DayZ moving to new engine - ENFUSION
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to nexventor's topic in General Discussion
You guys should probably take the time to read more than the thread title next time you comment in threads. -
Loot Respawning is in yeah? What about Economy etc?
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to crimsonbzd's topic in General Discussion
I've only experienced "Session lost" in experimental when server restarts. -
I actually use the middle finger. The map isn't that big, and you can't run straight ahead for a very long time without running into a tree trunk, a fence, a house or simply going uphill were it is faster to run zig zag. When is it exactly you claim such gimmicks will be of any use?

Come play on our new DayZ server :)

A glimpse in the crystal ball of how SA hopefully should never end up. -
The PDA GPS suggestion is a silly one. And the battery issue, while being a real serious issue, since all batteries would be long since flat, and you don't find extra batteries for those lying around everywhere, is only a minor issue in regards to that: Do you think a sattelite navigation system takes care of itself and can function without maintenance? Man, todays kids are really screwed if something big ever happened to the power system.

No sidechat and no serverside sidechat option. It should never be an option, there is simply no point if the only excuse is "its a laugh having it turned on". And as someone also mentioned in another thread it would be rather cool, though unfortunately probably impossible, if teamspeak and other similar third-party programs was nerfed by having the game treat voice input to those programs as voicechat input in the game, so that everytime someone speaks in teamspeak it will be handled as the character speaking in game.

Item manipulation hacked server? Did this happen to you too?
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to Captain Swag's topic in General Discussion
Sounds a bit like it could be this kind of thing. -
This game is really something else...
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to karlkurtz32's topic in General Discussion
I haven't had the problem of my character not saving on the current experimental, and I have randomly switched between servers whenever they restart. -
I have seen gameplay videos of them crouching and actually doing an eating animation. Unfortunately I can't recal which ones.

Cannot find certain items for the life of me!
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to Ugly (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I have found binos a couple of times in the current exp (I think one was at Balota military camp), but they have certainly lowered the loot spawning of them. I seem to find quivers all over the place (they appear frequently in garages, corner cafes and the new stores in the new big town). I have found several crossbows as well, but I am not using those anymore as a result of several bad experiences with it. -
There are several videos of zombies eating players they have killed, so it seems to be in the game now. However as I have never seen it myself when playing (it is after all a relatively rare thing for a player to get killed by a zombie), I don't know if they only added it in this latest experimental or whether it is an older feature.

It is at the bottom of your inventory box. When you log in you should then place it in your hands immediately, because while it does in the inventory for some time, as soon as you do an action with another item the gun drops to the floor.

DayZ moving to new engine - ENFUSION
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to nexventor's topic in General Discussion
There has been lots of things done, some you see and some you don't. "some new hats and maybe some new guns" is a load of bollocks and you know it. -

Ouch, I can imagine this post must be somewhat embarrassing for you now. -
DayZ moving to new engine - ENFUSION
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to nexventor's topic in General Discussion
Yes, it is apparently a bit of a botched attempt at preventing all those ridiculous "arma 2 engine sucks, they need to switch to a new engine" posts. Devs have long since said it is not the arma 2 engine anymore but something new on account of all the things they have done and will be doing with it. Now they came up with a name for it, apparently in connection to the 64 bit switch, so when people write about the "shitty arma 2" engine they can reply "we are not using the arma 2 engine, we are using the infusion engine". Unfortunately I doubt they will manage to drive home this point to that crowd. -
Read the threads about zombie development please. It is painfully clear that you aren't following the info on this very forum at all, yet reserve your rights to remain ignorant of development and complain about something that is already being adressed, and that is exactly what makes your posts both completely wrong and completely superflous.

Must be extremely rare. I have not experienced it during my 200 hours in the game.

This shows skill is still very much an issue, and that people without it may experience something similar to your story (not my video):

Experimental Servers Stuck (US East)
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to blazinone's topic in General Discussion
I haven't tried them in a while, but perhaps it could signs of an update of them? -
If H1Z1 will have squads and clans at early access why ...
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to Demonio (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
If I see someone using the term "fanboy" I take it as a sign that they are running out of good arguments. -
You can't use realism as an argument because neither option is realistic in any sense of the word. How persistent storage is done is entirely an issue of gameplay, that is to say, in which direction the devs want to take the game: minimal loot and gear, in order to focus on the survival aspect of the game, or overabundance of gear (like Epoch) with the focus on gunplay with every kind of military equipment and loads and loads of vehicles of all sorts, to mention the extremes of either direction. Anyway this issue of persistent storage seems to be deeply connected to the issue of hives, one hive per server or public hive with some private hives or something completely different. An issue which we don't know much about how the devs will handle either.

Also those corner buildings in cities, with blue doors, just having a corridor leading out to the other street. And the corner cafés. I have found a pair of binoculars on the current experimental with one of my regular characters. They do seem to have reduced their spawn rate somewhat in comparison to stable though.

This Dad Plays DayZ - What a Dick Move... (Deception)
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to Aubinator's topic in Gallery
I noticed that the mike icon didn't appear when you tried answering him, seems like you forgot to press caps lock. That meant he didn't get any replies from you, and some peope have very strict "no communication = death" rules. -
The problem is that if there is some lag or something, there can be a bit of a waiting time before the animation begins. If you then press the number again because you thought it did not register, then the action is added to the queue as you unwielding the weapon, so when the animations finally kicks in all the times you pressed the key are carried out, causing your character to take out and put back the gun for the specific number of times. The lag in connection with the hotbar is an issue, and in stressful situations I have begun using the inventory options instead (dragging gun to hands or right clicking "take x in hands") instead, as it is currently a much more reliable way of getting your gun out fast.

On account of the now visible option to search I have done some searching and been relatively succesful. Out of perhaps 10 times I've found berries 3 times, 1 red and 2 blue. So I guess OP has just been unlucky.
