I agree with this, its not like there is an abundance of saline bags anyways. If u take some of your own blood, then it will take time to recover from that anyways, which means you're vulnerable to getting killed faster. Also, if they add this in http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/181829-blood-bags-in-hospitals/?hl=%2Bblood+%2Bbags+%2Bin+%2Bhospitals theres a lot you can do with that feature. If you drain the blood from you and put it in your bag, it's warm (read my posts on that thread), which means it wouldn't last as long anyways

pretty sure i've commented on this already, but hell yes. This should definitely be a feature, I want to do shit to my beard though, like be able to choose the style to have it in. I wanna like, right click it and be like, wear braided, or tied up (so it doesn't get fucked up when I'm sniping in prone) and stuff like that.

Some interesting stuff. I think they'll probably polish it up in that similar manner once the game goes into beta. Most of those features, like the amount of water, and batteries attached, are easy things to add

I think after a period of time, the people who survived would start to adapt to their situation, they'd find a way to salvage what they find and build from there. The would be people who find one spot to live in, they'd build shelter, maybe farm the land, set up defenses etc. Then there'd be the nomadic people who keep moving. It's not like having mounted guns on every car would be realistic in any way, but possibly finding a military vehicle to salvage with an already mounted gun on it is realistic. This is post apocalyptic zombie environment, not a post world war environment. Meaning not everything would be blown up and on fire. People just died from a bunch of crazy, hard to kill virus infected cannibal dudes, so why would vehicles be blown up or anything? I bet most of them would be salvageable. Just my two cents... Note: Also, if you watched the road map presentation, Dean was saying he wanted to have control over certain types of loot that would be in high demand. So parts for aircraft would be scarce and possibly on a different server. He was saying a group of servers would manage what spawns on each server. If there were military vehicles with mounted guns, He would most likely make it scarce. Besides, unless someone is driving around in a tank, its not like that person with that vehicle would be hard to kill. If anything that person would have the biggest target on their back......they wouldn't have the vehicle for very long.

I really don't like the idea of NVG's in DayZ. I mean, yea, it would be cool to creep around at night with them on, but it seems like whoever has them is just going to have such an advantage and will definitely take advantage of situations with them. I think the night should be dark for everyone that is not next to a light or fire. I think if someone wants to see at night, they have to take the risk of turning on a light and possibly reveal themselves to nearby players. This might sound scary, but other players would have to do the same thing. What is even scarier is having to turn on a flashlight, knowing that someone else might have NVG's that will make you stand out even more with that flashlight on.... I see darkness as something you should be able to toy with. A player could leave a lamp on the ground to attract other players and then ambush them or something creative like that, with NVG's it just feels like cheating...it just takes away all the possibilities of using night to your advantage because whoever has the NVG's will just see everything

well, choosing what car to drive would be out of the question as well, we can't all drive around in a prius. Besides, the gas guzzlers are usually the easiest to work on and customize really. I don't really care about weapons on cars, although I would be down, I just like the tracks on the back of the first car. The mad max car doesn't have any mounted guns, I want that car the most, lol I'm sure players will camp gas stations regardless of the demand for gas, but on a side note dean was saying he can't make the game too realistic, otherwise it just wouldn't be fun to play so I'm sure the gas at gas stations will be unlimited and it will definitely respawn if it isn't unlimited

I think its a good idea. People may say, the other player would just pop the player playing dead in the head just to be sure, but as far as setting up an ambush goes, it might lure the player close enough to start the ambush. It's also a great way to call the players bluff, if they come out wielding a gun and dont shoot you, pretty good chance they don't have ammo for the gun, and they'll prolly check your body to see if you do. Doesn't seem like a hard thing to implement either, it could just be like another emote from the f keys, this one just makes you lay down in the same position you are when dead or KO'd

