In the screen where's the plat, change server and all that, double click on the name (bottom-right corner) press delete and type whatever name you want. It worked for me.

I gathered some basic supplies like a backpack, some food, motorbike helmet and an axe before head to NE airfield, by the time i got there the server was ~15/40. I was very supprised to find the door of the jail closed so i rushed in with hopes up, cleaned the place, loots of ammo and clothes but no guns "damn", on my way out (1st floor) i hear some steps, so i turn around to see a halfgeared grasshopper with a fx45 trying to aim at me, we both panic, he missed a whole clip, i barely manage to get out my axe, by the time he reloads i'd smaked him twice, he runs 3 steps and logs off. "Well... fuck you!" About an hour later near NW airfiled, server is now ~20/40, i know that by now all the good stuff is gone so i'm thinking, "Why not, maybe i can take what's leftover", 15min later i'm inside some near-empty barracks only badly damaged stuff so i decide to move on a check the rest of the compound, on my way out *steps* "...Not again", i'm in the corridor, at the end of it (opposite from the entrance) stands what appears to be a fully geared maniac with an M4, he shoots, i manage to get in a room and get my axe out, i'm bleeding big time, "i don't think im gonna make it", *steps* he's coming to end the job, i scream in the microphone "I'll take you with me fuckface!", i run to him, he doubts, i guess he didn't expect me to fight back like that, i hit him with my fire axe, he vanishes. Bandage and run before he comes back to finish me off. Seriously, if you're bleeding you shouldn't be able to log off, i mean, like when you're unconcious, you log off your character dies.. Fuck server hopping! Fuck fuck fuck, fuckity fuck!.

That has happen to me a lot too, hear shots, run for cover, locate 'em and as soon as i see them *poof* log off... Even while being a fresh spawn and he was full geared... WTF!

There's a whole forum section for new players, where any of your questions no matter how *noobish* they are, will be answered with pleasure and not much delay. I encourage you to read forum rules, announcements and last but not least... Use the "Search" tool, it's there for something. We have sections for several reasons, to keep track of things and to have certain degree of order... Rule #1: Don't get attached to your gear.

I would kill for any kind of vehicle, car, bike, skate, anything at all. Vehicles are already confirmed, i can't see how this topic gets us anywhere.

Only advise i can give you at the moment is: Don't get attached to your gear. DayZ have a lot of potential,this is an early alpha, you knew what you were getting into, think before posting(ranting) and avoid getting tangled on sterile discussions, there's A LOT of 'em around, luckly not all.

I do it usually when i get 'full gear', and yes, it's completely safe... Unless you run into a server restart o r one of those rare 'OMG where the item went?!'

I hate that too, seen m4, mosin, all sorts of ammo... WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARG "So close... Yet so far..."

None of the above, i simply go with the flow baby! Yesterday i put on ruined clothes and i aproached people asking "Hey man, do you have tuna? I'd suck ya' dick for a can of tuna", one dude ran away, 3 tried to kill me and the 4th succeded, none of 'em talked back to me, people got no sense of humour...

I can't see how a currency would be something we need... You want something you don't have, you look for it, trade it or kill for it. Currency... Seriously, what were you thinking? I mean, beside increase your number of posts.

I was minding my own bussiness scouting, trying to avoid zombies and people to loot in peace, when a wrench whistled over my head, as i turned around and got my axe in the hands i saw a clown masked devil that inmediately mumbled something in german, axed him in the chest.

I've been for short time in the forum but i've already seen several topics (rants) about 3rd persons view being a game breaker, or that needs to be fixed to avoid it's exploitation (4th wall, fog of war), that it needs to be removed completely from the game... Lots of back and forth about the 'morality' of use and abuse of 3rd person view, the reality is that is allowed in many servers (not all), And everyone has good reasons to defend their preferred view some people likes it better one way or the other either for tactical advantage, easier surroundings awareness, game inmersion... Truth to be told, i believe this is a minor issue, i don't see a problem at all other than there needs to be added an option for server filtering by view type. Simple as: "Don't like 3rd person view (as it is) or the fact that some people takes advantage of it? Don't go on servers that allows it." Let morality sort itself out, meanwhile let's kill some zombies and share a can of tuna shall we?
