    short of digging through 6 months of text to actually quote where i read this, but as I understand it barricading is confirmed. they're also working on things that persist per server, which I know included notes on paper messages and I believe included barricades.

    This is really the difference between the SA and mod. The mod is complete, yet pretty freakin' old in the world of gaming. The SA is very new, yet incomplete. Once the SA has had the time put into it that the mod has by both devs and community, you'll see even crazier stuff in the SA I'm sure.

    I would assume, with general items having protector cases, medical items have medipacks, and ammo having ammo boxes, that we won't be left with an only option of throwing our cooked meat into a linty backpack. My real question in if salting and pickling will be implemented alongside or shortly after hunting/cooking.

    Sounds to me like the server you were on was deleting characters. Happened to some members of my group once, we all spawned in our previous locations, but some of us had no loot and generic white guys.

    tl;dr. i stopped at "get infected with the zombie virus" from what I understand, you the player are already completely immune to the virus. sickness will certainly be implemented into this game, so... yeah.

    technically, 2nd person is a perspective you cannot have. someone is seeing you in the second person. you could see yourself in the second person if you were watching a stream of someone who was looking at you.

    go to steam, right click DayZ, properties, find delete local content and click it. then click on DayZ and select reinstall

    If you don't have any other characters and just want to die, I'd suggest deleting local content through steam and reinstalling. Will probably take less time than waiting to starve/dehydrate to death and respawning.

    I contend that if the game as a majority turned friendly, devs would be forced to up the ante on PvE elements even moreso.

    Your statement of my statement being stupid is rejected, whilst I contend the seed of your response is small minded. ;The technology at the loosely anticipated release of this game, 2016, will be far more advanced than today's. If the minimum specs stay the same, they will be clearly and obviously limiting the game. I'd really like them to update the general reference builds for minimum and recommended at beta if not release. Furthermore, if it's not already, SSD drives should be on the recommended list.

    I just popped on to play .42 and I spawned in so far north on the Berezino coastline I could see the shipwreck clearly.

    Are OHKO from fists realistic?

    Honestly, the damage from melee is something I chalked up to Alpha in the first place. With the limited items in the game, Since they intend to implement crafted weapons, it would seem they'd intend for the need to craft them, but until then fists are super weapons. Hell they still make you bleed like crazy on stable. I believe they are going to add some unique qualities to weapons down the road. For instance, melee should do "shock" damage to an exposed player, but a guy wearing full TTSKO will beans all over his pockets shouldn't have 10 cans of ruined beans in his clothes after being punched 4 times. If you get hit in the head by a full grown man full on swinging a giant wrench, you should immediately be knocked unconscious if not killed if wearing no headgear, etc.

  22. I'd actually chalk it up to more work being done. Seems like they're pushing more builds, updating the game, quicker than they can keep it playable enough for stable branch. Which is good... it seems to me so far it's been a stop-and-go process. They make something, then make it work, then push to stable. Now we're going straight from .35 to at least .42.

    I love the idea but if they did it they would have to implement it near the end of development. Imagine if these factors were in game now, people would make of sport of getting someone to try and do it without dying randomly. "Hey, dare you to mantle through that window for an M4" -- "No"
