Realisticlly speaking....most people would be infected.Most of the food in their homes would propably go bad and rot. The food in refregirators (frozen) may last significantly more.Yet with no electricity,the ice is bound to melt,making those products go bad. Your only bet is to find canned food,but because more people would actually go for them too,your chances of finding some scarce canned goods will be dropped dramatically.Yet in my opinion,i think the game offers more than enough.In reality of a real apocalypse i bet there won't be 1/3 of the refrenced food in the game. -
Please excuse my rather original comment about Kos in general....I'm gonna compare 2 difrent games,yet i'm only doing it to demonstrate the player psycology behind each game. Do you know Rust? Rust is a game where Kosing exist over there as well...yet not as much as compared to Dayz. My opinion is that this is because... 1:The scale of the map is enormous,the large scale open areas make players nervous,thinking that enemy lurks in every corner.Compared to some Rust videos i saw,the forest area is more small and secluded,and give a diferent feel when exploring. 2:Compare the coulors Dayz and Rust have to offer in game.Rust has more vivid coulors,and more cartoonish graphics,which soothe the players.Dayz on the other hand has massive forests and the graphics are so good you feel immersed in the game,yet they take your feeling of safety. 3:Rust charachters can run on 360s with no restrictions.I see the player controls look higly unrealistic yet are highly responsive. Compared to Dayz the controls are not as fast-responsive and sometime it takes time to learn to move your charachter effective in the wasteland.This also makes players nervous,and also because of the time it takes to equip,or change weapons. Edit:So my opinion is,that the community is fine,the game itself puts the player in the psycology of thinking that he is on his own,and it constantlly reminds us how small and unprotected we are in the massive Dayz world.It is unforgiving,yet this is the reason why i love it.

Well bandits usually describe an individual that his actions have the sole purpose of robbing you from your possesions (gear),yet in this game the people that KOS fresh spawns with no aparent reason,or leave geared player corpses untouched to rot because they are alredy fully geared and just want to spent their time just shooting any poor bastard that happens to passing through,are also labeled bandits.Yet banditry in this game (looting players for gear) cannot exist.Simply because the lack of danger (zombies) makes the game extremly easy,and you can find gear in no time.Yet this come with a downside,the lack of zombies makes people bored,and are looking for some challenge,so they turn their aim against fellow survivors,not for their gear,only because they are more of a challenge.So yes,they are kind of douches because they don't really need anything...just want you dead.

Fn fal is very indentical to the g3,from what i heard from others.Although i didn't have the pleasure firing with it. Bu if you ask me,my opinion about Fn vs G3 is...

Good info,we should make the "badly damaged" and damaged waerbottles more prone to liquid contamination.

Nah i don't need it,i personally have the whole thing already made from the scraps :) Yet i would really care to see the univeral map in the game loot.

Very good idea.Also the ability to fill waterbottles with soda-cola-lemonade-orange juice etc from the cans would be awesome.

No....i personally wouldn't,yet i would be very dissapointed because i didn't find the whole thing,and i believe in everyone's house (and most cars) we all carry some sort of map.I'm not against of finding map scraps,but let's give the player the chance to find the complete "Map of Chernarus" among the loot and not just "scraps".That's what i'm suggesting.

I would go on a scavage hunt for a map (the whole thing). I wouldn't risk my safety for map scraps in order to glue them together though.... would that make sence? Edit:But that's just how i look at things,there is no right or wrong answer,just opinions :)

I agree,but besides the reasons i suggested above,fact is that realisticlly,noone would bother looking for map pieces in a real apocalypse,and a pristine new whole map of Cherno as a whole would/should exist without any pieces missing.

I love this idea,also there is so much music free from copyright strikes to use,that it's not a problem :) I suggest the ability for the survior to be able to raise/lower the volume of the radio.If the volume is on maximum it could attract other dangers including the nearby survivors who hear it.I suggest we make zombies to react to the radio sound/music,opening new possibilities for player made traps(example from a survivor diary:A horde was passing the other night and i grew nervous,so i placed my anti-personel mine in the room of the nearby residence,i turned my radio on,and left it there playing some classical with maximum volume,the dump fuckers went inside the room and....it was beautifull....it reminded me of 4th of July)

You think it's unrealistic now,yet i bet you can't even name me not a single game that comes as close/or tries to be as realistic as Dayz. But come on dude,if something feels unrealistic to you,you should share it with the rest of the community.Everything content-wise in Dayz is discussed on a daily basis by the community,from toes to eybrows.You know Dayz is one of those games that developers listen to their community fanbase,and strive to provide better content every passing day.It's a "simulator" don't forget that.If you were to get hurt,you would bleed,if you don't bandage you die,simplicity in all it's greatness.It's not Cod or Bf4 with regenerating blood and wolverine style abilties for the individual player,that's the beauty of it.So conclusion to answer your above statements,every last person willing to buy this game better have done his reaserch before ;)

How much authenticity is too much?

You know,when they implement the temperature system i bet some of the nights will be freezing cold(snowstorm weather condition etc).So either way you won't be able to move from the cover of your sanctuary. Sleep will be a nice addition to the game in order to reserve energy levels,refresh blood levels and keeping the player in a state when he has limited biological needs (when you sleep,you are not as hungry,thirsty).I'm cool myself with the idea of making sleep mandatory,yet for the rest of the community it can mean trouble,so the best idea would be to implement it,but not make it mandatory. Edit:Also it is a known fact,that sleeping helps recover from sickness. -

Isn't it a bit too much? I mean sure,we could recrate more serious wounds like having a status effect "deep wound bleeding" or something relevant,which will require the player to stich himself up. (needle+neting string needle needs to be sterile and preferably we neting string should be sterile,and manufactured for medical purposes or else may cause infection) But having the player remove the bullet/projectile in my humble opinion is not taking things to another level. -
I don't think it's a good weapon against zombies guys (talking about the average user)...if apocalypse started tommorow,would you have a slingshot as a weapon of choice? I honestly don't think it's a good idea because it lacks leathality and it's not practical.But if implemented when it comes to zombies let's make it a weak weapon capable of rendering them unconcious if you headshot them.But not with the first shot,and with a low propabilty rate.Am i unfair?

Guitar case-Absolutely YES!!!! Finally someone who thinks outside the box,and i was about to give up hope for the community. I would love to have them in game :)
