    Handgun damage

    Could you please post a link to the exact page on the Gamepedia where they mention that all handgun damage is the same? I have been searching a bit, and can't find it.

    Theoretically they could have gotten out, chasing a wild animal or another player. Double doors are notoriously unreliable for trapping zeds. Which type of barn was it? Was it the one with the ladders? They could have run up those and fallen off and their bodies despawned.

    It is body hits that are the problem. Leg and arm hits gets cured by morphine, splints, body (spine for lack of a better word) hits apparently doesn't.

    Again: Previous 0.50 build set in December of Chernarus. Only a handful ever got up there, the rest starved to death. A map taken from a stable build would most likely see much more player death there and at the other military compounds.

    Those areas (and the inbetween) have become spawns spawnpoints again, so there is definitely a lot of activity there now. And I wouldn't doubt that if they made a similar map from current stable, the most player death activity would no doubt still be on the coast (from Cherno to Svetlo), but I also suspect there would be a bit more player death activity inland than what this map shows.

    The problem with that map, though, is that it is from the previous 0.50 exp build, which was the version where everyone starved to death if they tried leaving spawn areas, so I don't think it is really representative for average DayZ behaviour.

    It's strange because I CTDed like hell the first day of launch of this patch (and the previous 0.50 build) as well. But after a lot of crashes it suddenly stops that behaviour, and I can play without any other intereference than the constant server restarts. I have no idea what would cause this kind of behaviour, but I would recommend you try and stick it out for a day or two and see if the CTDs doesn't do the same on your end.

    Pistol mags and the Makarov.

    I've found one makarov mag, that was at a jailhouse building. I've found tonnes of different mags at firestations, but never makarov mags. And yeah, there seems to be a bug with the makarov, because you can't chamber bullets in it, only mags works. Pistol mags definitely needs to spawn at more civilian places, or even better inside the pistol (but empty), they should not be military exclusive.
  13. Not true either. Health and blood are two different stats. When you reach green energised and hydrated (dark green or light green, it doesn't matter, both trigger it, although of course light green means it goes faster) you will start regenerate blood. The player is not informed of this, but you can see it by colours regaining saturation. When you reach full blood you begin healing, and this is notified with the "healing" message. When you have regained full health you get the "Healthy" message, which in effect means you got full blood and full health.

    One method could be that you slowly regenerate spinal bone value if you are at full blood and full health. That way it would suddenly become turned around again: the longer you survive, the more spinal bone value you have (until you reach max of course).

    I doubt they are in the game yet. A lot of the stuff mentioned there are not in the current exp (leather sewing kit), smoke nade, brass knuckles. The sledgehammer is in, but is invisible. He is just mentioning things which is in the internal build.

    Since I hadn't played since last night, I was a bit intimidated when I finally logged on right now, because according to many here, I would basically be facing barren landscapes and starvation. Imagine my surprise when I logged into a European server and found Zelenogorsk chock full of loot of all kinds. Food and drink and clothing everywhere. I walked into a ground floor workshop and there was a yellow protective case in pristine condition lying right on the floor. I doubled my supply of shotgun shells for my MP133 and could probably have continued if not for server restart. I logged on to my 1pp character whom I left in the outskirts of Elektro, and same thing, lots of good basic loot, no barren anything. So I don't know what server you played on, but possibly you logged on to another plane with no loot (as a subtle hint to the somewhat disconcerting videos posted above).

    Can opening are currently being reworked entirely, which is why it is bugged in the current version.

    afaik they are still on placeholder AI (while working on the real deal), which means you can't stealth them and they will randomly aggro on you based on vicinity rather than line of sight or anything other clever.

    If they are running persistence, server reboot will not respawn loot. Only looting will respawn loot.

    You guys have checked all the houses, right? Because loot respawns in every type of house now, and in places they didn't usually do before (like upstairs in those yellow houses). And don't forget to check the small sheds and outhouses, they contain good stuff. I found out in the last iteration of 0.50 that if you only stick to the houses that used to contain loot in the old system, you can go through entire villages thinking they are swept, but if you systematically go into the houses that used to spawn no loot, you will suddenly realise that the village is actually full of loot after all.

    I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say. But I don't think it is ridiculously hard to survive. Obviously it was difficult in previous build of 0.50 because it was set to December, but I think they learnt that they need to tweak the numbers even for that month, because that was a bit silly.

    They seemed to have changed it into a more friendly season, at least I managed to run from Elektro to Green Mountain, with plenty of detours for looting on the way, without losing my green energised and hydrated status, in fact it was only as I was leaving Zelenogorsk for the second time that I got the "Thirsty" message.

    Finally managed to find me one of these beautiful beasts: Found it in a barracks, but it contained 6 shells, so I guess it was dropped by some ignorant fool in favour of an assault rifle. I dropped my SKS and an unloaded AK101 for it and had to leg it back to Zelenorsk jailhouse where I left my old shotgun and some shells.
