard to shoot someone on the stairs with a shotgun.... Also, people who hit the respawn button that quick are usually poor sports...

It would be rad if machetes could do something like that in game. I think they still plan on modifying melee. I am almost certain they are going to put in different damage types at some point (blunt/piercing/ballistic), the damage that the machete does right now is definitely not anywhere close to being finished. With pre-alpha games, they just need to continuously add in the content they want in game, and modify it once everything they want is added in, so it will probably be a little while before they work on the machete.

I said pistols, not weapons. All I'm saying, is that people with weapons they are shooting are shooting rifles because they're easy to get equipped with, instead of having high powered rifles they're sniping people with, wouldn't it be easier to deal with if they're shooting pistols. It takes quite a few bullets to drop someone with a pistol right now, that would even give people with melee weapons a chance to kill the shooter without being killed Also, why couldn't the mags spawn without ammo?
-
fuck that, nope. and i really didnt want to bump this thread, so hopefully no one else will in saying nope
-
The bullet might go through, but it wouldn't hit the person behind as hard. So in a way, it would still help protect..
-
eh, i wouldn't be opposed, but I think it should take up the same slot as a backpack, and while it is equipped, it should be two handed. Would be interesting to run around with a riot shield on your back, no one would be able to shoot you in the back lol
-
Ya, then I'm the guy that runs over to your dead corps and tells you you should have stopped because all I was gonna do was check your backpack in case you have something to kill me with and maybe put some beans in there for you, but gj.... Obviously, if your in the right position to escape, you're gonna do it, but you're a dead idiot if you try to escape in a situation that's easy to kill you from. Like I would hope to god you wouldn't try anything while you're on some stair or in a hallway with some dude pointing a sawed off at you.... Also, its a hell of a lot more fun when there's player interactions and stuff from being a prisoner, I always stop if I am in a bad spot, it's always fun to find out what they do lol. Who knows, you could even find a friend Basically, I'm saying rubber bullets are a good idea for people like you who I would otherwise have to kill for being unintelligent
-
I actually like this idea, most people are too stupid to actually listen to you when you tell them to stop moving and drop their gun, then your forced to kill. This is a great way to force them to stop moving without having to kill them. Good idea man

well for starters, finding a mag for the M4 is easier then finding an M4, usually ill have like 3 mags in my bag with optics and M4 parts to switch out before I have an M4 Also, I was talking about pistols because mags for them are less common than mags for an m4 also. ALSO, I talked about pistols and not the M4 because in my opinion, it should be easier to find a pistol and mag than and SKS/Mosin/Blazer. Now, another thing about those guns, is that they don't require clips, but they're easy to find, which is why people are more likely to be running around with those loaded rifles than a pistol... Most people that own a gun have their mags AT LEAST in the same room as the gun. Growing up, my dad kept his gun in a bag in the closet, the same mags rubber banded together and ammo kept in a locked box, still in the same bag, which is similar to how MOST people have their guns. other ways would be clips out of the gun, but loaded in case of emergency, etc, but obviously still in the same vicinity, because what the fuck is the point of owning a gun if u have your gun in your home, but your mags somewhere else.... The reason I said mag in the gun, with or without ammo in the mag, is because of the circumstance. Zombie apocalypse, people who own guns, most likely loaded them and used them or prepared themselves to use them before being killed or running off or somehow losing their weapon. If u just camp around military bases constantly and probably hop servers to freshly restarted ones, then sure, you'll find some mags. The fact that you have to camp military bases for civ. weapon clips seems ridiculous though. By the time you find mags, you already have a loaded M4 or Mosin or SKS too, which is the gun your going to use first. Pistols should be easier to get equipped with than those rifles. Also, there would be a hell of a lot less people camping out those military bases, if those civ. pistols and mags spawn in other places besides military bases. I get that if you look hard enough, you can find the mags, but my point is that the player shouldn't have to, it should be easier to find a pistol with ammo and a mag than a high powered rifle with ammo. Hell most of the time I'm equipped with a sawed off, fire ax, and some high powered rifle with plenty of ammo before I find mags for all the pistols I have and I don't get the pistols because I prefer them in combat situations or anything, I get them because I hardly ever get to shoot them from the lack of mags.

