Please! Add to the game the opportunity to develop vegans or raw foodists!
janol replied to koba09's topic in Suggestions
I take it you can be vegan in the game even as it is, but you should expect it to be quite a bit harder. Beans are vegan, after all. Sourcing vitamin B12 would be hard, but on the other hand it does not matter in game terms, as consequences are years away... -
Yeah, well this has been typically suggested as some sort of an anti-KoS or anti-banditry mechanic, but it I think it is worth considering out side that box. I think it should be more complex than OP's suggestion. I don't quite think that zeds should cause people to hallucinate.

Look, OP. In this forum people are allowed comment and expected to criticize suggestions. I wasn't even particularly unconstructive, just put out my opinion. You just can't tell others to shut up in "your" thread, that's not OK. Take a look at some other threads to see what unconstructive comments can be like :) And don't go on insulting others, either. (And while you are at it, edit your above message so it does not appear that I wrote what you actually wrote.) By the way, you will not starve if you know what you are doing - some of us know how to prepare for such things as prolonged stays in backcountry :) And I just meant that knowing things like that is part of the game.

Server resources. Pretty much that. Also many models are still from ArmA, so they were made with that game in mind. The premise of this game is that you wake up right after the apocalypse - that's why you don't have anything usable on you, that's why you exhaust yourself easily in the beginning before you get used to all the running etc.. In the mod it was more obvious, but I take it that the timeline will become more evident later.

It is not that long since the outbreak, just few days at most, I think. This has been occasionally discussed. So no problem with the fruits... Hence nothing to fix. Except, maybe that the world should be slightly fresher in general.
-
Well you are over sensitive, surely. I read it carefully enough to start with. And for the record, I still stand by opinion. But it seems you don't quite understand words you use. For your information, rural areas = countryside. So please do not accuse me of spewing nonsense! Running around and starving with nothing do at all happens if you dont know what you are doing. That's all in the spirit of this game.

Another troll thread from OP ... Needless to say, "NO" to his suggestions.
-
Indeed, where are the basements & cellars?! On the other hand, I disagree with you complaint about empty countryside - it should be sparse.

Reasonably good idea, utterly ungrammatical post.

What do we really want as far as Character Progression?
janol replied to crimsonbzd's topic in Suggestions
I take it that "saved gear" = tents etc. ... All in for that sort of stuff. (Other kinds of "bases" just seems unworkable, really.) I'd love skills, but so many dislike the idea, that I'll just let it pass. Also, what do you mean by "persistent". I hope you aren't assuming skills to accumulate accross character lives? -
Well animals ough to be in. It is just a development delay. They will be added.
-
DayZ, your number one ladder climbing survival game Now with Zombies! Zombies should be optional, really.
-
Ok, so it seems GPS's should eventually become useless (thanks for pointing this out). But then again, the game takes place just after the apocalypse... I wonder if their degradation should be an in-game process - that would be funny :)

Satelites will not cease to operate in just few days.

Some nice ideas here, I particularly liked these (to mention few): On the other hand, I disliked some, for example 6 hour day/nigh cycle. These lenghty mixes are hard to comment on... Maybe would be a good idea to thematically split up the content into different messages.
-
I suppose there will be bunches of different Kalashnikov variants later on... The current gun selection surely is one more "placeholder".
-
Well you're in for some grinding... But, no. And maybe its just me, but I've never understood these bloody "achievements" anyway. If I am playing a game, why on earth would I enjoy getting these stupid stamps for whatever, especially when everyone else playing with even half a heart will eventually get the same? Nah, no sticker collecting, please.
-
What a twisted notion of cool. Anyways, I've never quite liked zeds doing all the ladder climbing, and I am even bit uneasy about them opening doors (bashing them down, ok, but not opening). Surely one is allowed to be bit more creative than just thinking there are two types of zombies, "Romeroan" and "28 day-ish" ... Reasoned mix could be cool for Dayz.

I think some of the new interriors in city buildings are pharmacies or hardware stores. I don't quite think they spawn proper loot at the moment, though.

Normal cars. Mostly civilian. Reasonably rare. Thanks.

I don't think that the map needs to full of "points of interest". It should be like a map of country, with plenty of boring "middle-of-nowhere" countryside. Only things I think could be placed somewhere near the middle are 1) firestation, 2) civilian hostipital. And that it because it seems to me such things would be logical in those locations. In short, I'd prefer "logical" map to ad hoc "interesting" one..

Yes, I need a suit. At least leather shoes are in game already. Also, more casual clothing is needed in general. Now it seems like everyone in Chernarus was either in military or crazed survivalist.

Am I the only one who gets the rather unhappy feeling that quite many pro-VOIP guys are just spamming this thread with comments with no content or argument at all, belittling if not outstraight disrespecting the opinions of others? Some courtesy in the midst of disagreement would be much appreciated, and it will get point through so much better. Also, please remember that neither OP nor most of us on the other side of this exchange have been demanding any implementation of actual restriction on third party communication. My bet is just that once people start to realize that this a non grata thing, they will cut down the practice, and move to use in-game communication.
