I had something similar where I would log in, and always be 9313 health, no matter if I took dmg or ate food to max out my health. Later on, after I got knocked out, the same thing started happening with knock outs. Everytime I logged on I would lay there unconcious for a couple of minutes. A friend of mine was permanently stuck at 3000+ health each time he logged on, no matter how many meats he ate. He eventually fixed it by downgrading to 1.7.0, going to a 1.7 server. Eating. Then upgraded to 1.7.1 I didnt try it with the KO problem I was having. But it might work. Also haven't tried it since 1.7.1.1 (maybe they fixed something in the hotfix)

Leave the server. Do a filter search for 'canada 2'. Join that server. It will spawn you in the debug forest (the debug forest is much closer to the world map than the wilderness area). Run east for 2-3 minutes and you'll be back in civilzation.

YES but: Im in favour of starting without a gun, But i'd like to see melee weapons in first (if poss) or reduced ammo

I dont like the crow or fly idea but I think... If you have recently looted a player you should have flies buzz around you. This debuff should last for 10minutes to symbolize getting someones blood on your hands... Or perma debuff that you need to wash off with water from a canteen.
