Why would you leave the North-east corner? Ever?
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to maninthewall's topic in General Discussion
Unless you server hop, if you want to find stuff everybody else is looking for, you need to leave the North East corner of the map. Because everything theres is going to be looted. -
Apparently being digitally and very much placeholding "soaked through" does cause grief to some persons. This must be the final proof that you can be sure that whatever you do, someone somewhere will be annoyed about it.

Were Gorka camo jackets ever implemented?
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to Ransurian's topic in General Discussion
I was more referring to the fact that they don't have a camoflage pattern around the crotch area. -
Were Gorka camo jackets ever implemented?
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to Ransurian's topic in General Discussion
They are implemented (even found one in a firestation yesterday). But even with the jackets the trousers still looks weird. I am not sure what is up with the diaper cut on them. -
And of course they found this out by actually briefly testing a 64 player server.
-
We currently have unrealistically high running speeds, no stamina and no weight system. The running is only going to get worse when these things are implemented, and there won't be a huge carpark full of shiny pristine SUVs for everyone like in Epoch, so you either get used to running or I suggest you find another game.
-
They did work ok, but they have changed a lot. They actually tested out a 64 player exp server yesterday, and it ran very very poorly according to those who tired it. So apparently some work is needed before we see those kind of numbers again.

a Glimmer of hope after 2 month break
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to xalienax's topic in General Discussion
You can chop down bushes if you use the "Chop kindling" option. Like with trees, just pressing left mouse on it while holding an axe does nothing. -
The OP is fiction, a mere wishful fantasy. Can be seen already from the beginning with the claim that knocking out his hostage silenced him. Knocked out players can still partake in ingame voicespeak. Well written fan fiction though. The guy has talent for writing, even with the somewhat childish mentality,

He had his inventory screen up. For people with no sense of multitasking that means they are literally dead to the world and all that is happening around them.

Bug tracker not working I'll post it here
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to flygamer1's topic in Troubleshooting
http://feedback.dayzgame.com/my_view_page.php product version is either the complete version number, but it will settle for the shorthand version (0.46 or 0.47). You will need to post it there. Posting it here wont do anything. -
I am really curious to know what kind of loot you need storing that you can't hold on your body atm. There isn't exactly that much varied loot around, except for clothes. But I assume it isn't clothes you want storing.
-
I am not exactly excited about the prospect either. I usually support and enjoy games that allows for modding, but the concept of Dayz is a delicate thing, which can and (and as we have seen with the arma mods) will very easily be completely destroyed by modding.

Tents with wooden floors never have loot/gear
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to karlkurtz32's topic in General Discussion
I think it was the 0.46 that reintroduced the tents with wooden floors not spawning loot. They will eventually begin spawning loot in some future update. -
Has Anyone Else lost Faith in Dayz?
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in General Discussion
Which part about tents not being in the game prevents you from looting? -
The devs have stated that modding will be enabled when the game is released. At least according to this article. Perhaps someone can find actual dev statements on the matter?

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
I read that as well. Internally testing it does not mean exp branch. That only comes later. I do not know how much later, but 3 days seems very unlikely. -

Do you have a link for that quote? I haven't heard anything about navmesh being implemented in exp today. -
Has the Mosin 9130 been nerfed?
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to B00MH34DSPL4T's topic in General Discussion
I guess that makes sense in a twisted sort of way. -
Has the Mosin 9130 been nerfed?
BadAsh (DayZ) replied to B00MH34DSPL4T's topic in General Discussion
Yup. Mosin got nerfed badly. No idea what the reasoning behind this is. -
Armed Helicopters Are NOT Overpowered

We can strive for the SA never to become anything like Epoch. -
You can do that now through direct voice, by, you know, whispering into the mike. In fact using the OP method, the random stranger wouldn't know he was being whispered at and you would need to stand right next to him to do it.
-
It sounded like it was just a very crude voice com range setting. So that people within hearing distance will still hear communication in normal volume level, and not as an actual whisper. If that is true, then I think it would need a bit more work. One of the downsides of whispering is that the commuication can easier be deafened by other noises, and this seems not to be the case here, in fact the players could be screaming to each other, but as long as they are within a couple of meters of each other, noone but them will hear it.

No. The logging out process doesn't stop if the character gets injured during it. If the character gets knocked out (or handcuffed) during the process, the character will die.
-
I agree. One should however remember that, according to many videos, a lot of players apparently play with a tiny screen size, and the server messages thus becomes quite big and invasive (as does the hotbar). Still, it is defintely one of the least HUD cluttered FPS games in existence, so yes the rant in the OP is a bit over the top.
