Bio
I'm a long range sniper specializing in pin-point accuracy and navigation throughout the DayZ world. With my prestine(lol) ability to navigate throughout any terrain, my keen ability to determine the distance of a target easily, I will cover you while you look with maximum efficiency.
This is DayZ. This is real life.

Hey Guys, I've been trying to get my Xbox controller to work with the game for quite a while. Currently, it's only working for running and navigating and even then, I still can't seem to configure it properly to easily take out an item or to aim my weapon. Are there any players able to play DayZ solely on an Xbox controller? And if so, what are your key mappings? It'd be nice to lounge and play this game on a controller, and the game appears to already have support for it. Obviously this isn't a priority, but for entertainment purposes is anybody aware of any patches that may reflect better useability for an Xbox controller?

I'm running a 2.2k build and I average at 22 FPS with everything maxed out and recording. Resolution @ 1920x768 I beleive. 1080p quality. My videos are excellent, but a 2 1/2 minute segment is about 4 GB. Making it nearly impossible to upload anywhere.. So, yeah. 300$ probably won't cut it. You may be able to load the game via twitch.tv, but I wouldn't count on rendering an entire server population anytime soon.

I was walking to class one day. I saw a pen on the ground and I thought, "When the hell am I going to be able to actually use these?" Then the brisk cold weather of Michigan slapped me in the face and I realized, this is real life.

There goes Irenicus again with her little persona. An admin should rename her account to Debbie, because Debbie's a Downer and nobody likes a Debbie Downer.

DayZ will be ruined by immature gamers

DayZ has more than enough money for development. I fail to see your point here. Immature gamers cannot ruin the game, mainly because the DayZ development team has more than enough cash to proceed. Not to mention they have ~5 developers...Typically games of this magnitude have multiple teams at the very least working at different angles. This is 5 people. They don't care what you think, what I think, or what anyone thinks. So long as it's the #1 sold game on steam, and the development team comes through on their promises for periodic updates and patches, there is no threat at all to development. It'd be another thing if DayZ was some idea in the works who, a bunch of college kids designed it and are collecting a fund raiser. But it's not. It's modled after an Arma 3 mod that was highly succesful, and I'm assuming they also collected user behavior so they are also well aware of user interactions in-game. The only factor they may not have considered is the fact that DayZ is a civilian based as opposed to Arma, but even that's just a minor change in scenario and not a critical change to the game engine itself. In either case, I definately agree that complaining isn't going to solve anything. However, the DayZ development team has more than enough $$ to contract Microsoft on their programming, and to start making commercials and push it forward within 6 months - to the point that we wouldn't even reconize the game outside of the map and the inner-game framework that makes DayZ what it is. I'm a software engineer/developer. That's just my take. -
PVP = player vs player. DayZ implements an entirely new aspect to that scenario: charisma Try charming your enemies. They'll turn their backs on you quicker.

We NEED some way to identify heros and bandits.

Not the be that guy, but you're always going to have pirates attempting to impersonate the trusted in order to screw over those that they deem as worthy. What could be done, however, is a Karma system. Indicators based on player interactions and likelihood to either defend oneself, or to out-right start killing without mercy. Such an indicator would let you know of a players in-game 'history'. However, you still would not be safe from moles and avid players that are determines to undermine a trusted group and bring it down. Then, all a player would have to do is carefully orchestrate his/her decisions so that the individual may then be trusted and placed into the perspective position that the alleged mole is after. Once in that position, say, a sniper in a trusted squad with no one else near, the sniper can then claim he's been shot and killed while killing the entire squad himself. Or pherhaps it's just me that comes up with these disatrous scenarios...But hell. if people are capable of Nazi Germany and turning primal in a damn video game to the point that we treat our interactions to the level of reality, i'm sure we'd find some people purely dedicated to backlashing a trusted community just to take it down. All in all, light vs dark no matter which way you look at it; it's just more obvious currently. -
The 'benefaction' you speak of is mainly directed to lure out trolls and the not-so friendly out on the internet. When I see you in-game, be sure to not cry when I snipe you @ 900m. Don't try running either. I know how to lead targets you silly noob.

So it's 3 AM. I'm looking in my fridge for something to snack on, and then I remember how odd it was that in DayZ Soda, could relieve hunger. What did I do? I drank a pop. Hunger Gone!

sorry misread your post

Mmm, gotta love it when you're sitting in the right spot at the right time. I was at the Airfield Southeast on the map by the spawn, and a few guys will all military spawned in one by one right infront of me in a hanger. Gotta love it. I was a fresh spawn too at the time. So, as you guys'll see this, as I'm sure you will, THANK YOU for all of your stuff. You did my group and I wonderful and you went down without a hitch.

It would be totally cool if, when vehicles or bikes are allowed, we are able to pick up steros/build our own sound systems with parts and run around doing whatever it is your heart desires, with an awesome wave of bass following your wake.
