So I should create a company that buys botnets, then tracks down the owners and charges them to fix their security holes...sweet :)

It's all good, I'm learning. Every death makes me quicker and get to know my way around better. I had a pistol within an hour. At any rate I wish there was a way to see who killed you and ...enact revenge. Funny thing was he wasn't a kid he sounded like an adult but...whatever lol. I was bitter for a few minutes and yelled obscenities into the mic but I doubt you can talk dead. I was going to go after them but spawned way the feck up north. On another note totally unrelated I've found a server that is an instant reset if you join it, that was very irritating also. And I can't remove it from my history so if I misclick again poof all gone! :(

It's a shame this isn't how most players work... For example: I am fairly new to the game and have only been playing a week, maybe a little more. Anyway I had help getting into the game and have been palling around with people when possible. So I was bored Saturday afternoon and hopped in game. Fully equipped to the teeth with 2 magnums, a pistol, a m4, 600 rounds of ammo mixed, lots of food and sodas. I was trotting around and saw 2 fresh spawns running up the railroad tracks talking to each other. I approach and one of them immediately screams "There is another player with a gun!!!" Quickly I raise my hand and say Hello and holster my M4. I asked if they needed any food or drinks and one of them said yes. So i gave him some. The other guy obviously more experienced said they were heading to the airfield and said I could accompany them if i wanted to. I was bored so said SurE! We continue running up the tracks, I chat with them for 10-15 minutes. Then the one guy says he has a buddy waiting for us in Elektro to meet up with us. No big deal. As we approach Elektro I head a BANG! I immediately jet for the nearest building but righ t before I get to the door I hear BANG again then "You are dead" I lay there a second not knowing if i can be revived or not, I am new...Then I hear the voices. "HAHAHAHA, my buddy was waiting here for him so we could kill him and steal his shi*" "Take whatever you need but leave the guns for me" "Your buddy killed him, after he helped us?" "Yea I didn't trust him anyway" I'm sorry I gave you food, drink and didn't kill you, yes I am obviously the one to not be trusted!

Add me I'm EST and looking for a few people to run around with :) Will be on most of the evening tonight

Its been like 2 hours of eating and drinking, cans of food, bag or rice, 2 canteens of water, gorged at a fountain...why is there no status or something indicating whats wrong or is just not implemented yet?

So I'm pretty new and learning a lot but this doesn't seem right. I was running around, got totally lost, exhausted all my food and water and was on the brink of death when after 5 or so "You are dying of starvation" messages I finally found the freakin coast and got some food and water in me. Have since totally filled up. "I am really full" is what it says, but my screen is perma black and white. And I am totally weak or something. If a zombie even clips me in full gear I instantly go unconcious and have to log out because when I wake up my body is mysteriously sliding across the ground. Can't get up, can't move, cant do anything. Then when I log back in screen is still black and white, and I can move again.

Didn't realize it was so rare. I threw one away yesterday along with 100 rounds of ammo for it. I'm new to the game and figured an M4 was better which I had just found so I ditched the Mosin...did I make a mistake?

Wow thanks for all the great replies, it helps a lot. So basically I can jump servers and I still have the same character and my supplies. That is good to know because I can't find anything on the server I'm on and I'm going to starve soon but I've collected quite a lot of stuff , just not food to be found anywhere. Been through every house in like 4 towns. As for respawn, glad I'm not the only one with that problem.

So I read a lot of the newbie posts and guides and some stuff just doesn't make sense or isn't working as I think it should for me. When I join a server I get a new character. Is that my character ONLY on that 1 server? So basically if the other 40 people log out then I'm playing by myself? How come I can't respawn... EVER? I get a "preparing, testing 1-2-3 and then nothing but a black screen. I never respawn ever. Makes it hard to pick a server and play there if I can never respawn How do you know what is "inland" to go loot? I started on a map, I ran around for a full hour. This was supposedly a 38/40 server. I never saw 1 person. I saw 3 zombies...I eventually just quit and went to do something else What is the purpose of magazines and other stuff that has no nutritional value and doesn't work as a weapon? I have never once seen "meds" of any kind so how do I freakin stop from bleeding? I read I need to tear a shirt up among other things. When I see a shirt my only option is picking it up. Only once have I see the option to tear a shirt up. I did find a medkit once, but it was "stuck" in the wall and I was not able to pick it up. I've seen this 3-4 times already. Items stuck in walls near doors and I can't take them! When I hit "/" key and type does anyone see it, because no one ever answers? Also I do not have a MIC hooked up as my computer is in the family room and people are usually watching TV but I should still be able to hear people right? I've never heard anyone? How do you make "gestures"? Someone like waved at me once, sat down on the ground, threw his hands up in the air...The only thing I can find to do is Crouch, Lay and Stand...? How do you drop something? When I drag something from my inventory to the left side, it disappears. It does not go on the ground, it's just gone! Thanks to anyone who can give me some quick answers so I can hopefully enjoy this game more because right now I'm finding it hard to enjoy walking around aimlessly with no interaction what so ever with anyone other than those who simply want to kill me for items they don't need and end my time on that server since I can't respawn

I had exactly the same problem. Unfortunately I had to uninstall and re-download the game, and after re-install it worked perfectly.
