This is meant as a mechanic showcase. I didn't include "spawn and quality values" because subsequently the devs are in charge of balancing. This is purely my preferances on the subject. :) Nevertheless,i added the information in the post.

Plants will be spawned in random quantity accross every greenhouse. The majority would be empty, the second best would be rotten and a minor chance for healthy produce.

So the way I read it was that the devs are going back to 0.54 loot system?
Damnyourdeadman replied to HarryPotter (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I think people understand! What they are trying to say is that after 0.55 happened, for once the game proved challenging which was awesome! Going back to the placeholder system means "we go back to that 1 stop shopping in any barracks you enter where every person on the planet armed to the hilt ", mentality as a previous user correctly pointed out. Loot locations where awkward but the quantity was satisfying. After all,in a post apocalyptic survival title, finding a can of beans should be equivalent to a heaven's gift. We just hope that the new loot system improves, instead of taking away from the delivered experience. -
The list already contains the GaZ-69 model which is the 67's predecessor. Gaz-69's production date was 1953-1972,while Gaz-67's was around 1943-53. In my opinion that's pretty ancient, even for this list. :P Besides,69 is way more visually appealing and offers better specs.

UPDATE! According to the latest Status Report and Tweeter Updates, the dev team confirms 2 additional vehicles. The first is Ikarus,a bus adored by mod players with a rich history in game. It was confirmed in the Status Report but Chris went ahead and leaked a render model on Twitter ,further showcasing it's Upcoming implemntation... The other was confirmed on the Status Report footnotes, the GaZ-Volga which is probably the 24 model. This is based on the assumption that a wrecked version already features ingame. Along with the V3S both of these 2 Vehicles already feature in this List. Concerning these and future ingame additons,i'll be placing a CONFIRMED. tag,and provide the respected information sources.

I would expect to see a couple more cooking recipes added by now. I mean really, improved cooking was a Q1 feature,by now we should be at least able to boil water in a pot... This is a feature the game still lacks, however to my suprise i don't see people talking about it too much.

This would be a Singleplayer lineral story-mode kind of thing? Or you mean like Multiplayer with scripted events, npcs and missions?

World containers Despite finally looting vegetables from fridges and clothes from wardrobes instead of the floor is certainly an improvement, they are a big requirement for base building. Additionally having some of them spawn locked would incentivize players making use of various break in tools (eg:crowbars for lockers, explosives for gun safes and renforced doors). If devs utilize them correctly they can enhance gameplay alot!

He would feed your offsprings to his offspings so he could raise his offsprings with offsprings... But hey,i guess that's the true meaning of family folks!

The 55. Stable update, sparked alot of different reactions among the community. From my point of view,i'm actually pleased to see more focus on the game's survival elements. But i feel like, there's a need for the implementation of additional mechanics to further support survivability. Some of these are... Multipurpose Herbs and Plants : I'm actually very pleased that the game forces players to forage their food from the wild. But,this gameplay aspect should be substantially expanded by adding a larger variety of flora, other than apples and berries. I'm talking about multipurpose plants and herbs whose benefits range from nutritional and pharmacefitical to natural fertilizers and morphine. Cooking Incentive : This is something that really needs to be further improved. Adding ingredients together for nutritional value bonuses is something i would call a vital gameplay aspect. Yeah sure, anyone can still eat a ton of berries to satisfy their hunger. But smart players mix their berries into a Rasberry jam, awarding them noursishment bonus. :) More Animals and Traps : When the canned foods spawns became extinct, players seeked other food sources. Hunting is a big deal and all animals need to be made more common. It's not irrational to at least double all animal spawns in the world. Furhtermore,i think additional traps other that the rabbit snare should be implemented. Some cage themed capture devices for land and water creatures alike would be highly appreciated! Water Contamination : This is a change that really got me excited! However,i feel that water contamination should be expanded on the pumps as well. In the Apocalypse there's no Water Treatment Facility running, chance of infection should always be present (excluding rainwater). Overall i think the new update is a step in the right direction. Coupled with some of these features,i feel like the experince could be exponentialy improved. You being the players, what game aspect do you think needs further improvemt? Share your thoughts with me! :D

55. Experiencience Improvements
Damnyourdeadman replied to Damnyourdeadman's topic in General Discussion
Well yeah, like always restrictions placed by bugs diminishes the provided experience. But granted that everything works in order, overall 0.55 is definetely a step in the right direction. :) Still, animal spawns need to be dramatically increased though! Concerning fishing this is definetly something that got me amped up... ...and just when i was thinking about more animal capture devices,i see this making it into the gamefiles, imagine my excitment! Sometimes i wonder whether devs have mind-reading abilities! -

