The SVD has been confirmed some months ago (further and more recent info to be found here), so that is a given.

Southern portion of map seem sparse these days?
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in General Discussion
In experimental they moved a lot of spawns further north-west, closer to the new city. I haven't been playing stable since experimental went live, so I don't know if the spawns transferred to stable as well. But yes, on experimental Berezino is virtually as dead as it was before "the great spawn move up north". -
Southern portion of map seem sparse these days?
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in General Discussion
Even Balota tent camp and airfield is largely unvisited. I've gone there for my military equipment needs for the last month and have ran into exactly two players (one I never saw, only heard their shots as they blasted away at zombies). -
Number of players on SA since February 1st. Has decreased on average from 40,000 to 30,000, but it seems every patch makes a considerable peak.

Ruined binoculars shouldn't be usable.
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to Ransurian's topic in General Discussion
I suspect they will eventually introduce the feature that you can repair damaged items if you are carrying the tools and materials needed. -
Anyone know why those Gorka pants have that diaper shaped non-camouflage area around the crotch? Why don't they camouflage the crotch? Personally I would want my crotch to be camouflaged, in fact I wouldn't mind the crotch to be more camouflaged than my legs.

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
I have similar experiences with hackers in this game, rare, in fact only once during my 188 hours of SA, but it ended exactly like your video and that is not a pleasant experience in any way . However since your thread title is basically an accusation of every player of this game, at least that is how I understand the term "community", and considering your video content, as an accusation that we all hack, I must admit I don't feel a great loss if you choose not to play this game anymore, because frankly you can go fuck yourself if you insist on accusing me or the majority of the players of this game of hacking based on one bad experience. -
Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
There have always been some wandering forward. I think they may have been zombies that have aggroed in the past that sometimes just settles wandering forward. And there are some zombie spawns in the wild (not a lot), but mostly you will see zombies in the wild because they have followed players there and given up. -
Yeah, I dont quite understand the thread title either.

I see, that explains it. Wonder if he knew that and was exploiting that or was just lucky. It did after all make him capable of killing 2 out of 3 of you.

The, "waiting for stable to update", waiting room.
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
Now confirmed. It was going to go stable today, but the rubberbanding issue is delaying it. Good call, since that rubberbanding issue is not anything we would want introduced to stable (just think of the shitstorm on the forums), and also a good example of why they have the experimental/stable division -
That was a guy capable of taking quite a lot of SKS shots topped off by quite a lot of m4 shots, indeed. Not quite sure how that was possible, but unofortunately not an all too unfamiliar situation.
-
I think it may be this, though this seems to be on experimental(?): Link to twitter Also confirmed there that fixing rubberbanding "may take some time".
-
Nope. The rubberbanding has been confirmed by the devs to be caused by the exp build. That is what they are currently working on.

The, "waiting for stable to update", waiting room.
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
I would expect an experimental update and some time testing that before it goes to stable. As far as I know we are still on the same experimental version. -
Why did it take them so long to make this.
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to notofthiswar's topic in New Player Discussion
What are you talking about, OP? Cauldron was acquired in March, H1Z1 was announced in April. The release of the open alpha brought in the funding for extra devs. While the succes of the sales of the alpha most likely came as a surprise, it seems like it was a deliberate business strategy to get the funding needed for development. Edit: This thread seems to have been merged with another. I just want to make clear that when I talk about OP I mean the OP of the second thread merged, which is the #5 post in this thread. -
Currently there is no m16 in SA. The AKM in SA comes with replacable handguard and buttstock, and there is a PSO scope for it.
-
The stable version is going to be great because it is a great leap towards making this game a survival game. But devs have confirmed the rubberbanding wasn't server issues but directly related to the patch, so they definitely need to fix that before pushing it to stable.

I was wondering whether anyone knew if punching could cause fractures on the victim? If you aimed for the legs or arms, have anyone tried causing fractures and is this even possible in the game? I was considering whether it would be a viable strategy to counter motorcycle wearing enemies if you only have fists.

Northwest of Krasnostav.

And on the experimental its the new city, Berezino is almost back to the quiet old days there.

Ever monitor a town from afar via long range scope or binoculars?
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in New Player Discussion
I think he must have found a gun. Or those two guys must have been completely useless, because the machete is a rather lousy weapon for killing players in game (fists are more useful). -
It is 30 seconds to be exact. But yeah, plenty of time for enemies to kill you.

Please, bring back old Zombie aggro!
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to FrostDMG's topic in General Discussion
Because the current detection system in SA is still a placeholder. None of us knows what they are going to do with it, but I am pretty sure they are going to implement a stealth factor. -

You should drink all those sodas when you are starving. They actually do provide some energy.
