    Sleep Deprevation

That's why I put my character to sleep by turning the game off when I do things like go to work, sleep in real life, eat meals, or hang out with friends. Why does there need to be mechanic in-game to replicate the act of not playing it? Are you playing DayZ 24/7? I hope not.

see no more join=kick servers? you're welcome

People who actually report bad server hosts... *insert well known meme here* ...you da real mvp.

    Eggs

I wouldn't recommend eating any eggs you find in a chicken coop unless there are live chickens nearby. Also, while you can probably technically harvest an unlayed egg from a dead chicken, it wouldn't really be like a fully developed laid egg (though probably still edible). I think harvesting meat is plenty. It would be cool if coops with live chickens nearby had some eggs though. I would love to be able to catch the chickens and carry them around in your hands and take them to your home-base chicken coop in order to start collecting eggs.

Will admins to have option for a dexterity free server?

It determines your efficiency with light weapons such as rapiers and daggers, and ranged weapons like long-bows and short-bows. I think it also covers thrown weapons.

    Possibilities for the endgame

I thought DayZ already has an end-game scenario? "you are dead" That's worked for me so far.

    Persistence Poles

The only pole you need to protect and claim your land is breech loaded and already in-game.

Now that we have seen the SVD...

Maybe their calling it the "SVD, Druganov" (notice the comma). As in, they say it's full abbreviation first, and then the other nickname for added clarity as if saying: "The SVD, you know... the Druganov." It's a stretch, but I like to play the devil's advocate.

too many "do not join" servers to report

Paying money to gain an advantage over those who aren't paying money. You are encouraging a Pay 2 Win play-style. Go play H1Z1 if that's what you want. If you are saying it doesn't effect anybody, you are wrong. They are kicking people so they can completely loot their own server and then return to the public servers fully geared and ready to dominate the rest of the Free-2-Play community. Do you really think they are kicking people off there server and playing only on that server? Who would they even play against if they stayed? You are either naive the the purpose of kicking like this and the consequences to the rest of the community, or you are one of the guys doing it.

    Catch 22

Like you, they just happened to be nearby. You answered you question yourself. One of the reasons helicopter crash sites are so volatile is because of their limited yet valuable loot. You said they had no reason to kill you, but consider this... If they had let you live would they then be obligated to share the helicopter loot with you, a stranger? No, you are direct competition for the gear. Leaving you alive means basically giving you the valuables they covet for themselves. Not only that, but what if you found a gun at the helicopter, and turned on them to kill them and collect their gear. Of course they would expect you to put your axe away when they have guns. They were protecting their own best interests and their lives. Nobody is friendly at helicopter crash sites unless they are already your trusted companion. I have never found a crash site yet, but I can tell you I will not approach any other players there if I do.

    Catch 22

I wouldn't go so far as to say that, only that you might be playing it wrong. One of the most important concepts you need to grasp is "self preservation." Be more cautious and careful with how you loot. I've been shot dead many times with no shooter in sight, when I thought I was alone because I was running from building to building. Take a stealthier approach and consider survival (from other players) the greatest challenge in the game. Trust no-one. You can and will find friendly players but never fully let your guard down or let them get the upper hand on you. Approach other players with extreme caution and a healthy fear. Don't reveal yourself until you get an idea of who their are. These challenges are what really make DayZ what it is. The player interaction and duality of survival and companionship. I mean be honest, what gives you the greatest thrill while playing Dayz? It's those tense moments at the beginning of any player interaction. Without people who killed you or threatened you, this thrill would be lost.

    Catch 22

It's pretty well understood that these types of locations are combat zones. Everyone is competing for the gear found there, and they were protecting themselves from your threat. Even though you said you weren't, they have no reason to trust you or think you'll kill them as soon as you get some gear or they turn their backs. That is the game, you played it your way, and lost. No such thing, and I'm pretty sure it's against the rules to title the servers like that. I know it's against the rules to ban them for it at least.

    Bounty Idea

You can already do that. When you spawn as a bambi, tell the first people you see about the guy that killed you, and ask for their help. Offer them a reward. Bam. The bounty system is already in the game.

    Larger Inventory Space

This^ This guy nails it. Yes it's unrealistic, but games are designed with limitations that force critical thinking and planning; it's what makes them engaging, challenging, and fun.

