  1. How come everyone thinks having 200 slot servers is a bad idea? Just imagine,a server divided in huge clan colonies walling off and repopulating whole cities. Having massive firefights with each other, turning the Chernarusian landscape into a post apocalyptic war zone. Now,concerning your other ideas... An advanced customization system, would be awesome, but the engine would probably explode if the devs were try pulling something like that. There has been talk about addin your clan emblem on clothing, maybe it will be part of the "advanced communication" implementation mechanics that are planned Q3 on the roadmap. If you want to be better at something, perform that action more. Like if you want more stamina, then run a lot,if you want more swimming speed, then swim a lot,if you want less shaky aim, then shoot a lot etc. I'm against a system that predetermines your charachters strenghts.I'm more in favor of the "no pain no gain" point of view. Setting Ranks within your clan is one thing, but perks are just to arcady for a game like DayZ. Construction (base building) is Q4 in the Roadmap. World Containers (storage) are Q2 in the Roadmap. Imo a building should portray, the amount of resources, man power and time spent to achieve it's creation. Large scale building should be an impossible achivement for an individual survivor. We are expecting the implementation of the new zombie AI soon on Experimental. That means the introduction of stealth gameplay will be back. Additionally there are plans to make new zombie types by baking clothiing textures over the zombie models. The final product will be a variety of different zombies varying from age, gender and size. Locked doors

My idea would be that most of the homes in the Chernarus area, would be locked. The only way to succesfully open them is by essentially kicking them.I propose a system where it takes the averange player 3 to 2 minutes to succesfully kick a locked door open improving the time it consumes depending on the skill(Rocket's idea of getting better at things we do repetative) With the help of the crowbar we can lower that time needed around 2-1minutes depending on skill. But theese methods would make break-in bases rather a simle task. So,player secured positions can be achived by additional upgradable locking mecahnisms rendering the above break-in methods useless, but still making it do albe for the thieves to break in.

    Text Chat without Mic

I don't get it...what are you suggesting? You can already access ingame chat with /(backlash) key. There's no need for a mic to do this...

Forge Steel and Iron - Blacksmithing

How about we give the ability to smelt scrap metals into forging tools and weapons? Granted we have wood to carve a handle, almost every metal tool can be created. From hammers and screwdrivers to swords and axes. Here are some steps, demonstrating how it works... Step 1 :Create an Oven Ovens are confirmed to work on experimental, they could do a fine base for a forge. Step 2 : Place the metal inside The metal needs to be heated to extreme temperatures,in order to assume liquid form. Step 3 :Forge the liquid metal to desired tool \ A hammer is required to bend the liquid metal into a solid tool shape and form.Maybe pliers and the use of additional tools is in order, but i try to keep it as simple as possible. Step 4: Craft and attach handle A steel head is useless without the tool's handle.A survivor should carve a handle out of wood using a knife. Step 5 :Profit Attach the tool's steel head over your handle and craft your desired tool.

SAY GOODBYE TO BANDITS ONCE AND FOR ALL?

A large part behind the success of DayZ is mainly due to the psychological effect it caused to the player behind the screen. The fear of your character's death along with the adredaline rush when getting yourself caught in a firefight was a rollercoaster of emotions that effected the user directly. Player immersion is an important factor for DayZ,almost no other game provides an equivalent experience. If we were to implement a system simulating fear on behalf of the avatar,we are in danger of ruining the game's unique user immersion providence.

My friend died in a really strange way

I think there was a trick to fix this. People valuted thus they forced their position to register corectly. Nevertheless OP the bug itself is pretty common in DayZ. Alot of people had similar experiences.

    Suggestions for Dayz

The game is still in Early Access, while i share your sentiments about the lack of survival oriented gameplay, this is something that will improve in the upcoming patches. The KOS gamestyle is prominent atm because there is little content to keep players occupied. Additionally there is little incentive for players to interact with one another. Zombie variety and hordes are planned for future implementation. On a recent post devs shared their intention to bake clothes textures over zombies. They are planning to create a large variety of different models varying from age, gender and size. We are soon expecting the new zombie AI addition on the Experimental Branch. Safe zones are against the spirit of DayZ. That's because nothing is scripted or forbidden in this game. Forcing restrictions upon players will diminish the delivered experience. The only NPC elements in DayZ are the wildlife and infected. A game that focuses heavily on realism can't include non interactive human element. Player interaction is key to the game, having human NPCs will damage the game's authentic feel. I agree, complete anonimity is really bad for the game. An implementation of a realistic mechanic is in order. However i dissagree about knowing your killers name. Doing this will degenerate DayZ to a COD shooter. That depends on many factors, such as the shot distance and the caliber of the bullet. Overall DayZ does a good job delivering to players,a realistic fire-fighting experience. However keep in mind, that hospitals wouldn't work in case of an Apocalypse. Also, eating cold beans and raw fruit and vegetables doesn't help much with the hunger. Once the cooking system is fleshed out, then we can see some effective ways on taking care of our hunger. Diseases and infections are waiting for implementation in the near future. Although, the lore claims that survivors are immune,it would be interesting to see some zombie related viruses and infections. I agree and support the fact that such a mechanic would greatly enhance the infected threat factor Humanity stats and similar systems though, have no place in DayZ,because it's unfair for the computer to judge player's character over statistics. Killing in self defense for example may register me as a bandit in the system. This is your story. What happened to the world before,is irrelevant. The only goal is to survive. Although i wouldn't mind some small info with a bit of lore behind it. Welcome to the Forums!

