I just don't see that advantage of carrying one main rifle in your hands and one on your shoulder. I have tried it and it is such a hassle to do just about everything else in the game, so much so that, besides carrying a rifle for your friend, the only case where this is to your advantage if is your sole purpose in this game is to wander from one gunfight to another, with no survival playing inbetween. Personally I prefer carrying only one main weapon, and then adapting my playstyle accordingly. A pistol or revolver is of course a necessity, especially if you choose the mosin. I have written off the sawn off. It is simply not worth it, and I would rather trust my axe than that gun in close encounters. If I ever find the SKS that will probably be my prefered rifle on account of its versatility.

Try reporting it as a bug then instead of posting it as a massive rant about developer priorities. Your case is obviously an exception, since I haven't seen anyone else experiencing this problem on such a scale. And please try to restrain your indignation that the devs aren't on this 24/7 just because you just happen to have encountered this problem, because it seems somewhat out of proportion.

I would be very surprised if this isn't implemented somewhere down the road of development. At least I have always assumed that the current character model options are just the tip of the iceberg with regards to what they plan on doing. Individualisation is rather fundamental for these kind of games. -
I have yet to die of either thirst or starvation. And as loot currently spawns I must admit I have real difficulty seeing how anyone else could have.

I noticed this as well when I tried my zombieherding experiment some time ago. Those apartment blocks probably contain the highest concentration of zombies in the game. I went around maybe two or three of those blocks and I counted more than 20 zombies. Some players complain that DayZ SA is just a DM game, but I can recommend going there to be reminded that, at least in localised areas, it is indeed still very much a zombie shooter. Also if you want to improve your axing skills I can recommend melee fps' like Chivalry. At least I have noticed a considerable degree of improvement in regards to melee combat from before and after I played that game. I used to suck whenever it came down to melee fighting in all the fps's I have played, but now I seldom need more than one swing with the axe to dispose of my target.

They did take them out of the loot tables a couple of patches ago. I just happen to still carry some from my old character. Anyway I am sure they will introduce varied ammo, not only for the shotgun but for other guns as well. Rubber bullets and bean bags and such stuff would be nice, even teargas grenades, it would certainly change the flow of gunfights considerably, especially if they made guns and ammo much scarcer, and introducing so many different types of guns and ammo making it very difficult for players to create a positive match between the two, forcing players to having to do with whatever they found. I have a hunch that is the direction Rocket wants to take this thing. -
I play on the server that has the right population for whatever I aim to do. However since I rarely get to play more than an hour straight on the same server before I get the dreaded golden chain of "Lost connection", I can't even really be very choosy when it comes to that. It has to be daytime though. None of that gamma sploiting for me.

It seems the length of unconsciousness vary greatly. I have seen videos of people getting up 2 minutes after having been shot. I have myself several times waited for a very long time with no result (eventually logging off) from some forms of melee wounds.

I don't really know what 3PP has to do with subject of this thread, but fixing the seethrough walls won't solve the (unrelated) 3PP-issue, as it would still allow you to look into doors, out of windows and over low walls and fences without exposing your character. -

A satisfying kill of a loudmouth indeed. If it hasn't already been, somebody should report that rolling glitch though. I know the OP didn't use this intentionally, but the devs ought to be made aware of its existence.

Take a look at this thread containing a video of someone getting killed while logging out. You get exactly 30 seconds to kill and loot the guy before he disappears, dead or alive. I expect this to be fixed in some later patches, because obviously the body should stay if the player gets restrained, knocked unconscious or killed during countdown. -

You should never be relaxed when positioned on the firestation roof. Remember night is no cover at all, since most players playing nightservers gamma exploit. -

I don't understand why you would think that was a shotgun. It doesn't remotely sound or behave like that. Definitely something fishy about whoever was shooting, though. -
Yesterday I entered Zelenogorsk (iirc) and I seemed to hear footsteps outside of every house I entered, but when I looked out the windows I couldn't see anything. So I did my thing ran out of town while constantly looking behind me to make sure noone was following me. I ran up to the multistoried barn nearby. While I was climbing the stairs I suddenly hear footsteps outside once more. Now I knew someone was following me! I almost fell down the stairs from excitement. Just as I securely got down on the ground floor again a military zombie suddenly phases through the wall! Apparently it had been him following me around in an extremely stealthy manner. The weird thing was that he didn't make any zombie noises, and when he went through the wall he just stood there, gazing angrily at me. He didn't try to attack or anything. It was a overall very creepy experience.

Haven't found a machete yet. Though I haven't been able to find the SKS either. Plenty of ammo though. And while I have seen countless posts about people finding the SKS, none so far about the machete. I am beginning to suspect it has not yet been implemented.

I am getting tired of the military look, but I do think helmets serve a very important purpose. My character on the regular server is in a full hero outfit (green checkered shirt and baseball cap), but my main character on the hardcore server wears a black motorcycle helmet, because I don't want to get knocked out in a single punch by another player. Someone did try to knockout my regular server character the other day while I was refilling my canteens at a fountain. Luckily I had headphones on so I could hear his steps as he was approaching, didn't prevent him from getting a hit on me before I could switch to my sawn off, but it was a body hit. After some chasing around, useless sawn off shots wasted at him, I did finally put him out of his misery with my axe. But it was pure luck that none of his punches hit me in the head, or I would have been done for. So I am not going to risk that with my hardcore character.
