I wish that military gear/weapons were really rare
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to JAGTAG9606's topic in General Discussion
There will definitely be wipes, at least from the transition from alpha to beta and from beta to full release. -
It doesn't work that way. Since you are the one that claims 3PP is "much more dangerous" than 1PP, I think you need to state your reasons and how you came to such an absurd conclusion first.

The pic going round of the jacket is very cropped, and I suspect it is a dev pic. I highly doubt the jacket is in the game yet.

I have somewhat of the same experience. Direct hits with mosin, b95 and even the m4 (bipod and ACOG) on 200-300 distances with zeroing on 100, while changing zeroing seems to offset the aim considerably. I have yet to hit anything on longer distances with the SKS, regardless of zeroing.

The Rise (and possibly demise) of The Chernarus Revolution

What are you going on about? They clearly had the time of their lives and they communicated what was needed. Did you see the charge at the beginning? Much more fun than running around pretending to be military and obeying orders (something that to me would constitute one of the most boring gaming experiences ever). -
They do? They don't to me. There is certainly a lot of them. But they aren't that big.

So.... do we miss having to hunt for these?
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to rickyriot's topic in General Discussion
I surmise from the other answers in this thread that it is supposed to look like a spare tire. To me it just looks like an object made entirely out of bronze. (And thanks for the helpful answer, kilchirion. You are certainly a most helpful person). -
Poppies aren't large. However, if indigenous it would be very likely that poppies would spread on unattended fields. But then again the apocalypse in the game is too recent for that.

Started saving up footage of what players say before they died. Here are my top ones.

"Dude I'm..." and "It wasn't me..." were the best ones. But very interesting collection. -
Huh? That guy with the gun was quite capable of making himself look stupid. Especially when he missed all his shots at point blank range and became scared of a fire extinguisher.
-
Indeed. One could hear in his voice, even as he tried to play the non-caring troll, he was literally shitting himself when being chased by a guy with a fire extinguisher. And the fear in his voice only broke in the end, to be exchanged by very noticeable relief, when he at last managed to kill you. Anyway, it was clearly a kid, barely in his teens. No competence or grownup behaviour should be expected from those. And yes, next time, just use fists. With his lack of skill you would have had a really good chance of KOing him.

In the mod zombies spawn if you are near, while in SA zombies spawn with every server restart.

orlok put it nicely. The existence of these Western objects requires a story of a rather unexplicable intervention by Western powers, which, as far as we know, only exists in the head of a few enthusiastic fans.
-
That is a strange idea. Why should there exist a separate bottle which only accepted soda (and apparently not water), and which was completely different from the already existing water bottle? What is the reasoning for this?

what gamebooster do you guys recommend for DayZ?

Snake oil. -
As an old Hack (later Nethack) player I would just like it for nostalgic purposes. The "Killed by an rotten apple" message would give me flashbacks. Good times. Still, DayZ wouldn't be able to provide half the weird death reason messages that Hack could. "Killed by a fortune cookie", "Killed by a rotten floating eye", "killed by sipping boiling water", "killed by iron ball collison" (oh the old ball and chain wand).

Remove BattlEye messages in the bottom left corner (Devs please view for consensus on this)
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to omgwtfbbq (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I have also found a lot of comfort from those messages learning that I am not the only one being kicked from loss of connection on a frequent basis. If other players didn't have that kind of information you can expect a flood of posts here complaining about them losing connection all the time, while they think noone else seems to suffer from that. All in all I think the BattleEye messages provides very relevant information. -

I find them to be quite informative. I especially enjoy reading them when someone is kicked due to hack #x. -
It would certainly make sense, considering the hardcore survival aspects that are the intentions of this game, if you are to trust the various statements by rocket.
-
Hunters would more likely make a furrier version of the already existing ushanka. The racoon hat and its likenesses are phenomena largely restricted to the Americas based on the wildlife prevalent there.
-
Bambi behaviour indeed. And I am not talking about the unarmed players.
-
Not for me it doesn't. But then again I do have adblocker active as well as 3rd party cookies turned off. I guess they are active for just these kind of occasions.

It does some damage, yes. But there is simply no alternatives to axes atm. It does do a mean Epic Sax Guy impression though:
