Found Zombies Wandering Through Forest on Test Server
crimsonbzd replied to Deathlove's topic in General Discussion
the experimental update .37 introduces minimalist zombie respawning. From initial reports I've heard, I wouldn't really consider it to big of a deal though, they're just getting the system in, but it looks like they've also increased spawns. Once true zombie AI is present, the game is optimized to allow for more dynamic objects, and the respawning is made more "robust" i think we'll be in a good direction as far as zombies. -
No, I bought two nVidia cards because I do professional grade video rendering and I need CUDA rendering. You're kinda new to this reading thing aren't you? I use my PC to script mine in my downtime, just WDC. Assuming Scharmbeck didn't just a take a nosedive, I still have hope for the United States true inclusion in the cryptocoin markets through WorldCoin. However, thank you for mentioning those kraken g10's, I just took a quick look before responding but that looks to be a nice adapter for GPU's. What I was really looking for though, as I mentioned in the OP, is a recommendation for a good material to divert the flow of air that is currently being ported right into the other GPU without going to watercooling. I intend to set up a custom loop in the future with some crazy colored coolant, however a maintenence free sealed-block system of course has it's advantages... as in I don't have to pour coolant or worry about fittings becoming poor over time.

Devs, forget features, just focus on stability & release date.
crimsonbzd replied to luzarius's topic in General Discussion
I think you misunderstand what you're talking about entirely. If they fix all the problems in your game right now, they would be finalizing the game. Adding in more features afterwards would only create more problems, which you would then just complain you need fixed again. If you weren't working against yourself, you might ask the opposite. Like: "Devs! Add all the features already so you can focus on making this game stable! When are we expecting bases and cars?" Except... unless you're part of the development team in the studio, you don't know what's going on as far as their timeframes, their workflow, and their lives. Addendum: This game does *NOT* have all the features everyone wants. It's far from it. -
Graphics card for dayz. Please reply soon

New rig time. -
A lot of these people are incorrect. I just recently purchased this exact SSD, samsung 840 Pro 256 GB version. It will NOT provide you a huge FPS increase. It WILL provide quicker load times. More importantly, IT WILL GREATLY STABILIZE YOUR GAME. If you have FPS problems in cities, this IS your solution as far as your disk drive goes. IN SHORT: The consistent, fast speeds of a SSD will greatly improve frame loss. THIS MEANS LESS GLITCH DEATHS FROM STAIRS, BEING FLUNG FROM BUILDINGS, AND LADDERS. Almost all of these deaths occur due to an FPS drop that causes server/client communication confusion, which changes your position in the game and causes a fall. I have had absolutely ZERO glitched deaths since I moved to an SSD and increased my GPU count

Experimental version TOD Going Quicker?
crimsonbzd replied to exomonkeyman's topic in General Discussion
I'm not sure, but considering the current system is a 1:1 time ratio, you could get a quick answer by watching the time in the server list of an Experimental Server. I fear they will leave the day/night ratio 1:1 and at some point remove server owners ability to restart their server to get a specific time, but that's just my own opinion. -
Combat / serverhopping for better position
crimsonbzd replied to HardstylerSL's topic in Suggestions
With the new login timers, I simply suggest the moment you believe someone may attempt to Ghost, or even if they leave your sight for an extended period, to move. A person server hopping cannot keep track of your location, and if their first hop fails (because you moved, giving you the ability to regain sight on them despite their Ghosting) then the timers will essentially disable them from continuing trying to Ghost you. -
Patch frequency[experimental -> stable branch!] poll after Dean's statement that stable patches will get released every 3-4 weeks

How about Experimental for everyone with the same number of servers as now. No more server hopping - no more Ghosting -
This thread is not to discuss whether or not ASUS Sonic Radar is or is not a cheat. They say it enhances the information already present and is a great alternative for deaf gamers. I'm not a deaf gamer, and I note it would give me a serious advantage in certain situations. Despite not actually running this program while playing multiplayer games, my issue is that this program appears to bundled in deeply with my ASUS motherboard software. Now, BattlEye's website notes that no bans will be issued for overlays, however, I'm concerned BE might end up having an issue with the core software involved. So, I can't be the only person to be running an ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO, anyone know if they're gunna banhammer me?
-
I have had no issues with battleye doing anything about running standard overlay programs specifically overwolf and razer game booster fps overlay at the same time. I didn't find that myself on the battleye page, but I was looking on mobile installing this awful OS again. Could you link me? Apparently it gives you a visual representation of the direction of sounds. I haven't used it so I don't exactly know, I"m just gunna be really pissed since my girlfriend is about to get this game to play it with me and i don't want to get global banned cause of my new mobos software.

Honestly, if it starts raining, turn on some music or something in steam overlay. *Ping* you are getting wet *Ping* you are no longer getting wet *Ping* you are getting wet etc...

This is addressed in update .36, live on experimental right now I do believe.

As in every postapo world Zombies should get dmg only from headshots/headhits.

Wrong. These individuals are living humans who are infected. They are not "undead" in any way. Their lives can be ended via any means that would end a standard human's life. -
I have found the "root" of the problem.

Look in the DayZ Gallery on this forum. I posted a picture of this a long time ago with the words "I need a drink" -
When BP rolls into town you'll know it by the nuclear mushroom cloud suddenly in the air. Addendum: BP -- They're our gas stations anyways.

Everyone is aware. Don't go up ladders if you value your life. Then again, don't play DayZ if you value your life.
-
Basically, it's up to you now.

Check your PC against the minimum requirements, but I wouldn't suggest playing right now unless you meet Recommended as they're a lot of optimization left to do. Sorry I don't know AMD parts like that off the top of my head. The Mod is COMPLETELY SEPARATE. To play the mod, you must purchase Arma 2 and Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead (or the whole complete edition at this point.) I, personally, would recommend skipping the mod at this point and going straight for the SA. It's coming close to the amount of features implemented as the complete mod, and I find the SA far more enjoyable anyways. I bought both the mod and standalone at the same time a bit ago. Tips: If you're alone, no matter your intentions, you're prey.

Not my point. I really don't care what you choose to do with your time in the game. My point is that if he's enjoying killing bambis so little, but he keeps returning to it, perhaps "doing something else" for a little while, whether in-game or not, will return some of the fun to his bambi killing. The answer to his issue lies within the issue itself.
-
What truly baffles me is that, as it appears, you're upset about only finding bambis. So, what do you do? Think to yourself "Well, I guess I'll have to go kill a bunch of bambis." Instead of: "Maybe I'll do something productive and let these players gear up." or, if your life truly, truly revolves around this game and you have nothing else to do "Maybe I could run up north for a bit and let them gear up so I can kill them then." or even "Maybe I could help one of these bambis out so I'm not so damn lonely." It just seems to me that by the time you've spent five hours killing bambis and enjoyed it so little that you might have found something more productive to do with your time.

Dayz wont work launching through steam

Yes.

Someone said on here, if you don't want to die, don't ever climb ladders or go up any stairs at all. Seems like solid advice.

I like the idea, but I have two points of contention: 1. Current crafting and game design uses this system. A lot of the game would have to be worked over to even implement this. 2. Micromanagement. Although we're going for realism, an extended amount of micromanagement could become horrific. The current system, although at times unrealistic, allows them to balance items by causing more powerful items to take up more space, accessing and managing your inventory is currently a breeze. However, characters weight and gear SHOULD have a heavy impact on movement speed.
