While the interesting Social Experiments thread points in the direction that the majority of KoS and general unfriendliness is caused by teams of players in full military gear, I will on principle regard anyone wearing a clown mask as an enemy. If sagging trousers or bell bottoms were in the game, these would also be included in my list of clothing objects that would make me KoS. -
It seems to be a very "meaty" patch, lots of potentially interesting changes. Here is a few I think especially interesting and of very possible gamechanging importance: - Actions: Cannot use an item (e.g. drink/eat) if it is "Ruined" - Killing characters for food or items made less viable. Food and items made scarcer. - Gestures: Clapping Gesture added, default F5 key - Interesting to see what effect it will have on player interaction - Gestures: Pointing Gesture added, default F6 key - Same- Login: Player queuing system introduced. Penalty waiting time added for switching server or disconnecting a server quickly. - From what I have read of a queuing system in other games, this seem a bit ominous. But hey it's alpha, let's try it out, and hopefully it will mostly affect server hoppers and combat loggers.- Actions: Read/Writing notes with paper and pen now works again - There is going to be so many uses for this.- Effects: Dazed effect plays again when a player is hit/damaged/shot - A detail that seems it might drastically change gunfights.andWhen you disconnect, you character waits around for 30 seconds (currently set in experimental but subject to change) before disappearing. Forgot to include that on patch notes. - Anti combat logging. Interesting. And oh yeah: Machete.

If you get wounded while being in healthy state it should change to "Healing" until you are at full health again. If you still have desaturation of colours after that I recommend relogging. And if that doesn't help I would urge you to bug report it, because that sounds like a strange symptom.

Yeah, the last patch and server updates did seem to makes this happen to a lot of players. I had it as well, my regular hive character is now someone I had several deaths ago. I tend to mostly play hardcore servers now, so it was of little use to me to have that fully kitted guy suddenly appear when I expected the sound of the coast. -
Yup, they sure do. And I am loving every minute of it: Here, Insane Aradia, have a video. Fast forward to around 2:30 and watch a m4 armed player like you get beaten by a freshspawn, no knockout punches even, until the coastbandit has to combat log in shame. Like your kind usually do when faced with the consequences of your actions:

I axed someone yesterday and stole his m4. As I was about to head to bed I moved my character to safety a couple of minutes away from the scene and disconnected. This thread made be go and start up the game today in order to check if I still had the gun. I did. So it seems likely disconnecting helps (the guy was in some barracks at a military base, which would make it likely that his body would have been discovered by other players). Anyway I am going to hide bodies of my victims in the future, especially since this was a server hopper, and he probably went straight back to his body, though all his gear, including about 400 rounds of ammo, had been ruined by my making minced meat out of him with my axe.

Aw, you killed him. That's no way to repay your zombie friend. Seriously, great fun. Those jumping attacks they do also causes damage to other zombies. But the easiest way to kill them is simply getting them to follow you downhill while they perform an attack. For some reason it causes them to stumble to their death.

The Real Reason Loot Doesn't Spawn In Tents Anymore / Some Houses

There are a couple of houses (for example the house with the one-room kitchen and living room with a long corner sofa) and apartments as well, which now spawn nothing but did (and plentifully so) pre-patch. The only addition was the multi-story barn, so overall count there is a lot fewer buildings spawning loot than pre-patch, not just the tents. -

While I have only fallen down at that location once, the first time I visited and only my own clumsiness to blame (but actually surviving the fall via glitchy luck), I have made a rule of only going there when I newspawn, since I have great respect for stairs and ladders and even greater for great pitfalls of doom with no rails or warning signs. -
I have had several resets before, but I have never seen that message as displayed by the OP. Anyway, it is after all the first hours between newspawn and looting that are the most fun in the game. Having geared up just means you are basically a walking loot pile, and, at least for me, I can feel that it kinda inhibits me regarding which risks I am willing to take, meaning less interaction and basically less fun.

Water alone isn't enough though. Except for blood or saline there is no way around the plentyful amounts of food. And it was only a sawn-off, so it was a good call, because that is one step down on the dangerlevel from fists.

Only if you have an attention span like a goldfish it does: "Oh, I spawned in Sol now I just have to go to Berezino or commit suicide. I used to spawn in Balota, which meant I had to go to Balota Airfield or Cherno.The game simply doesn't leave me any other choice!" Sometimes it seems the AI of newspawns is worse than the zombie AI. -

Just an idea, but have you tried going west/northwest? Although newspawns do tend to behave like moths to a flame, last time I checked newspawns wasn't automatically sucked into certain places, you actually do have freedom of movement (unless blocked by armed players of course). So no, those are far from the only "real options". -
Interesting watch. You basically visited most of the the danger spots on the map, and was incredibly lucky for not running into any armed players, except for that ship sniper which met a well deserved fate. Regarding the desaturation it isn't actually bugged, you just need to get the "Healing" (which will eventually turn into "Healthy" status), and that requires a lot of eating. A lot.

Very nice. I was thinking of doing something similar, distributing books at the coast. But then I realised that books would probably be the last thing a newspawn with no inventory space would be interested in. When the server restarts gets removed, I am thinking of setting up a bookshop in one of the abandonded stores in a high population city. If he wants to carry out his occupation with less risk, though, he should wear less camo and definitely not sport a gas mask. Camo symbolises high level of threat as well as good loot in the eyes of most other armed players.

Also, even with enough space in backpack, it often occurs that the mouse doesn't register any item if it is half-glitched through a wall.

My thoughts exactly. One guy even downed with only 1 shot at a medium distance. I can see that without speedloaders it is a pain to use in a firefight situation, though.

Even on full 40/40 servers it is very rare to encounter other players in that place nowadays.
