that time has nothing to do with "Region" the time is a GMT time to state what time it is inside the game server ... as in is it night time 17:00-07:00 or day time 07:00 - 16:00 (these arent accurate just using an example) So those times are to reference what point of the day the game is at..... and has nothing to do with your local real life time.....

Played a bit last night, and after figuring out the difference between hardcore and regular, i decided to keep playing on regular servers so my progress would save..... and maybe this weekend when i have time to kill ill do a hardcore marathon for a few hours (seeing as u reset everytime u log off and log into hardcore servers) Either way, it seems that my "Regular" character is being reset everytime i leave a regular server (for example.. played for an hour... decided it was shower time.... logged out in a nice little spot... took shower... came back.. logged in to a "Regular" server... and my character was a fresh spawn again....... Has anyone else been experiencing this? And yes i even thought to myself.. maybe i was on a hardcore server.. maybe i joined one after the shower (although i made sure it wasnt hardcore) ... so i logged out.. made SURE i was logging into a regular server... logged in.. ran around with the fresh spawn for a little.. put him inside a house in Solnich (about 20 yards from the spawn point) .. and logged off... once again made SURE i was going to join a regular server.... logged in to it.. and the character was now a fresh spawn near kamishovo..... rince repeat... happened 4 times so anyone else?

I dont like 3pp and people using it but.............. ITS NOT AN EXPLOIT you see.... an exploit is defined as something that gives an unfair advantage in the game which is obtained through manipulating the game itself... either through code or inside the game world (Like pushing yourself into a rock where no one can see you but you can see them) .. exploits are usually glitches that had never really been wanted in the game to begin with (hence ghosting is an "Exploit" and generally requires someone setting up 2 favorite servers or playing with a friend to achieve optimal log in log out time so the target doesnt leave or log out himself.. it needs to be done fast... so players have developed a system to pull it off) 3PP IS NOT an exploit.....well not in the typical sense.... its actually developed into the game in its current build.. its an OPTION that a player can turn off or on.... and it doesnt matter how fast your PC or your NET is.. you can use 3PP and look around a building If your PC or net is slow.. you will not have an effective time using the "Ghosting" exploit of logging out and logging in next to the intended target.... therefore its a more "Typical" exploit because it gives faster pc's and net connecting users a huge advantage due to their ability to log in and out of a server at an above average speed....... 3PP on a server can be used by ANYONE at ANYTIME.. no one stops you from using it.. not even the speed of your PC or Net 3PP is lame, it shouldnt be in a game such as this one that tries to in some ways stress a realistic sense of fear and paranoia... BUT it is not really an exploit

Im having the same problem And im making sure that i join "Regular" servers... and not "Hardcore" since hardcore will always start you fresh upon logging into it (And its supposed to not effect the character your use for regular servers) either way i recreated the problem 5 times last night.... and made sure that every log in and log out was on regular servers .... every time the spawn was a fresh one..... Got to the point where i just spawned in.. went to a house ... waited 5 minutes (to make sure i wasnt getting the quick log in quick log out reset bug)... logged out and logged into a different regular server..... only to be a fresh spawn in a completely different area.... It has something to do with the "Hardcore" rule-set clashing on certain servers i believe... but i cant be sure.. im not a dev

I saw someone in another thread mention something about keeping an Alt.. so he didnt always risk his perfectly geared character on silly (but risky) stuff..... (Like check pointing right outside of cherno.... and taking peoples shoes) ... eventually one of your group is gonna get sniped.. .and if thats you and you have a fully geared out guy.. it can suck ( i dont mind it.... but i do understand his point.... id rather my geared guy go down in a shootout of awesomeness then some lone sniper shooting and combat logging.. logging into an empty server... moving to a different vantage point... loggin back in to our server.. and doing it again (i dont mind dying.... but dying to an exploiter/cheater/hacker... bogus) OK ANYWAY.... is there any possible way of having an alt... or rather 2 characters on one account (aside from having two steam accounts?) because someone was talking about how he did it (which i assumed was .... 2 copies of the game.... 2 steam accounts) Again this is just owning 2 characters on one account... not trying to actually PLAY 2 characters at the same time

and the hilariousness of being a fresh spawn and happening upon a distracted geared up player looking around a house.... punching him down.. taking his gun and running without killing him... is priceless stick around to hear the reaction on their mic "HEY GET BACK HERE ASSHOLE.... HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!?!" remember.. as a fresh spawn... you have nothing to lose.. and he has a whole delicious plate of beans .... GET DEM BEANS!!!!

Oh i would agree But i played Hardcore Diablo 2 (only hardcore) EvE online and everquest on Ralloz Zek (Free for all pvp, lootable corpse like dayz) in all of those games i had alts......and on the main OR the alt... i freaked out when i came close to death BUUUUT all of those games have a MUCH MUCH steeper gearing curve..... so i guess you are correct... In those games.. you die.. you could lose anywhere from 1 hour to months of work Again i wasnt trying to suggest it or ruin it...... i was just wondering what the other person was talking about with alt characters and "Hives" lol i guess this game is a little "Softer" then a game like EvE ........ everytime i die in Day Z i get a really good laugh out of it... be it insta snipe death.. invis zombie (the only thing i will combat log to... i will NOT die to glitched AI... id rather be insta killed by a headshot from a sniper... then die to a zombie i had NO chance of fighting) or the dreaded ladders lolol but in Eve... if i got blown up... i was mad... but then again that was 3 months of gearing up (with more months to go.... that is now gone)

more people will appreciate it then not its quite a surprise to hear a shot ring out...... realize... your not dead..... and furthermore.. the threat is!

