    walkies need an exclusively in-game feature to justify their use, no one will use this outside of a role playing session. example: having a walkie on you allows radio tower broadcasts to be heard or nearby players with a walkie give off static to give away their position or walkies can be used to set traps by broadcasting it from another walkie in sniper range...

    imagine the lag and desync if you actually looked/stood near to a 100+ zombies? i don't think we will ever see "10,000 zombie servers"
  5. staying on the arma/RV engine instead of making (gasp!) a new one or licensing (gasp!) an established one ... was the greatest flaw ever and has tainted every problem and limitation so far

    what happens when that one rotten banana that didn't get picked up stops the entire north east quadrant from respawning the loot? randomized. individual. loot. respawning. picked up a magazine, but nothing else in the room? only the magazine's drop spot will respawn a loot item, and not another magazine.

    this can be exploited. "spawning near your friends" is an easy-mode concept that has never been resolved by the devs. they know they need a steady stream of scrubs to keep buying the game based on youtube whoring. place the beacon in your base, another clan's base, at nwaf... hop until you've ghosted and hoarded everything. no thanks.
  10. cone fire doesn't go away zombies are never really "fixed" companion pets and in-game babystitting crafting and basebuilding that plays and feels like minecraft hunting and cooking being over-complicated the health system going full retard regarding "realism" dev supported sever hopping and base ghosting mmo aspects such as factions, pets, mounts, clothing, accessories that give passive boosts clientside items that should be server side

    i've gotten used to 200+ ping servers. the lowest ping to a server i've ever had was 15. (hosted 4 km away IRL) edit: also no, the servers are not ddos'd lol just general lagginess of dayz

  14. basically i was afraid the devs were supporting server hopping not it seems they are supporting hive hopping too from public to private and back again is going to DESTROY this game.

    i hope we get a proper hardcore mode. where the client detects 3rd party VOIP and broadcasts your location in flashing green and red arrows for breaking the immersion.

    console version will have limited MP. (server size) you will pay a premium membership fee to play the game online. you will have to learn to play it with a controller. there will be no mods, no modded servers, no private hives.

    private hives are coming before barricading? there will most likely be a premium cost associated with a private hive server, they will always be full and cleared out. loot re-spawn, then private, then barricades.

    mosin with LRS = valid weapon, best for overall use, sniping.... m4 with MP/AGOG/60 rnd mag = everything in-range around me is dead

    dayZ will be best when it is modded. hardcore modded. my skyrim mod folder is about 60GB running about 150 mods, affecting textures, AI, physics, everything. i'm gonna run dayZ much more modded then that.
  22. there is no time to build a simple character customization menu or implement simple texture changes.... horses and animal husbandry and companion pets come FIRST

    how can i ACTUALLY test my barricaded building, when people who are "testing" server hopping (still...lol) are base raping me by ghosting?

    how about radio beacons? signal gets stronger the closer you get to it the beacon is dynamic and has rare loot, just like the heli crash sites in the mod. i liked that dynamic area/event aspect.
  25. i figured the game was a pvp-pve sandbox. not "get highest-tier-everything-and-companion-pet"
