Well, I really like this, a small chance of happening, I like the helicopter idea. But the radius would/should be very small, about 5-10km2 since you don't want the entire map to hear it and rush into one big massacre. And about SOS signals, I think walkie talkies should be 1-3km2 and for a 30-50km2 radius you should somehow use the radio towers up the hills to send the message.

Well that wouldn't be fair/fun since you would just know your blood type at all times and it would just ruin the "find a guy with the same bloodtype" idea.