i guess due to playing EQ on Rallos Zek, (PVP server... 1 item can be taken from your character upon death.... and before that it was all loot can be taken) and then playing EvE for some time ... that game has some HARDCORE loss ... things that take 10-20 people weeks to obtain... can be lost in minutes and of course tons of Hardcore characters in Diablo 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------ But sticking to your question on how we deal with the loss of gear/characters/loot I laugh.... i literally laugh... because 10 minutes ago.... i was force feeding a guy rotten apples... i probably deserve to be shot down like a dog...... and even if i wasnt...... at some point i will do something that will monkey wrench another survivors plan..... Sometimes your the one holding the gun..... sometimes ur the one getting cuffed and told to give up your pants.... only to be beat down by a man in a clown mask with no pants and a yellow raincoat.... Thats my first step.... i usually laugh about it and plop it into the "DayZ diary" of my brain... The second step is realizing... OH MAN ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN! NEW SPAWN TIME!!!!!! and off i go.... heres a few fresh spawn stories that you may look forward to experiencing (im talking these things happened within 5 minutes of spawning) and if the next little spawn story doesnt make a fresh new spawn seem a little brighter then i dunno what would about this game One time i spawned.... walked 2 feet.... someone literally comes falling off a ladder and plop... dies 2 feet from me.... fully geared.... i laughed so hard over it.... (Thanks almighty day z god for smiting this man off his ladder and gracing me with full military gear within 3 mins of spawning) ........ Another time i literally walked 10 feet from where i was onto a road...... mosin geared survivor.... hoodie.. ammo...med kit.. great starting package.... woot woot!! (on this one i ended up dieing from an apartment building ladder in cherno about 20 mins later) and the best one so far.... i spawned near solnich ..... walk down the road for about 3 minutes... 3 survivors coming up road.. 2 of them pretty damn geared... the other is a tag along with just a melee weapon.... (Now i already didnt like where i spawned so i immediatly say HEY JUST SHOOT ME I WANNA RESPAWN) ... they start talking some nonsense and asking me for something.... im like ok they dont wanna shoot me.... then ill make them Fists go up.... and i rush the dude right infront of me (Now i can hear them clearly) "OH SHIT HES GOIN CRAZY" one of them screams out as i start pummeling one of them ... the other geared survivor pulls out a gun... i get hit once while charging him in a zig zag... and start popping him .. "oh man oh man oh man hes going nuts hes crazy" ... i connect with his head this time and he goes down .... jackpot... got the inventory up .. pulled his M4 off... shot up armed guy number 2 and looked at the 3rd.. unarmed survivor..."Do you want to mess with me too?!?" i ask he to my surprise says "Dude.... thanks... those guys took me hostage down the road and forced me to come or get shot... so i followed... please dont kill me i swear im not with them" ..... "oh shit.... i was wondering why you were so undergeared compared to them... uhm well.... take that guys gear there.... im going to take the hell of now before someone else shows up.... have a nice day dude" survivor #3 "your the fucking man ......i wish i recorded that me already starting to leave "yeah man.. me too... me too..... " and off i went to go die in one ridiculous way or another in the future ..........

Yeap, ladders are the #1 killer of survivors... as of my own experience A couple noted ladders to stay away from (90% chance it will fuck your day up) APARTMENT BUILDING TOP FLOOR TO ROOF LADDER < ---- this one is the fucking devil.. its a small ladder at the top of the big apartment buildings in cherno... you will climb up it and right at the point where you would end up on the roof.. your character backs up (nothing you do stops it) and hangs midair for 2 seconds... drops the 1-2 feet to the floor.... and you break your leg or more commonly.... just die..... any "Caged" ladder.... this is a 50/50 any ladder ive seen with a guard cage around it..... ive randomly fallen off of.... straight up died (On a server with 1 other player... my friend... who was 3 towns away.. so no way i was shot) ...... this ladder seems to be death incarnate... no chance of broken legs here... if you climb it.... you will either die.. or make it... but then theres going back down... good luck The only ladder ive NEVER had a problem with... are the silos near Solnichny and Kamishovo .... i can get up and down those no problems at all so far (but i only climb those to die and possibly get a better spawn) and for my "Ah fuck me" story...... first time trying to snipe in cherno.... ive run and gunned through it... held people up.. but im generally in and out.... this time i wanted to go solo.... and snipe for an hour or two.. see what (what i think is the most boring) gameplay style is all about... so i ascend the apartment building (Had no idea about glitchy ladders yet) ...... climb that godforsaken ladder to the roof (stupid 2 foot ladder of doom) ... i peak over the edge around the roof... no one up here.. .AWESOME time to get ready... so i climb the last bit.. only to do the auto backwards walk at the top and fall right back down the ladder.... broken leg.... well at least i have this morphine!!!! ..... (pops morphine injection) .... nice cool morphine works... now.. about this ladder.. (figured it was a one time glitch.. ) go to climb it again.. at the point where im almost at the top.. i inch and notice my character starting to push backwards again.... so i try to go back down and it makes me fall (NO NO NO NO NO ... ::Butt pucker::) land.. and by the luckiest of luck... no injury or death... OK NEVER GOING BACK UP THERE.... (report bug).... ok now i still wanna snipe........ maybe this balcony will do.. no 360 view... but it shud work walk out on balcony....... hit "go prone" key ...... character flops forward to go into prone..... glitches... i hang for 2-3 seconds over the edge of balcony (NO NO NO NO NOOOO) and............. drop......... dead.............................. Well i didnt like that guy anyway (secretly sobbing)

You can refill plastic bottles and canteens already Contaminated water is not implemented yet.... but the way to purify water is (Water purifcation tablets can be found in Med Kits, and randomly at loot spawns) So contamination is coming....
