    Heh, the first quote is indeed gold. Someone complaining that they can't play team deathmatch anymore because of the zombies disturbing them. In a zombie survival game.
  2. I can only agree regarding zombies becoming a threat. I dont particularly agree that they should become fast zombies is the only soluition, because it isnt, but they being a threat is a necessity. Regarding nights, OP didn't mention the most important current problem which is gamma exploitation. We can't have a proper night scenario until that crap is fixed. Then we can talk IR and that sort of thing. Currently nightiime is non-playable or indeed very playable for anyone who knows how to use options, because gamme exploit makes it equal with daytime. That is your IR gear right there, for every noob to abuse. I would rather have IR equipment in game, very rare of course, than this current menu driven IR option.That is the real problem, and we haven't had any dev response to that, if they are even capable of fixing that major issue.
  3. Let us look past the fiction of you being there. We all know that didn't happen. But you make a good point, if any player actually presented themselves with that kind of attitude, the human response would indeed be to try and punch you to death. You can be a hero by killing newspawn killers, you can even make some newspawns happy by dropping valuable gear near their spawns, but noone likes a goody two-shoes. In fact I haven't met a single person would wouldn't be willing to punch a goody two-shoes to death as soon as they heard their argument for behaving like goody two-shoes.

    Ah, I missed that post. However, "server hopping for blood", and then joining servers with a population of 1 hoping you meet up with that one player, is about as convincing as saying you were "server hopping for rotten bananas".

    Experimental servers that are UP

    I tried experimental last week for the first time, and it ran nicely. Had some gold chains, but it never kicked me off liked I'm used to on stable on a regular basis. However I haven't managed to find any servers since then, so I opted out of experimental this week. But I find myself missing all the cool stuff they added, and so haven't really played the game since then. I hope they will launch a stable patch soon. The "Eat all" option alone will be worth it.

    They stated the 10 min cap was temporarily. I think it is just one of the (many) things that have been temprorarily cut down, during this early phase before serious optimisation work begins, just so we can have a playable fps in the meantime.
  8. Completely agree with OP. If you want to do the hero thing then just drop your goods on the road on the coast near a spawn and get away. The main purpose of heroes on the coast is clearing it of newspawn killers, not running around like an annoying mother-in-law pestering them with constant offers of food and drink.

    You fail to make a fundamental distinction between exploiting and cheating. Exploiting is not cheating, cheating is not exploiting. Both things are problematic, sure, but you cannot equate them like that. Cheating = Using third party programs, or altering game files to gain an advantage. Exploiting = Using in game features in ways they were not intended to by the developers.

    Why would a fresh spawn carry binoculars? They should be relatively rare, about same as compass.

    There are several other houses which never spawns loot as well. The one with the outer stairs leading up to the door from a garage. Comes in several colours. The house where you enter a small hallway with doors to the left and right opening up into small rooms. the one which has the kitchen and living room (with a large corner sofa/bench) in the same room. It used to be very good for various loot, now it has nothing. The single story barn, the medium sized warehouse/barn, etc etc. The list has unfortunately only grown longer since release.

    I havent been playing experimental before, but the topics about increased performance made me curious, so I tried some experimental first time today. My first surpirse was I spawned (as a newspawn) at the docks of Svetlojarsk. I haven't seen any mention of that, so I thought I would make a thread mentioning that spawns are apparently being tweaked as well for the forthcoming stable patch. I didn't manage to die, so that is the only spawn I experienced, and as such can't say anything about whether this is going to be a frequent spawn or rare like Novy Sobor. Still, it does make a difference, since it pushes the action up north, Thoughts?

    I have myself found the axe to be the most powerful weapon in close encounters still, despite all the fancy guns they are introducing.

    In experimental you can now spawn as far north as Svetlojarsk.It will be interesting to see what difference it will make. Depedning on how frequent that spawn position is, it may very well make Elektro the next Cherno, that is a city that was once a happening place but is so no more.
  21. I've played a lot of hardcore, and I have yet to have been killed by condescension once, much less met a condescending bandit. So I am afraid I have to disagree with your statement.
  22. I tried the experimental branch first time today, the only server I found was a 1pp only. I hope this is a sign of things to come.
