    My ponderings

Hi all love the game so far, and cant wait for further updates... great job guys, keep going! I generally want to see less PvP 'Kill on sight' type play though, because people are preying on those who are not playing the game in that way. I'm not going to whinge about banditry, but I just think its more fun to team up to face a common enemy than ourselves, and there's frankly loads of better PvP games. How to achieve this...? Setup 'PvP' scoring, so that all the naughty bandits can all play together and shoot each other all day long - hell, you could even set up a PvP league table for them. The way it could work is, you can only get on a 'Friendly' server with PvP participation scoring, and very low PvP deaths - like if you are defending yourself, or accidentally kill somebody. Oops etc... there also should be zombies killed count, which allows extra weapons / mods etc. (Likewise, PvP servers should have their own mods for PvP death count) The other thing (that I've seen mentioned) is that the game needs more zombies, like thousands of the things (This would also encourage participation behaviour) - this would be great. I was thinking a 'world' should have a few 'herds' of say, 200+ zombies, and every town should be difficult to 'take' from them - say 20 - 50 zombies in a small town, and several hundred in a large city, but with more loot, so its more worthwhile. Nothing better than being chased by 5+ zombies, and getting away, or teaming up to take down a heard for oodles of loot? (Or at least a stack of ammo) I know thousands of zombies is server heavy and presents an infrastructure challenge, but I could maybe help with that (I design large multi-server infrastructure) - so feel free to PM me if anybody is reading. Could the code be compiled to run on AIX or something like Cobol? Looked into SMP / NUMA? (Sorry if this is dumb-ass question, I'm sure you have!) enjoy Cheers, FBF

Bandit? Or just playing the game?

Im starting to think thats the right choice, but its a shame as he might have shared his food if you asked him. I would have shared if you asked me.

    KOS - A Philosophical Discussion

Im only new on dayz, but all the posts about kos suggest to me that its decending into pure pvp, which isnt what i bought it for. As everybody gets more annoyed with kos, it will convert the middle ground over. Shame really...
  4. Im saying play the game, but with people who want to play it in the same way, with similar goals so everybody is happy. The more pvp kills you make, the more you would be aligned with pvp only players / servers. This stops guys who play friendly getting peed off by the players who just want to kos. Nothing is more annoying than having somebody in your sights, giving them a chance, then they slot you. Its cutting off that entire teamwork element which a lot of players want, not kos.
  5. I recon just keep a kill count, then have a range of servers, the pvp killers will then only be allowed on high kill count servers. Only Friendlys can join a low kill count server.... simple?
