Finding group members in-game?

3 words: RUN FOREST RUN! -
technically, 2nd person is a perspective you cannot have. someone is seeing you in the second person. you could see yourself in the second person if you were watching a stream of someone who was looking at you.

Put it in bug reports, I'll upvote it when I stumble across.

Stuck in water, can't respawn, want to die
crimsonbzd replied to Hazza1803's topic in New Player Discussion
If you don't have any other characters and just want to die, I'd suggest deleting local content through steam and reinstalling. Will probably take less time than waiting to starve/dehydrate to death and respawning. -
WIthout trying to start a who's PC is better war, my newest build should shit bricks over top of all your computers, and I pull the same FPS, the only place I drop below 30 though is Svetlo. In comparison, if I play a 64 player TDM in BF4 I bottom out at 150 FPS on Ultra graphics. If I can give two big tips to improving your DayZ experience: 1. Kill any task running off the drive that DayZ is on. If that's where your map is, close it anyways and open the map in the steam browser. 2. Kill Explorer.exe after you load up the game. Stabilizes it very well.

I might recommend you also check out 7 Days to Die

I contend that if the game as a majority turned friendly, devs would be forced to up the ante on PvE elements even moreso.

Frustrated by a strange PC problem
crimsonbzd replied to TheWookieMonster's topic in Technology/Programming
If it is by any chance an ASUS mobo, look for a little overclocking switch on the mobo. turn it to "off". that at least solved a surprisingly similar problem for me once. -
Your statement of my statement being stupid is rejected, whilst I contend the seed of your response is small minded. ;The technology at the loosely anticipated release of this game, 2016, will be far more advanced than today's. If the minimum specs stay the same, they will be clearly and obviously limiting the game. I'd really like them to update the general reference builds for minimum and recommended at beta if not release. Furthermore, if it's not already, SSD drives should be on the recommended list.

I just popped on to play .42 and I spawned in so far north on the Berezino coastline I could see the shipwreck clearly.

Honestly, the damage from melee is something I chalked up to Alpha in the first place. With the limited items in the game, Since they intend to implement crafted weapons, it would seem they'd intend for the need to craft them, but until then fists are super weapons. Hell they still make you bleed like crazy on stable. I believe they are going to add some unique qualities to weapons down the road. For instance, melee should do "shock" damage to an exposed player, but a guy wearing full TTSKO will beans all over his pockets shouldn't have 10 cans of ruined beans in his clothes after being punched 4 times. If you get hit in the head by a full grown man full on swinging a giant wrench, you should immediately be knocked unconscious if not killed if wearing no headgear, etc.

I just hope melee is fixed before this hits stable. -
Anyone else feel like stable branch is becoming pointless/neglected?
crimsonbzd replied to Bororm's topic in General Discussion
I'd actually chalk it up to more work being done. Seems like they're pushing more builds, updating the game, quicker than they can keep it playable enough for stable branch. Which is good... it seems to me so far it's been a stop-and-go process. They make something, then make it work, then push to stable. Now we're going straight from .35 to at least .42. -
Quoted from Rocket on this forum for Experimental Branch v. 0.42 "ETA to Experimental: Currently deployed ETA to Stable: No current ETA, dependent on testing results" However you can simply change your game to experimental branch to try out all of these new features.

Got Struck In Textures? Dont panic! Have some fun!
crimsonbzd replied to AgainstAllAutority's topic in Gallery
Depending on the texture and how hard it struck, it may not have been too bad. -
I love the idea but if they did it they would have to implement it near the end of development. Imagine if these factors were in game now, people would make of sport of getting someone to try and do it without dying randomly. "Hey, dare you to mantle through that window for an M4" -- "No"

using spraycans to leave messages on houses/ mark trees and for self defense
crimsonbzd replied to daisho's topic in Suggestions
Ya'll are missing the real issue. I have an awesome computer and an awesome connection. If I were to be able to spray enough graffiti in one place, many players who entered that area would have FPS problems while I would not. I could kill them easily. They, of course, wouldn't be able to limit the amount of spraypainted material in an area and leave any integrity in the system. If there were certain clan markers, they could be removed by emptying a can or two onto the ground nearby, and there would be no way to know for sure if the marker for your stash spot would still be there, etc. -
This is from Supernatural. What do you think?