Persistent Diaries for players to write in.

Having 50-100 paged notebooks for the survivor to utilize as he sees fit is a great idea. Whether survivors choose to use them as diaries or kindling for their fireplace, notebooks prove to be useful. :)

Forge Steel and Iron - Blacksmithing

Leaving Companion Pets as guards on our safehouse even when we are not in the server,is an extremely awesome idea. :D Also traps is definitely something i'm very looking forward to,especially claymore traps.

Me too,i can't wait to see what they have in store for us. I remember making a suggestion including my 2 cents on the subject way back in April. I think you kinda liked that one... :D

Forge Steel and Iron - Blacksmithing

Yep,you could sit back in your farm, forging your tools from scrap metal rather than going through scavenging. As the game strafes it's focus on survival, this mechanic would enhance gameplay greatly. I agree on the unique recipe part. Also player crafted armor is something that could be awesome. Forging your nails is a very good idea and can be made a necessity for base building and barricading. An average structure, would use a very large supply. You are saying this because we are used to abundant loot. :) I don't know about you,but concerning myself,i really want the loot quantity to be dramatically decreased as more survival based mechanics are implemented. This is a good way to achieve a more survival oriented gameplay. I really hope they make loot a lot more scarce in the future. This mechanic fleshes out a versatile crafting system, which is a good addition to the game's survival aspect. :)

Cannot switch back to Stable from Experimental.

How to change game version Open steam Go to games library Right click on DayZ Select "Properties" Select "BETAS" tab in the properties menu Then select the desired version from the drop down box Close the menu and the game should update/backdate to the requested version Does this help,or you know this already and doesn't work?

    My Ideas

Let's take it from the the top... 1- You mean like a bras de fer? 2- No bars, they take away from the immersion 3- World Containers are coming Q2 on the roadmap.Exciting isn't it? :) 4- I made a suggestion like that in the past,it's kinda awesome to have it ingame. 5- Yes,but only small tier items, like pens,matches,etc.. 6- I agree this needs tweaking+a falling animation 7- We should spawn starving, more challenging that way :D 8- Nope, hovering names are too arcady for a game like DayZ. 9- Why? So you can run back to your body faster? 10- The upcoming new zombie AI will probably fix that. 11- No they add to the challenge, also expect the survivor's speed is going to get nerfed when stamina makes it ingame. Welcome to the Forums!

Well, crafting a shank is one thing. But the idea is you can craft almost anything tool related. I don't know about you,but forging your sword, your splitting axe or even your hoe is a very good idea imo. :) And it's not like there is a lack of scrap metal. There are literally a ton of vehicles rotting away in the Chernarusian landscape.

    Jump and Grab Mechanic

DayZ has to be one of the few remaining open world games out there, that you are not allowed to jump. Instead we are stuck with this awful vault mechanic from Arma2. Having the ability to grab and climb on any surface whether it's fences, concrete or roofs is something that would prove game-changing. Don't get me wrong,i can relate with you folks that love the Arma feel, and having people abuse the mechanic and jump dance to dogde your bullets will seriously mess up your fire fighting experience. So i propose this realistic solution... Allow the player 2-(3) consecutive jumps and restrict him from further jumping again for the next (25-15) seconds. That way everyone can benefit from the mechanic without fear of abusement. So,what do you think? Share me you thoughts! :)

Spawn with Radio instead of Flashlight

By design DayZ SA can't allow a global chat system. While it goes against the spirit of DayZ,most people prefer the use of third party communication programs. Additionally, almost none uses the ingame radios, which is a shame. While we can't ban people from using TS....maybe we can motivate them to use the ingame communication system. You want to hear my opinion...? What if we replace the flashlight with a walkie talkie as starting gear for fresh spawns (and made their range global(("optional")))? Then anyone could talk to everyone globally without the fear of realism or immersion breaking. :) (posted as a comment and decided to make it a suggestion)

Summing up Dayz in less then 90secs

To be honest dude i strongly dislike people that pretend to be friendly only to find a good opportunity for a backstab kill. Now...calling you douchebag, was kinda harsh, but i couldn't help but noticing the fact that you made multiple videos using that same tactic. DayZ is about player interaction, whether you choose to interact with players the way you currently do,i have 0 arguments against your decision. But i have to point out that the majority of the DayZ community hates people with your mindset.

    Show names or no?

It's been a long time since February... But my argument hasn't changed, the only thing supporting realistic indefication method,is the implementation of an advanced character customization system. Sadly, after all this time in the forums,i came to the conclusion that the engine would probably explode if the devs were to try something like that. Anonimity is realistic, but on the other hand, you would probably recognize someone from his facial features even if you don't know his name. Take it from me,as an authentic scatter-minded individual i rarely remember my acquaintances names, but i still recognize them. I can see myself in favor of a spoting mechanic like the one Planetside 2 offers. When you spot someone, you target him and press the "spot hotkey" to reveal his name. But unlike Planetside no floating names, just a text message appear on the chat saying: "i spotted....x...." Let's face it,this mechanic is far from realistic, but i'm in favor of small sacrifices for gameplay's sake.

    Jump and Grab Mechanic

Well, like Joe_mcentire mentioned in another post in this topic,it's kinda dumb having to cover huge distances around obstacles half the survivor's size...

Remaster Weapon Controls, Interaction, and Loading

Maybe with the introduction of soft skills, new survivors can start off with shaky aim and low accuracy and gradually get better with practice.
