Seems the logout timer needs some working on. If a person gets killed while logging out, the body most definitely shouldn't disappear when the countdown reaches zero.

"An exploit in video games, is the use of a bug or glitches, rates, hit boxes, or speed etc. by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers". That does indeed qualify as an exploit. But please go on making an ass out of yourself.

POLL Should The Timeout Timer be Increased, Untouched, Reduced or Removed?
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
I agree. It should rise drastically for each re-log. However the first relog penalty is adequate (at least it shouldn't be more), because one has to keep in mind that there is a lot of desynching kicks (and stupid admin kicks who wants their server for themselves) which means a lot of people leaves a server involuntarily. -
They still only need 1 axe hit to be taken down though.
-
The "Respawn" button never worked to begin with. You would click it, then wait hours for nothing to happen. Press "Exit" and change server instead.

Notice this guy is reviving numerous threads dating back from December. It is quite pointless to do that, since we have had several patches since then.
-
Please stop reviving pointless threads.

Helmet ammo? Well, that's new. Next time try reading the OP before replying.
-
I have found tons of ammo for it, but have yet to find the actual rifle. I think someone in some barracks I visited in my search must have found one, because they left behind an m4 with all pristine parts (including silencer and scope), as well as a full double mag inserted in the gun. I would rather have the SKS though.

It is indeed strange with all the "Post new items" threads on the forum regarding latest experimental, that noone has posted images or information about the machete. Especially strange if it i"seems they are all over". Oh well, time to go join a server and see for myself then.

Let's be honest we are all killers.. Try your hardest not to lie. Thanks
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to capt. beefsteak's topic in General Discussion
You have created a thread with the title "Let's be honest we are all killers.. Try your hardest not to lie. Thanks". How is that not designating everyone? Anyway the statement is like that "Have you stopped beating your wife yet?" fallacy. If people contradict your absolute generalisation of every DayZ player, you basically accuse them of lying. Besides the fact that you are tired of getting KoSed, I don't really see the point of this thread. You backpedal your claim about everyone being killers, then suddenly switch back again and call everyone liars. It seems impossible to have sort of rational discussion with a person exhibiting that sort of behaviour. -
So ya food and hunger is pretty messed up.
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to Slyguy65's topic in General Discussion
It is definitely possible in the current stable build (dunno about the current experimental). -
That was hilarious. Beans to you for posting it.

If they add zombie hordes then it would certainly come in handy. But yeah, until then its main use would most likely be an endless row of variations on the subject "reenactment of the scene with the Colombian cokedealers in Scarface".
-
And then it will truly become "You will see me before I see you".
-
You actually only supported his statement about it being "much harder". Whether you find it boring is a subjective evaluation, while the degree of difficulty of that kind of behaviour is not.
-
Then next time please write that instead of making erronous assumptions about my opinion of guns. I have very little interest concerning the motivation of the behaviour I described, since not having done it myself, I would only be able to make uneducated guesses about that. Players can do it because of inflated egos or boredom for all I care, it doesn't change my opinion about it being an extremely daft thing to do.

That is a rather strange reply to my statement. I am talking about armed players literally pointing their gun at unarmed newspawns, telling them to press f2. As far as I can make out of your incoherent post, you seem to be talking about encounters between armed players.
-
I do agree that the whole going-down-to-the-coast-and-hold-up-random-newspawns-at-gunpoint-so-we-can-give-them-some-beans idea is very misguided. As a newspawn I would fight them rather than allow myself to be held up, since I would have no way of knowing their intentions, and the majority of times it is simply not friendly. There are plenty of videos that shows how sour such situations quickly can become, making the "helpers" turn into what is essentially newspawn killers, because the unarmed newspawns refuse to comply to their security measures. If you want to give them gear, go down to the road when theres noone around and drop the gear, then head up the hill again. Don't get into that whole "Stop I am friendly I want to help you"-spiel. If you want to help newspawns more effectively, then patrol the high ground on the coast for snipers, or bandits on the coast. Sure this will sometimes also lead to firefights between players mistaking each other for newspawn snipers, but so be it, at least it provides an entertaining firefight. This is only advice, I am not trying to tell anyone how to play their game, but just don't be surprised if, after holding a newspawn up at gunpoint, while dragging some beans from your inventory you get punched out by them.

I just got killed...by Harry Houdini
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to HerrNelson's topic in General Discussion
It was likely desync, but it did appear at an awfully convenient time for him. -
If this means that the number of zombies on the server would be drastically reduced I would very much prefer a higher number of zombies. Zombie loot would be mostly useless stuff (especially when ruined and badly damaged things aren't working anymore). So I voted no. Would much rather have larger zombie hordes than the ability to find a ruined hat or a ruined can of spaghetti.

The effects of gunshot wounds are currently not very developed, they will be in the future, with broken bones, blurriness of vision, much faster bleeding out etc etc. I find it strange that you would suggest nerfing a working feature like punching in order for it to more resemble an unfinished feature.
-
No, you should be carrying whichever gun you are lucky enough to find and have ammo for, because they should be so rare that you don't get to pick and choose from the entire selection with every character you play. Sorry, I know it has little to do with the subject of this thread, but I really hate the thought of this becoming like the mod where it seems the whole map is one giant free candyshop of highgrade military stuff and badass vehicles and choppers. And yes, of course guns should not be "balanced out". They should resemble their reallife equivalents.

Keeping the coast clear of bandits and suspicious characters that don't listen
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to thelonewarrior's topic in Gallery
I'm fairly certain that that guy was looting himself. He was behaving extremely suspiciously staying in the vicinity and closing in everytime OP turned his back. It seems clear to me he just wanted a second to get his gun back before trying to kill them all. The guy with his hands up also did ask for it. He was free to go, he had shown evidence before that he heard and understood them. He was giving plenty of warnings. A good video, and I wouldn't mind watching sequels with similar content.
