this is what i will try tonight I have heard of problems with "Containers looted off players" ... such as Med packs, prot cases, and ammo boxs but i have none of those..... (thing is i may of had one ... this character has been alive for over 48 hours played .. across 6 days.. so i may of had one at one point... dropped it because i didnt need it) either way, suiciding the character and fresh spawning is my last option (I dont care about dying.. i just figured my problem wasnt the exact same as described so how could this work?) but seeing as a reinstall X2 and a verify X2 ..... as well as every other more.. file/program oriented fix then killing your character isnt working... well then why not try that... lol ill report back if it works

Oh that can absolutely be the case.......... but guess what i do when that happens i come back to the forums (GASP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and post............ ::que intense feverish suspensfull music:: ........................................... that the problem seems to of resolved itself, im not sure how but it did.. here is EVERYTHING i did prior to the problem going away.... incase one of them is a factor.... but as of now.. i have no idea how it resolved.. it just did... .... i do this so at least other people can have some idea of "Oh well maybe mine fixed" i get what your saying... and im really not trying to be an asshole... altho i may seem as such.. Having session lost issues myself Done EVERY fix you can find on this site ...... (None of them worked as i expected.. when do any non official forum fix's work..... ..... because to me those "Fix" suggestions are the equivalent of putting a leaf on your head to fix a flat tire on your car) Anyway i do like to document any problem i come across to help the alpha along the symptoms would be I log in.. environment loads up...(I play with a friend so i can test more effectively) ... n e way he starts moving around the room... dropping items and such... opening and closing the door.. I see NONE of this..he just stays in the postition he was when i loaded into the server.... If i move around... drop something.. switch my weapons.. open a door and close it..... NOTHING except crouching/standing/walking works from me.......i cant shoulder a weapon... i cant move items from my backpack or drop them.....but apparently I CAN... because my friend says "Dude you dropped beans.... and your gun... you just opened a door... now your crouching (this is all happening within normal times of me doing it... so its not "Lagging" in the traditional sense... because he sees my character drop an item when i drop it... only problem is.. I DONT SEE IT again.. no containers (Med pak, ammo box, prot case) no dead body loot... numerous reinstalls and verifies ....... nothing worked.... Guess im probably waiting on next patch... which probably wont fix it either...... yes this IS an alpha... I understand that... a good portion of the players understand that the dev's do not seem to... ...... they would rather go hike mount everest and take weeks off....... most alphas are patched EVERY 4-6 days...... a week at most... because if a problem becomes wide-spread.. most testers = offline... which = less testing.. which = less feedback... which = longer dev times... but i guess that = more time to hike and research hiking so they can add more hiking to their hiking game.. that has some zombies in it.... well.. thats also only if you can actually play too.... oh well... more problems = less players... less players = less complaints... less complaints = game is doing ok.... game is doing ok = more hiking time and weeks off Everything makes sense now lolol

similar problem Join game... everyone can see me move.. switch weapons.. drop things.. open doors but to me... im doing nothing except walking... im not opening the door.. and everyone else is just standing in the position they had been in when i spawned... after 2-3 minutes im "Session lost" booted Players on the server say i was kicked due to Signature check timed out

bump........ this issue popped up for me last night...... cannot fix it with any methods described in this and other threads worst part is... its not wide-spread..... therefore no official help with come.. Its up to us on this one it seems

No. i give up after seeing that every single thread with this problem.... standalone,arma2/3, and DayzMod all end the same way... no resolution and the player literally quits the game apparantly (At least in 2 threads the player just gave up after 2 weeks..... who knows if they figured it out later) THATS when i give up... it just so happens it only took 30 minutes ---------------------- OK anyway back to possibly finding a solution for myself and other players with this problem currently Things i have done (IN ORDER) ... note i DO NOT have any med cases, yellow cases, or ammo containers.... i am fully aware of this bug... problem is im not having "Typical" desync issues... as i explained.. my friend sees everything i do... but i see all players and interacting objects (Doors) as they were when i load in... nothing moves.. people or objects .... ALTHOUGH i had loot from another player, i removed all my loot and reverted to a "Freshie" without respawning.... i will try respawning my character tonight... perhaps it IS the "Container" bug and its something my character had on him 2-3 days ago causing this issue?!? I only play hardcore... so i will also try a "Regular 3PP on" server tonight .... the reason i didnt try that yet was i have no containers on that HC char... so i figured the freshie on regular wouldnt matter either way I HAVE NO red chain or yellow chain.. broken or otherwise... nothing like that... in the player list.. my ping is 30-50.... and i see that i have a desync of 1... maybe 2 things i have already tried 1 Verified files on steam..... didnt work 2 Reinstalled.. did not work 3 re-reinstalled... and verified after... didnt work 4 multiple servers ... i mean MULTIPLE servers attempted (all hardcore) .. all same result I can connect... and im IN the server apparently ... because i can move around.. crouch.. open doors (even though i dont see them open.. my friend sees it open..... but again... on my screen.. nothing is happening except me moving around.. i cannot switch weapons.. drop anything.... well.. i can.. but i cant see myself doing it.. everyone else can see it but not me) my internet is fine.... i played CS:GO instead for oh...i dont know.. 4 hours last night straight.. no problems All my voice comms .. ventrilo, gamevox, teamspeak, skype.... all pings under 20ms .... no problems with them what-so-ever i did NOT run them during my testing of dayZ Again... i have not had a SINGLE issues since DAY 1 of the standalone (Lucky i know) ... i am not complaining.. because yes it is a true alpha.... but it seems a lot of issues on these forums that are "Wide spread" never seem to be solved..... or they get solved and the player never reports back the concrete solution.... not sure if this belongs here but We tried about 10 servers last night, every single server.. same problem I had played ok for about 1-2 minutes on the first server.... then HEAVY HEAVY desync issues.. bad bad issues.. we decided time to switch servers Upon joining the new server, my friend described he was moving around the room...... but on my screen he was still crouched in front of me in the same spot he was when i loaded in So we change servers...... same problem Change servers again..... and the same problem.... again and again.... etc etc etc every time... i load in... and he can see me move... crouch.. do whatever im currently doing...... but no doors respond.. and his character (As well as everyone else in the server) DO NOT move.. or anything... After about 8 minutes i am moved to the server select screen with a "Session Lost" message and my friends say on the server it states "Signature check timed out" I have not had ANY problems or touched ANY files since the early access alpha started...... therefore i have NO idea what the problem could be....... any ideas?