    Remove books and other ideas

Since when are books not useful? Whenever I need a fire, I always run to nearby town and grab a few books for tinder. It would be really sad if I had to search for hours for something as common as paper for a fire. It's nice to have a fairly common and reliable resource, even if it's only useful in specific situations. It's a game, there are going to be some "gamey" elements even if they are unrealistic. Again, this is a game. Unless you are playing for 24 hours at a time, then in-game elements that rely on the passage of time will need to be accelerated. If it wasn't then you would hardly ever have to eat at all. I know I wouldn't. I would have one meal, then likely die before I ever had to feed again. Think about it, you have 200 hours in-game: that's only about 8 full days. If you wanted your character have to eat realistically regarding the passage of time, then at 3 meals a day, that is only 24 meals. Do you really want to play a survival game where you only have to eat 24 cans of beans every 200 hours of game-time? I don't.

    Does DayZ need aeiral transport?

Some of the most fun I had in the mod was finding parts to fix up that small little Huey and flying it around the map looking for crash sites until someone caught up to and murdered me. Then I would do it all over again. I would also pick up random survivors and take them with me sometimes. Lots of fun. I didn't really care for the gun-ships though.

    Exp Update: 0.55.126884 Discussion

Great news. What are the zombie spawning mechanics like? Are there any or is it just on server restarts? I'm assuming it's unchanged from previous iterations, but I thought I would ask since I'm not 100% sure on the current mechanisms for current zombie spawning anyway.
  17. Just last night I saved a guy and his mate who were stuck in a flipped truck by letting them walk out onto my body. They were fully geared with Smersh vests and swords. I was decently geared myself and was telling them how I got lucky at the Balota airfield and ended up with some gear I've never had before. They proceeded to tell me about the server he runs with his friends and that I can go there and buy gear-sets and all the proceeds go to server costs. I assume the guys just loot heli-crash sites with restarts, or server hop (if not private) to gather it all and then sell these sets to player who want them. I told them I wasn't interested but ended up playing with them for a while before the server I we were on reset. That was the first I'd ever heard of it (though I figured it might be happening in some capacity).

    Improvements to DayZ

Okay, that makes more sense. I still don't really agree with the idea of having skills, your suggestion seems valid now.

    Improvements to DayZ

This is basically a suggestion for another reason to suicide your character at re-spawn. You can't force people to play a certain way based on skills. If I want to play a medic, I don't want to have to have a special skill. If people really want to play a certain play-style, then they would simply suicide until their character got that skill set. That is exactly why this is a bad idea. DayZ is fundamentally built around emergent gameplay. They devs put building blocks there, and the players decide how to play. As soon as the game decides how you play, it becomes a different sort of game. Emergent gameplay is what makes DayZ interesting and sets it apart from other games.

    Parachutes As Looted Item

I will add though, that I doubt those kinds of fans needed to sustain that flight would be easily found in Chernaraus. Maybe fans from an industrial complex, but those would hardly be light enough. It's a little more complex than just strapping an engine to your back. And I still don't see the necessarily resources being available to be able to build something like this. It may be possible to do, but its still pretty far fetched in this environment. Making your own fan like that from scrap still seems a little unrealistic in dayz. I concede to your point though, it's just a little too campy for my tastes.

    Parachutes As Looted Item

I didn't say it was unrealistic in real life. In the setting of DayZ, building an ultralight plane is unrealistic. As a simulation of life in DayZ, I challenge you to build an ultra-light airplane out of a scrap you can find at the junkyard or dump. Feel free to use any items you have around your house or borrow supplies from your neighbors as well. Since you are also unlikely to find a parachute, I give you permission to buy one from army surplus online. Also, you aren't allowed to use the internet to research how to build it. You have one year: GO. DayZ isn't supposed to be some campy post-apocalyptic sci-fi game (the fact that you suggested strapping an engine to your back tells me this is what you are imagining) where we can build anything we want, its a gritty realistic survival game. More on topic: I would really like to see parachutes in game that can function as a multipurpose canvas of sorts, as well as a parachute.

    Typo in Elektrozavdosk?

I always just read it as "Electrostatic" so it doesn't really matter to me.
  25. I am also looking forward to the upcoming shift in gameplay. I was a big fan of the risk-reward mechanic when using load weapons that came with the large numbers of zombies in the mod. I look forward to seeing some more strategic and interesting videos as well as some strategies botched by zombies, or even enemies being forced to cooperate backstabbing each other when the zombies are cleared. As the game progresses, strategy and game-play are certainly going to shift. I think it has to some degree already throughout the life of this project.
