The god damn fauna doing zombie sounds..
zaphodity (DayZ) replied to infiltrator's topic in General Discussion
LOL. I actually like it. Keeps you on edge, specially the sound of someone eating or opening a can of soda XD I once got so paranoid I got into a firefight with sound effects. Scrambling through the bush, spinning in circles, screaming emptying loads of ammo on nothing. Lovin' it. Definitely worth the price of admission. -
Oh, hell yes. (Double barrel and the "t" button)
zaphodity (DayZ) replied to Dchil's topic in General Discussion
When the shotgun goes off with both barrels in an enclosed room. -
Cheater / WallHacker caught on tape. Hope this stuff gets ironed out
zaphodity (DayZ) replied to Ponder (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
By the way, you never cleared the office downstairs to your left. Congratulations, you are now dead. I'm no Dexter, but that bullet hit you directly to the side of your head, on the left. BOOM headshot. -

Haven't experienced the thunder yet. -
Crank the brightness and gamma all the way up.

I usually carry 3 of the suckers on me, then again I'm feral and spend most of my time in the bush.

For all the whiners complaining that they cant find any loot....
zaphodity (DayZ) replied to overdosed (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Once I move inland man, I don't have a back pack big enough to carry all the loot. It's EVERYWHERE inland. (For the bambi's) You can generally tell if there's people in a town by how the zombies are acting. If the town has a shit load of bored looking zombies, then it's very possible nobody is in the town. Zombies are like burglar alarms. So watch the town for a little while before rushing in like a bull in a china shop. I once sat watching one particular zombie that I ended up naming "Herman". Herman was slowly shuffling back and forth, like he was stoned out of his mind at a Joe Cocker concert. I kept saying "Herman's just catching some dynamite rays" and giggling to myself in the bushes. It was a nice sunny day after all. What do you call a flock of crows ?....a "murder" of crows. What do you call a group of zombies ?....a "shuffle" of zombies. Neat huh ? -
Should they add more military zombies at bases and airfield?
zaphodity (DayZ) replied to DeathbyBurgers's topic in General Discussion
Yes. I think it's incredibly sad that people camp at military bases. -
Once you get an axe, some water and food, head towards the middle of the map. You won't get shit at Cherno or Elecktro, or the towns along the coast so don't even try. There is a small military base just above Kemenka and also one in Zelenogorsk. They're everywhere, even on Green Mountain. I spend most of my time inland, at towns like Vybor, Zelenogorsk and Pustoshka and ALWAYS find loot. I even found an SKS on the rooftop in Vybor. Further you go inland, the more loot you'll find. You'll get the hang of it. Go bush my son, go bush.

I got so lost in the DayZ wilderness today that I ended up in a World of Warcraft server. -
One of them red things with a count down thingy. I hadn't seen anyone for ages, I was just lonely.

How many of you can read/write russian?
zaphodity (DayZ) replied to KnightFall1856's topic in General Discussion
iZurvive. It's free app on Google Play. The english translation is under the russian version. To simplify things, just take the first three characters of the first russian word of the town, then match them to a location name in iZurvive. See, simple isn't it ? -
Lootable Buildings are Becoming an Endagered Species
zaphodity (DayZ) replied to DarkwaveDomina's topic in General Discussion
I'm guessing you are one of these plebs who has spent pretty much their entire DayZ experience sitting in a little room in Cherno or Elektro waiting for a bambi to run past. Currently, I am sitting back in a field stuffing my face in Zelenogorsk, laughing at all the bambi snipers starving to death in Cherno and Elektro. Something to keep you entertained while you wait. Fixing a hole in Cherno: Stops my mind from wandering, where it will go oh ohhhh.... -
It's a glitch. Getting fixed in the next patch.
-
Sure is. My character says it's stuffed, then tells me it's hungry. Since this has been implemented I've spewed 3 times. And what's the other thing they claimed to have fixed, oh yes, military tent loot spawns. Bullshit they have. I went to two different sites, both had nothing. Even the tents floor graphics (grass) wasn't even rendered properly at the airfield up north. Certainly seems like 30 million worth of bang for your buck to me. I had more luck finding a SKS on top of a roof than I did finding one in a military tent.

Accuracy comparison: DayZ vs ARMA 2
zaphodity (DayZ) replied to -Gews-'s topic in General Discussion
As far as accuracy goes in DayZ, you would have more luck hitting the target if you actually threw the M4 at them. What makes it even worse is that on top of the poor accuracy of the weapons, you have to take server lag, glitches and desync into account as well. At the end of the day, the most accurate weapons in DayZ are either the fire axe or throwing up. On a lighter note, I am still looking for a burlap bag for my head. Once that's been taken care of, my visual awesomeness will be complete. Resplendent in haute couture autumn cammo, and a burlap bag from The House Of DayZ. -
Bandits keep me supplied with ammo.

If you like dying, come to BEREZINO.
zaphodity (DayZ) replied to Johnny Depth's topic in General Discussion
Famous last words. Make peace with your gods little man. -
$70 for a nanny server. Screw that.
-
Who's bright idea was it to introduce penalty servers ? Was it the same asshole who complained about server hopping to get an M4, even though they do it themselves? This decision, like most of your decisions in your moronic retarded life, will come back to bite you on your dumb arse.

Read first before you complain about other players
zaphodity (DayZ) replied to DirtyscumbagLith's topic in General Discussion
Yeah....right. That's like saying castles being built for protection during the dark ages helped stop the invention of the atomic bomb. BBBBZZZZZZZT ! Incorrect. Thank you for playing anyway. No, it just lead to the invention of gun powder. And the invention of gun powder, lead to the invention of the atomic bomb. -
[Guide] Surviving as a Lone Wolf
zaphodity (DayZ) replied to StayAlive (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
That's quite true. When i'm scoping out a town I always check the zombie numbers. Lots of zombies means no humans. Also means there's usually plenty of loot. Soon as possible get the hell out of, or away from, Cherno and Elektro. Only thing you'll find in the popular towns are camper snipers. When you are moving, always stop every couple of minutes, crouch down and look around, especially behind you. Use the landscape (hills etc) to your advantage. I use the prone position to creep up to stuff all the time. Try to avoid running out in the open where possible, stick to trees and wooded areas. And yes, water, food and bandages are more important than M4's or Mosins in regards to survival. Your most valuable weapon is your brain, try using it for a change. -
You think that's the games fault, or peoples fault ? I think you will find it's the same way in RUST.
