Well,if you categorize them as "manufactured products" then yeah,i'm with you,i didn't claim otherwise. I was talking about giving people incentive for preparing their food,rather than just opening a can and insta-chew down precooked meals. Compared to the scale of the world,the amount of canned products in the world is ridiculous if you ask me,they could do with a serious nerf. Making a fire and cooking should be the primary course of action,not just a "rewarding" survival experience. The mod had a very basic and underdeveloped cooking system.. I really hope that's not the case with SA version. -
Pretty interesting,now we can access the dev. created forum topics straight from the dev hub. Also the new webpage design finally makes everything look tidy and organized!

Yes i'm aware. I was implying raw uncooked spaghetti,like this... We need more items like this to incentivize cooking The canned food items need substantial decrease. -

I like the fact when you suggested noodles when we don't even have spaghetti :) What i don't get is,why should why do we need chopsticks? It's not like the game is set in post apocalyptic Japan or China,and regardless there is no much use for eating utensils. -

Added,thanks for your input on the subject. Even if it's rare,devs can model fictional plants having as basis real ones. It goes without saying that,i would highly appreciate your own personal herb suggestions. :) -
If you have it,open up Nvidia Geforce experience. Navigate to the games tab and click on Dayz. Hit optimise, it should change all the resolution settings back to around 1600x900.

Personally contrary to popular opinion,falling damage is something i wouldn't care to be spot on 100% realistic. I think there's room for some "exaggeration" don't you think? Jumping from the height of deerstands and "ladder towers" shouldn't kill you or break your legs even with heavy gear. I personally think everyone will benefit from this,as it would subdue all the hate from the times when falling 3 feet on our deaths due to clucky controls and desync.

You know what else would be cool and fit the setting? The Zastava M93 Black Arrow . Originated from Serbia,it was designed in 1993 and produced in 1998.

I hope you 're not running any "shit" along with the launch that could tamper the game right? "Software exception 0xc0000417 or error 417 occurs when the game's anti-hack application is blocked from operating either by the computer's antivirus or security programs, missing files, or other unknown causes. This one tried to run Arma 2 with injector and the anti-cheat wouldn't let him,and coincidentally he received your error message. I'm actually positive in a 50 cal sniper rifle additon. Granted that it's rare loot on heli spawns and replaces our back bag slot. If i were to make a suggestion on the model,it would probably be the Barret MB2 (or M107). Entered service in 1984 and was originally designed for the U.S Army.

Some are newer while some are older but nevertheless,imho they fit the setting pretty well. But that's a matter of opinion,despite that fact i'm planning to enrich the list with vehicle models suggested and voted by the community. I'll make sure the topic continually evolves into something bigger and better than it's current form.

One can argue that "older" vehicles fit the setting of the game better. :) Most of these were common around the Soviet Era. Let me try decode this,breaking Davinci's code would be easier but here goes nothing... 1) I think OP is talking about a ballistic shield item. 2) "Pistol of the fire gun" possibly talking about the flare gun...possibly... 3) Spray people with extinguishers to temporary blind them. 4) OP doesn't like number 4 so he skipped it... 5) The "firearm" factor in game,should be made rare because armed people are OP. 6) A market place,filled with rotten food and a small chance of fresh fruit-vegetable spawns. 7) Chat function,comes with spell-check option. 8) Better interior for buildings. At least i tried...

Nah i don't think it's related. They are just part of the new animal AI showcase. What i'm personally eager to see though,is whether the team tweaked the animal's behavior. Like deers forming packs roaming through grasslands creating hotspots near ponds and lakes.

Currently,it's quite uncommon for players to cook their food in DayZ. Most of the people resort to eating cold canned or raw fruit and vegetables. While i am aware that the cooking system is far from fleshed out,i believe that it should play a big role in the game. There should be more incentives to force people cooking their food before consuming it. What should be the possible benefits of consuming a prepared meal? Should heating your can of beans or cooking your zucchini offer a nutrition value bonus? Should uncooked meals worsen the player's "immune system" while cooked improves it,thus making survivors less prone to diseases? What do you think? :)

Come on,now that's incorrect and you know it. SA was made with the idea that it will overcome the limitations of the mod. As of now,they share the same almost identical bugs,performance and although there have been plenty of implementations,SA barely added to the scope of gameplay. In essence game feels more of a deathmatch with hunger and thirst mechanics rather than a survival title. One year in development,should reflect changes and results. While none can argue that the game's an Alpha but a year in later,none can deny the fact that the game is still lacking basic survival oriented gameplay. -
Yep they are pretty much edible either way. However,it is proved that cooked foods does indeed replenish hunger almost twice effective than dry food. Reducing canned items to very rare is indeed effective. But if we implement a mechanic where,consuming them raw provides only half the nutrition instead of cooking,imo will further improve the cooking incentive.

Or tweak it that canned food giving half of their nutrition value raw and full when heated on the fire. Beans have been boiled before making their way into the cans,so realistically speaking they are pretty much eatible. Recipes using combo ingredients should provide additional bonus. Let's use Steak and Potatoes for an example. When cooking the steak it gives you let's say 100 nutrition bonus. Cooking the potatoes gives you 50 nutrition bonus. Consuming each of them separately should give you 150 nutrition bonus in total. However,i"m in favor of combining these 2 ingredients,into the "Steak and Potatoes" recipe awarding the player 200 nutrition. This 50 bonus nutrition,is enough incentive for people cooking and combining their food ingredients.