I do not own a server, But it is rare that ive seen a server hosting service team up with a developer to get something sorted out this quickly..... It was rather impressive on your part too that you came to the forums to keep the community informed! Thanks Leviathan and Rocket..... i hope this issue doesnt pop up again in the future (because others obviously will.. and dealing with a resurrected issue is always a bummer) Again thanks for the relatively quick fix after the problem was identified!

That box that has the "I understand" button... that is your "statement" That warning states that for no reason at all at any random time due to the game being in alpha, you may lose progress,characters, the game might not load for any number of reasons after a patch... its all in that box you click stating that you "Understand" that what happened with this current patch... can possibly happen We all knew a patch was hitting ... i literally just played recklessly sunday night (Ran out in the middle of cherno and shot my gun in the air for 2 minutes.... attracting tons of players/zombies lol.... and just did similar things... like attempting to fall off a balcony and land on the one beneath mine without a scratch .. (only was able to do it once.....) again not trying to be an ass... just trying to say that.... they already warned you by stating that the game is in alpha

actually i went on to explain why its lame i didnt explain why its an "Exploit".... but i also explained why its not technically an "Exploit" (now i know its just a left over feature from Arma .... and i agree id like it removed but.. until then i will use it on servers that allow it..... because i assume everyone else is using it.... and when i dont want to deal with that.. i play on HC servers.... simple! and again for the record An exploit is generally an unintended consequence of a feature or something similar in a game that isnt directly accessible through normal playing...... Like getting yourself wedged into a rock and being able to shoot out, but no one else can shoot in... or getting on to the roof of a building through extensive use of the V key (step over) and clipping... THOSE would be exploits ... seeing as being able to walk through a wall and end up on a roof is probably not an intended feature... and is not a feature directly accessible to all players within normal game constraints ... its a bug... and its a bug that a player will use to gain an advantage.. thus that = exploit 3PP is a button press.... press a button.. and boom 3pp .. its available to anyone and everyone... If you are on a 3pp enabled server.... then i suggest using it..... because the other people probably are.... or just play on a HC Hive server the reason i wanted to explain the difference between and exploit and a feature that some dislike..... is because a fix or removal is handled in a much different way When dealing with a true exploit caused by a bug or glitch.. developers generally want it gone... they didnt intend for it.. therefore it is USUALLY removed rather quickly (and generally the fan base...those not using it = happy and those using the exploit may complain but they also know they have no true argument on keeping a glitch or bug inside the game... because it was never intended... When dealing with a "Feature" whether they added it themselves or it was just a piece of the engine that they decided to let stay... developers have a harder time getting rid of it... Its an intended part of the engine... and to remove it may also screw with something else (not saying thats the case) .. removing a bug generally just squashes the bug... but removing an intended feature can have unforeseen consequences (G-man quote!) not to mention the whole "Well the other guy can use it too all he has to do is hit his enter key" argument... with an exploited glitch or bug.... sometimes the other guy can NEVER use it unless he knows how to replicate what causes the exploitable glitch Anyway i didnt want to cause any full on arguments.. i just wanted to clarify the difference between a lame feature that half the people like and the other half does not ....... and a true exploit IE. bug/glitch abused to gain an unfair advantage what surprises me is that many people complain about this......... an option but no one complains about the fact that someone can raise their gamma to 100% on a night server and blam you now have night vision... obviously if can see you at night and you cant see me.. i have an advantage... so why not request the removal of gamma settings?

once again Although it is LAME it is not an exploit due to it being an intentional addition to the game and the fact that everyone has extremely easy access to using it regardless i DO like the separation of servers for the players who prefer one perspective over the other

I never played the Arma mod So im still kinda in the dark on how "Hives" work i know they are basically clusters of servers that share the information of your character (allowing you to play your character's save from one server in a hive to another in the same hive) and if im correct up until this patch.... every server was on the same hive So maybe this is whats causing the problem for some players with characters resetting from one "Regular" server to the next? well it IS alpha and i knew what i was getting into... so time to squash this bug i guess!
