Yeah found me a skate helmet as well in the 5 mins I had before I CTD. Combined with the short canvas pants and I am a 1990s skater. Or a massive doofus, probably a bit of both. -

Reminds me of how my first 0.50 character died. No windows to be sniped from, no broken leg bug, no sound or anything, just standing there and then dead. It seems there might be a new hack that can instakill other players. At least the end of this video (not by me) suggests it: -

In the current state of the game you don't really need saline or blood bags. It's much easier just to keep up the healthy status by eating and drinking, because food loot is everywhere. -

My first character in 0.50 also lived for several days, until he suddenly dropped dead for unknown reasons. I was looking at a can of cola in a house and next thing "You are dead". I am sure I could have survived with him indefinetely as well, since he had the full survival package for surviving in the wild (axe, knife, matches, gun + ammo). With the rest of my exp characters it became increasingly difficult to stay alive for longer periods, because the spawn areas and their immediate surroundings had all been picked clean, so it would have had to be sheer luck for me to find the places in the surroundings where the food loot had respawned in order to stay alive long enough to get out of the spawn areas and to the places with relatively intact loot. -
I'm thinking it is more of a "haven't gotten around to fixing them yet" kinda thing.

Correction, it was posted 4½ months ago. And we now have camping and hunting gear. Constructing buildings from scratch will most likely (and should not) be in the game. And most importantly (because I suspect many mod players dissapointed by the SA are unawarely experiencing this), you just have to face it, you will never regain the mystery of the first months of playing the mod, it simply has to do with those "first time" experiences. If a mod player wanted to relive some of that, they should not do early access of SA, but instead wait until full release. And yeah, the zombies are being worked on, but the horde thing is definitely connected to optimisation work, so it will probably take some time. -

There does seem to be some bug about medikit spawning in current exp. They are everywhere, and always in great heaps.

I found a SMERSH backpack in the office building of Elektro in exp today. I have not found the vest, and I actually ditched the SMERSH backpack soon after, as I found a Talon close to the supermarket. -

I have found pistol and m4 silencers, they don't actually do anything, but they do make your gun look longer, if that is somehow your thing. -

Not in my experience, and I have been actively looking for one of those since it was introduced. I admit I haven't been looking for the AK101 or RAK, and I don't really care too much about not having found those two either. -

Just lock them in buildings. Easy and painless method, and it creates a nice surprise for whoever comes along next.

Yeah, I'm opting out of exp for now as well. It doesn't really matter how energized, hydrated and healthy you are when you start out, 5 mins of running will take you close to starvation, and if you took the wrong turn to a town that has been looted you are pretty much fucked. I'm guessing they have all the information now about the various ways to die of starvation and dehydration now for anymore experimenting on the matter to be pointless. This build has taught me a lot of valuable information about how the present loot system works though, information that will make my game experience in stable much better. One simply has to unlearn all about the old system, there are no non-loot spawning houses anymore, and in fact if a town appears to be looted, then it can often be quite a gold mine to loot the houses that in the old system didn't spawn any loot, and this works even in the coastal spawn towns. I have found basically everything (barring guns) by looting those houses (and the small shacks), and achieved healthy status simply by doing this. As I said, this unfortunately doesn't really help a lot in 0.50 as you will quickly starve no matter what you do, but on a properly balanced build this information will come in handy. -

Exp only encourages 3PP, on account of there being almost no 1PP servers there at all.

Indeed. You actually have to find the the names of even more primitve games to make a proper comparison with 3PP servers. COD is simply too advanced for that. And yeah, ARMA does unfortunately have its Operation Flashpoint remnants sticking to it, for no good reason other than "that's how it's always been". The 3PP is definitely not a proud moment of the history of that game.

Hats, gas masks, respirators, glasses, clown masks. I'm no game designer, but they didn't exactly make it easier for themselves.

AC doesn't have the ability for the player to try on a vast array of hats that needs to fit under that hood though.
