using spraycans to leave messages on houses/ mark trees and for self defense
crimsonbzd replied to daisho's topic in Suggestions
Ya'll are missing the real issue. I have an awesome computer and an awesome connection. If I were to be able to spray enough graffiti in one place, many players who entered that area would have FPS problems while I would not. I could kill them easily. They, of course, wouldn't be able to limit the amount of spraypainted material in an area and leave any integrity in the system. If there were certain clan markers, they could be removed by emptying a can or two onto the ground nearby, and there would be no way to know for sure if the marker for your stash spot would still be there, etc. -
This is from Supernatural. What do you think?

It's from a show on the CW called Supernatural, Canadian in origin.

Additionally, the zombie you heard was likely a global sound

Experimental servers: A word to the devs
crimsonbzd replied to finnpalm's topic in General Discussion
I cannot tell you how many times I've talked to people who have never played experimental who were astounded that there was no "blue box" or whatever you can go and grab any item out of. My guess is the patch goes through that sort of testing on their end. -

Disallowed characters : You have been kicked.

I feel like this is a way to keep clans off servers... Which I also don't think will be very effective. -
DayZ SA will not give me my Native Screen Resolution

well, obviously not, cause if it REALLY solves your issue, you'll be busy playing. Unless I hear otherwise, I'll accept that I've done a good deed and helped someone out today.

Confirming (sort of) what you said at the top, no PC game will ever use more cores than it's threaded for. THAT BEING SAID, go into your launch options and add this line of code (all at once) -nosplash -noPause -cpuCount=8 -maxMem=8192 _______________________________________________________ Be aware this code is set up for the individual OP, and should anyone else use it you have to set the number of cores to the number your processor has and memory to your max memory (no more than 16gb) in megabytes. OP this should help DayZ utilize your PC more.

Honestly, I think your problem lies in the fact that you're mixing AMD and Intel parts. I have a quad core i7 haswell 4770k 3.5, 32gb ram, 2x gtx 760 4gb, and an SSD. I get a wide range of FPS, 30 - 90 in cities with my graphics maxed out, 120 - 170 in the empty wilderness. The important part is not what your FPS is though, it's how stable your gameplay is, and you can't make this game play any better than putting it on an SSD. Simply put however, your game should play better than that with that spec of a PC

Let me clarify for ya'll. This still wasn't a hack. It's a known issue that during heavy latency and desync issues, commands are spammed from the server since there's no way (until .37 hits stable) to ensure the client is receiving the commands. During these times: you may still take damage, player locations may not be properly updated, and generally your client won't respond to any returning commands from the server. Short story of it all: Someone can kill you and you will be unable to equip a weapon during that time. To give you a good example of a hack, my group and I (Beck's Privateers) were policing NWAF the other night. A guy kept sliding through walls sideways and killing us all with just one bullet each. Another interesting one is when you just start getting punched out of nowhere. HOWEVER THIS IS NOT TO SAY THAT AN INDIVIDUAL COULD NOT CAUSE LAG BASED ISSUES THEMSELVES AND USE THAT TO KILL YOU. It would be simple enough to UDP flood the server (I mean, they give you the IP address RIGHT THERE) and confuse everyone's client/server communication. Then they could just run up to you and kill you, and you'd have no idea until they turn the flood off and you're suddenly dead.
-
You weren't even hacked. That's desync issues.

He was calling your PC old, and commenting on the fact that you don't have any sort of graphics card installed at all.

This whole thing takes a special kind of stupid.

Regular servers issues with loot, doors and zombies.
crimsonbzd replied to insaneroy's topic in Troubleshooting
This happens to me on every log in, however shortly after spawning in I will receive a red desync link and then everything will catch up shortly after. -
Even with full optimization on your end... even with full optimization when the games complete, I don't think you'll be able to pull off a positive gaming experience with that on DayZ. I just built a system including a SSD, 2x GTX 760 ftw 4gb, and an i7 haswell 4770K at 3.5 stock. In cities with a group of 10+ people I get between 40 and 70 FPS, alone in the woods I get 150 sometimes even up to 170 on max graphics all around. Maybe that'll give you an idea how of this game plays right now lol.

i thought .37 experimental was supposed to be out
crimsonbzd replied to bioned's topic in General Discussion
They fixed SSAO options from resetting I do believe. I don't know if they did anything else. -
I contend to you that this is not news in the slightest. Dean said he inevitably leave the DayZ team at some point, that he knew he would become a hindrance to the project. Frankly, I don't doubt it it to be true. Oftentimes in the creative process, you learn from current actions even as they unfold. This isn't his ultimate game, but up until you were disillusioned you loved it anyways.

Simply use alt+enter to force the game into a windowed mode. alternatively, access whatever you need to do in the steam overlay browser

Would you play a game with real permadeath?
crimsonbzd replied to bad_mojo (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
The issue here is, upon death, you're forced to go do something else. Perma-death, DayZ style, is as far as it can go without destroying what a video game is supposed to be.