So I want to bring up a suggestion that many people will probably rage at for more, but I feel like it is important to discuss. That is, how needlessly hard it is to see objects and players. I understand the upside to this of course, but right now I think player visibility has gone a little overboard. I've been playing DayZ for a while, and I have a hard time seeing people at a distance, not because of my computer settings, which are practically at max btw, but because textures seemed to be a little too meshed. I noticed this when I played Arma 3, because there was more shine on certain objects and the camo(though it worked well), didn't make it incredibly hard to see players unless they were in ghillies. Right now, if you drop anything in the grass that is a dark primary color, it is soooo hard to see. One could argue that long grass usually hides things well, which to an extent is true, but also not true.....If a person is laying in long grass, you see a clear separation of grass from the person lying there. The game does try to mimic that, but it is not as noticeable in the SA as it should be. http://imgur.com/a/pXWJ8 (Look on the rocks) http://imgur.com/a/biSBa In the first picture, the dude is sooo hard to see, and I come across this quite often. I personally think lighting plays a huge role on this(even though he was in the shade in this photo). Light shine has different effects on different materials and I don't think there is a clear difference of how the light shine affects objects in SA at the moment. As an example of how light would shine in the second picture, the painted SKS should have a certain shine to it from the sun. Either the finish on the wood would give the rifle a slight glimmer in the sun or the paint on the sun would have a shine that makes it stand out more in the grass. You can see the glimmer from the sun in that video. Basically, I'm suggesting that there be a clearer difference between objects and environment. I'm not asking for like, some thick black outline around everything like borderlands, but something to make objects stand out a little more besides color. Camo clothing doesn't actually hide people, it just makes them less noticeable and harder to see at a distance. Now before people completely freak out at what I am suggesting, I just want to say it has been confirmed on Chris Torchia's twitter, that 3D camo is something that will be added in game at some point, so anyone that thinks hiding effectively and sniping would be ruined with making things more noticeable, hopefully that will simmer you down a bit Note: I'm aware that all this might not matter soon, that the lighting and visual differences between objects may be tweaked and that yes, this is pre-alpha. I just haven't heard any news of them sharpening things up with the graphics in game. I know they'll polish things up, I just don't know how much. Personally, I think DayZ looks very picturesque right now and the visual environment of the game is immersive

Because, though he is in the shade, people should still be able to see him better than that. He's just wearing basic green for fucks sake. I don't know what you're talking about with the fork handle.....thats not something that was part of the topic....you might just not see the green sks in the grass and think im talking about the pitchfork? idk and on a rainy day wood should stand out more because it would have the appearance of being wet....
-
No, but i do think the current system of checking pulse should still tell you who died, because currently, when the player respawns it won't tell you who the dead player is.....
-
ya, you have a good point. As long as you're wearing the RIGHT GEAR and know how to place yourself, you could be nearly invisible, but not while wearing basic clothing thats just basic green....snipers do stuff like put netting in front of them and stand back from windows inside houses, they wear 3d camo, etc. They cannot sit on top of a rock, with a basic green backback on, green ballistic, green shirt, and camo pants, and not be seen. That is unrealistic and a bit overboard. I do agree, no one should stand out like a glowstick, but there are ways of doing that without just having the player wear green......

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
srgntpepper replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Ya, I'm thinking things in the clothing should only become ruined when zombies continue to hit ruined clothes, if that makes sense, so clothing go to ruin, then if the zombies keep attacking, the things in the clothing start taking damage. They definitely need to make clothing more durable against zombie hits... -
and there's my point lol

why do people still bother to comment on this and bump it as a result, I'm responding just in the hopes that people stop bothering to respond. Like I'm not rying to sound mean, but this is just a big rant and it seems like people are just feeding the trolls here. idk maybe I'm wrong....

hahah, ya dude. second to last lump on the right, thats a player all in basic green with summer hunter pants on, click the link above the picture, theres more pictures, some of them have a guy a little clearer

I think breaking into vending machines is a good idea, and should provide tons of drink or food(depending on the type of machine it is). I don't think you should be able to power it up and I think only a couple cans should be ruined from breaking in, but I think the respawn for vending machines should be a lot longer than normal loot(when they finally add that in).

Attachment(s) for the B95 (and things in the gamefiles)
srgntpepper replied to irishroy's topic in Suggestions
It would be awesome to have a LRS on the b95 and a stock pouch for faster reloading. With the stock pouch I think hitting r should cause the player to reload the gun, but only for as much as the pouch can hold. I think the b95 is underrated, I think it does as much damage as the mosin but its a 2 round semi-auto, so that's the trade-off. -

I swear to god, I made a post just like this like two days ago.......... also, dean commented on another thread just like this on reddit http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/21f2z9/suggestion_make_magazines_spawn_in_guns/cgclj9q?context=1 saying for everyone to please post your opinions about this. I personally don't know why they started the spawns without the mags, but it sounds like they're gonna spawn in pistols with mags soon, so I'm stoked now. Maybe you should turn this into a poll so the devs can see the numbers.

Pants and other clothes items used as bandages
srgntpepper replied to Jasonperson's topic in Suggestions
I agree, we should be able to use more items to tear into rags, I'm sure it will happen in time -
I will always give beans to whoever posts the road warrior picture as an idea for anything^^^^^

I think its an interesting idea, but there's already enough stuff in game right now, currently there is health, blood, shock, hunger, thirst, and wet. I think adding in morale may be a bit overwelming, even though in real life morale is a huge factor in survival situations

I agree on the people killed thing, but why the zombies? so what if people make that a competition, which most won't btw...

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
srgntpepper replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
no, but you can blame the player that shot the mosin