there is no way I am the only player that feels this way lol

When they implement the cooking system, the temperature of certain items will be labeled as blue for cold and red for hot. They could implement this same system for blood bags. They could be stored in refrigerators and put in your bag. After a certain period of time they start to cool and when they get to room temp there's only a few hours until the product is labeled spoiled. This would introduce blood bags being found in hospitals in a way that makes sense. Found in a freezer room in a hospital, able to use, but needs to stay cool, etc etc.
-
eh, i dont really think this should be added. The zombies would clean up any body that is visible. I think when they're ready they should just add possible loot to zombies
-
I think blood bags seem pretty legit. Once we have refrigerators, they could open a room in the hospital that's like a freezer room with blood bags.
-
I think it is an interesting idea, but it would look pretty ridiculous and there would probably be a lot of animation glitches with it, plus the extra data that would need to be sent just to make it look like there are certain objects in your pocket.....idk, I would prefer to have that space used for more useful things, but its not like I'd protest this if it happened...
-
For starters, the 1911 and cz 75 are both very common weapons that are owned by civilians. In fact, I think you're more likely to find a 1911 or cz 75 in someone's home than a sporter 22, mosin, blazer, or sks(which all spawn in the piano room for some reason). So, I dont really get why those 2 guns only spawn in military bases.... And we should have at least 2 rare military grade weapons in the game, since there are military bases everywhere......
-
Generally, I don't like the idea of having more combat guns in DayZ, but this one kind of makes sense. As long as it does the same amount of damage per bullet as the cz 75, which should be less than the .45 but more than the .22 The only reason I'm cool with it is because it would take quite a few bullets to actually drop someone with this gun and it acually makes sense that it would be in the game since its used by the police. It should be rare to find and very moddable. It kind of reminds me of the sting 9mm in arma 3, which is probably the weakest of the smg's, or whatever the fuck that gun is classified as.

I like that zombies are more of a threat, but the spawn system definitely still needs work, and I hope they realize this. It's really weird, it's almost like killing a zombie makes the situation worse for you. You kill one and the next thing you know there's like 8 running through walls, they're spawning like 10 feet in front of you or wherever else. It doesn't really matter where, for like 5 minutes you just have a constant stream of zombies coming after you. Even when you take the zombies out quietly, it like you just aggroed the whole city and it doesn't feel right. I was out in the woods, there was one zombie, i killed it real fast, and the next thing I knew there where zombies coming at me from every direction even though there was just one before.... felt really weird. It sucks when you're stalking someone, or trying to set an ambush for someone who is stalking you and you take out one zombie that ran at you and the next thing you know you have a problem for 5 minutes. -
I'm assuming you're saying make some sacrifices for space slots and to that all I have to say is, people will always go for the most optimized option, which in this case would be slot space, which is ttsko gear....
-
that would be cool, but thats the best way to carry the most stuff....so right now its what everyone goes for.
-
a little off topic, but they need to fix fall damage from ruining the players pants, thats a little ridiculous. The pants and some stuff in the pants gets ruined, very much a pain and unreal
-
The only reason i think this is a good idea is because of the lack of different types of clothing items and customization. Don't get me wrong, for a game, there are TONS of clothing items, but in the real world, you hardly even see people wear the same things. Its easier to identify who is who because no one looks the same. They may add in more clothing items and customization options for the players looks, but most people will still look similar. For this reason, I think grouping like ArmA 3 should be allowed. When your running with a geared group and half of the group looks the same, it becomes difficult to know immediately if you know that person or not. Think about it, when you have 4 options for looks per gender and most geared people are wearing basically the same clothes, if another geared person shows up, it's easy to mistake them for your friends. You can argue realism all you want, realistically no one looks exactly the same....but they do in DayZ, and they will continue to.
-
They plan on doing something for ruined bags obviously, I hope they still allow items in the bag, but they fall out after a certain period of time
