As you only quoted me, I presume that your response is solely to me. So I shall retort. I must have rare luck, because I have fun in this alpha. I did expect it, but at no point did I demand it. What makes you think I did? Also, what makes you think my feedback is limited to complaining about expectations? You seem to be rolling up other peoples replies into mine, which I find perplexing - Are you able to tell the difference between different posts on the forum? The significant changes of late have not affected game play, so I agree with you there, but ultimately that's what you were trying to throw in my face; that there had been major changes that affect the game. There hasn't. And then we come to you putting words in my mouth again - I didn't say I was frustrated, I stated I found myself retiring from the game because I found it "...seriously lacking in entertainment value at times." There is only so much excitement a new gun or piece of clothing can generate in any game. And when did I "shit on" any body? In any way? Especially the devs? Perhaps when I stated my expectations of the game? But wait... I didn't! When I encounter a bug (which isn't all that often) I do report it with all relevant information to the feedback tracker. I don't come here and shit all over "it" (whatever "it" is to you. I don't want to make an assumption because "it" could be "anything"). Again you must be having difficulties with other posters posts all blending in to one big one. That is not the case. To further elaborate I watched my son play this game for a month before I decided to grab a copy. I was well aware of what it entailed, and I was happy to be included. The only expectations I had buying the alpha was what I was told (as were all of you) by the developers. Changing project priorities and business expansion are sure to cause delays in progress made, and with these in consideration (as per my last post), and at the current rate of progress, it is not feasible that the game will go into beta any time soon. I am not shitting on anyone by saying this, I am simply stating fact. If my conclusion offends you - Too bad. I'm not out to shit on you or anyone else, I've just done some simple math and made my results known. How long do you think it will take before the game reaches beta, considering the current release rate and delays?
-
At the risk of sounding like a jerk to both parties I am well aware of what buying into the Alpha entails, but I was not expecting such severe delays in the developers releasing content. An alpha is about stabilising and adding, the beta is for refinement and optimisation. With the current rate of updates to DayZ I find it difficult to believe that the game will be in beta any time in the next 12 to 18 months. As it stands I find myself 'retiring' for weeks on end, because nothing changes in the game, and it can be seriously lacking in entertainment value at times. That said, I have been enjoying it since the last patch, and can't wait for .45 - I tried testing on experimental but the rubberbanding made it unplayable.

I just upgraded to an ATi R9 290 and I still get poor frame rates in cities. I can run Watch Dogs at 80+ fps consistently but I'm lucky to break 45 fps running around Cherno. That said, I'd prefer in game vehicles over graphics optimisations, so I am happy for now!

OH THE HUGE MANATEE!!! Why wasn't I warned at some stage? Preferably when the game loads!
-
I am outraged that a beta I am participating in is having BUGS! How offensive!!! In all honesty though, it was pretty frustrating! I will be back on experimental as soon as it's fixed.

Quite often I have people in my sights but I never kill them if they are minding their own business. I'm never in a position to be spotted, so unless they're real arseholes I leave them alone and take pleasure in the fact that I could end their current digital incarnation with a mouse click. -
In the event that the complete game is not released without modifications then this might be the best bet.

I'm scared! Games that are guilty of "...depicting drugs as a power-up..." are refused classification in Australia. This has happened a few times and sometimes the game is altered to accommodate this legal requirement. Other times the games don't come out at all. Given that DayZ has yet to be classified by the Australian Classification Board, due to the whole "Alphaness" of the situation, I have some concerns that the game may not meet the requirements set forth by the uptight poo-nosed fiddlers that govern our list of acceptable media. The Left 4 Dead series features the Adrenalin Shot, and was let in under the MA+ rating. Some alterations happened for the Aussie release of L4D2 because of violence and gore concerns - This was before the introduction of the Australian R18+ classification for games. I believe that DayZ uses real world pharmaceuticals in a real world context - They should not constitute a "Power Up" as they do not grant the player additional abilities, only the chance to replenish or renew previously existing abilities. One of two things will happen: 1. The representation of drugs in DayZ will be considered acceptable and there will be no problems. 2. The Australian Classification Board will detect some sort of foul scent in their nostrils as they study the game. It will be refused classification, pending changes to in-game assets and interactions. Why am I scared? I want to continue to play DayZ, and I acquired it legally via Steam. If the ACB refuses classification will Australians get to play under the "Alpha" or "Beta" guise in order to sidestep the villainous tyrants that won't let us take virtual drugs?

I am legitimately scared every time I log in

I only have 70 hours under my belt, and I find the possibility of human interaction in this game horrifying. 90% of the people I have met I should have shot on sight, the other 10% were a lot of fun to play with. Personally, I find both kinds of encounters are awesome, but for very different reasons. Also, climbable trees, pleeeeeeez! -
Did something just happen to the character servers?

I don't mind the character reset, but I do mind not being able to play!!! I have to go to bed soon and I have work tomorrow. I don't want to wait 19 hours until I can play again. -
I have yet to use a gun against anyone other than bandits. I like to search and loot, and if people need help, I give them help. Bandits get shot on sight.