PC wont shut down after playing Dayz Standalone
Damnyourdeadman replied to ReallyNeedHelp's topic in Troubleshooting
Try this... - Open Task manager (press Ctrl Alt and Delete) - Click on the Processes Tab (The second one) - Check if there's a "DayZ - Steam Application" still running. - If you find it click on it and then press "End Process" at your bottom right. - Try turning off your PC -
Why can't we eat infected humans?
Damnyourdeadman replied to over9000nukez's topic in General Discussion
Hmmm... While i find the idea of canibalizing the infected appauling, let's not forget that they also come with guts and bones. It's a bad idea skinning the infected for their nutritonal value, but not so much if it means aquiring crafting materials. -
"SIE SIND DAS ESSEN UND WIR SIND DIE JAGER "

On the one hand you are right. We are still very early in the Alpha dev. cycle. The team had no intentions of hiding that fact and even warned users before buying. On the other hand Retro is also right. Whatever the product demand and supply have close ties together. If there is low demand, there will be low incentive for supplications. There is a real danger that by the time the game is complete, people will have already moved on.

Yes it has but that doesn't change the fact that it's still inadequate. Last time i checked, the game didn't exactly run like a dream. The servers are often very unstable and ruin the provided experience. But hey, maybe i don't know what the hell i'm talking about since it's my first status report and all.... Both server performance and melee point on the direction of a decent zombie combat experience in order to change this... ...into something better. Yeah they will,it would be nice if they talked about it on this Status Report though... Peter is mostly focusing on airborne diseases which is good and all,but i see no mention of water contamination which has been a long awaited feature for a lot of people. The Renderer isn't teddy bear containers and suppressors. It's a feature that will have a tremendous impact on the game,in multiple ways. Be it server performance and enhanced graphics to fixing light leaking from structures and procedural coloring. Implementation is bound to resurrect nighttime gameplay into a rewarding experience and even surpass certain feature restrictions placed by the current system. Yes,i didn't claim otherwise. What i was saying is that a sneak peek of his WIP vehicle models and talk about these upcoming newer systems would have been highly appreciated. It's been way to ling since only the V3S's basic is currently ingame. It's only natural for people to wanna know more info about these things... Features like vehicle inventory system and car maintenance is going to transform gameplay.

Lighting Fires in Fireplaces inside homes.
Damnyourdeadman replied to DURRHUNTER's topic in Suggestions
This is something i have been wanting for a looooong time now... It's a time forsaken feature, but nevertheless part of the devs to do list. Edit: On second thought,i think it's part of the features waiting for the new renderer before implementation. They could as well go ahead with it now,but then light leaking out of the structure would be an undesirable effect. -
I'm glad Hicks realizes that the current zombie AI has miles of work ahead of it's "perfection". While the latest implementations were certainly a step in the right direction, they are still frustrating and by no means a real threat. Despite additional work on the infected AI,there need to be at least 5 times their current numbers. And imo if they wish to succeed, they must shift their focus on server performance and the poor melee system mechanics. Zombies aside, they need to give more gravity in diseases, especially with ponds. Water contamination related infections was a big deal for me as it would pose a great incentive for players boiling their water before consumption. This would actually promote a survival challenge,as no sane man would dream of drinking straight from the pond. Sadly there is no information on the upcoming Renderer implementation. Maybe the system is not yet ready yet to undertake such a task. I don't know...i'm only speculating. Something else that was not included was work on basic vehicles. Along the previous week, there were plenty of car parts showcased by Chris. Additionally there was a comment about work on 2 other civilian vehicles. Some information or just a sneak peak about the upcoming vehicle maintenance mechanics and models would have been highly appreciated!

My idea on how to make in-game maps worth looking at.
Damnyourdeadman replied to Rags!'s topic in Suggestions
This would be fun actually. I could see 2 ways of how this could work... A dynamic event triggers a marked map spawn in the world's loot table. Or... Picking up the marked map, triggers the dynamic event in the world. Whatever the case, the location parameters can never be completely random and dynamic. -
That was pleasantly nice! Does anyone else think,it's a good idea to increase their damage a bit more?

Keep in mind, that not all eggs come from chickens. I wonder what a crow's egg omelete would taste like...

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
Damnyourdeadman replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
I know right? it's gonna be awesome! You think we will see different behavior patterns? Like them forming groups and going hunting or maybe even getting inside buildings sleeping. It would be rad sneaking inside houses trying not to wake them while searching for loot. :D -
Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
Damnyourdeadman replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
We can all agree that according to the latest zombie showcase video, broken zombies will be a thing of the past. The only real question remaining,is whether their numbers are actually going to pose a threat. Like it's said multiple times before, even the best zombie AI in the gaming world would prove worthless if their presence only offers a minor inconvenience...
