    DayZ Zombies-Infected or Undead?

    But let's assume that food has run out. How are they going to survive after that? I know zombies from Resident evil for example,have enough energy to keep going for years without eating anything yet they kill people because of something primal.(scent or something) Should they be alive,or undead,to avoid this: they should have exceptional regenerating abilities and to adopt in the enviroment like cockroaches. But still question remains,are they dead,alive or just to leave it to our imagination? The lore behind the zombies from the last of us were not half bad. But still i'm not really sure about the DayZ scenario.

    I think riot control units have flash-bang grenades. My city is kind of small,and i know for a fact that we have them on our local PD. Along with tear gas and the gun that is used to projectile them.

    I made a topic about bees and beehives once...everyone was geniounelly scared more of the possibility of having aggresive bees than the zombies ingame.They said that survivor wise you would not mess with them.(lol) Sometimes it's diffcult to understand people.

    The community is mature,i'm sure nobody thought about that....(hahahahaha) But really now,those messages are in experimental for purely testing purpuses. I think an icon should be in order,that lights up to notify you if you are getting wet.

    The way you described it,was like something out of a movie. But yeah,bottomline is zombies now,suck. I was thinking personally of diferent zombie behaviours when they are in a horde and when they are alone. A zombie spotting system would be nice,something like dishonored in hard difficulty, like when they see or hear you first thing they will do is akgnoledge you as a threat. In order to do this they will stare at the survivor until they are sure. Then comes the alert mode (taunt).They howl(scream) as an alert for nearby infected and recive aggresive positions.I don't know what the recomended scream radius for an alerted zombie to call his buddies. Also,i want them to be like the mod,where they were after you from Cherno to Elektro and never losing track of you or you just left them behind.

    Hmmm,that's not a bad idea. You mean like a threat tactic system: Lone Zombies 1-Spot survivor 2-Alert mode-Howl and scream at survivor (Taunt) 3-Observe the survivor movement(sudden moves makes them charge) 3-Charge at the survivor Horde Zombies 1-Spot survivor 2-Make a circle around the survivor/taunt taking attack stance 3-Charge at the survivor 4-If survivor escapes,pursuing zombies form 2 groups one attacking seperatly from left/right side. But at least,we should give them the predator mentality.

    As many of you would dissagree with me, if sleep ever gets implemented,i would love for my charachter to stay behind asleep in an NPC form. But walking/talking NPCs is a big no from me.

    Game-mechanic wise,slow zombies are shit. There,i said it.Why? Because they are not a real threat. Having great numbers and fast zombies,is the way to go. Do you want them to bump into walls like the classical zombies? Theese people are infected with a diesease similar to rabbies (at least that's what i heard) The zombies should be ferocious and never lose your tracks(pursit you to the ends of hell),like back in the mod days when i used to go prone in order to pass safely through a village.

    They are also stupid now in exp.Do you want to keep them like that? We need highly responsive zombies,in order to make them a real threat. He dosen't propose irational things like the infected using firearms,he's making a good point. A dog,when chases a man,usually goes ahead of him and prepares some room to jump on him in order to meet with his teeth.Same principle can be realated to our infected friends.Make them go in front of the survivor and leap.In order to achieve that we need to make them run faster than the player.

    Beans for the bell on churches idea alone! Making zombies harder enemies isn't really necesairy. I have heard that their numbers will be massive in the future, besides they are not supposed to be tougher than the average man.

    I would like to be able to have exclusive craftable clothing (not found on the loot table) To be able to install a CCTV Camera system around Elektro and spy on people ^^ . Having molotovs would be hot (literally),pvc tube bombs/nades. And last but not least,concealed spike traps along the grasslands of Chernarus. Vietcong style

    The title on your suggestion is very wrong with this game's mentality. The word "rush it" shouldn't belong in DayZ SA. I advise you to be patient and do something else until they are in. I myself am waiting too for more things and not playing.

    Hello DayZ community. First of all,i would like to apologize, for making a topic that it's not new among theese forums. I was thinking the other day that,in case of a real apocalypse, how easy would it be to find a weapon? I did some thinking and i find it very unlikely,that any kind of firearm would be left behind fully functioning. So i came up with an idea that will surely help against the large firearm numbers and accesibility. I would like to propose to make almost every weapon in the game that is left behind (lying on the floor) broken with the exception of in extremly rare circumstances, to find functioning comercial-used shotguns and hunting rifles. I am not aware of a military force that is known to abandon behind funcioning firearms.So i suggest that every military-grade firearm that is found lying on the common loot table(on the ground) is either broken or with missing parts (broken barrels,stocks etc) and render the player to scavage and repair it (scavage other broken weapons for parts.) You can still have a low chance of obtainining a working military weapon from a soldier-corpse.but most of the full-functioning pristine military weapons will be locked in safes,making the survivor look for notes and other clues in order to obtain the password,keys and go on a small scavage hunt. Have some backstory like: *i find a soldier's dead body inside the firstation in Elektro and a note,it says* Cpl Williams I'm seriously wounded,i don't think i'm gonna make it. If you see this note i have gathered some working firearms in Balota airfield. Sergent Barry has the key,he is gone for hours now,i sent him to the church for some recon and never returned. The password is 5432 *i go to the church and find Sergant Barry dead,i read his story from a note and loot a key from him* I know from Wiliams that the key is for the safe. *i go to Balota,find the safe,type 5432 and use the key,and i find a pristine scoped M4 inside along with some other provisions. Sorry for long text,but please take your time to read it :P It's a very nice system IMO. Edit:Grammar and minor tweaks. Edit 2:More minor tweaks.

    Well we can just make guns and ammo rarer and have the scavaged hunt for good condition gear.Come on! :D It would be fun,also a very good way to learn the background story of the Cherno infection while having fun looking for gear!

    I spent some time on the mod too,so i know the ABCs.But generally i'm the kind of guy that is like: "Let's be friends" and gets shot in the face :P Nevertheless,i keep trying to be friendly to people.I am fully geared right now and i'm technically a noob but i don't seem to find a reason to log in yet.Too many guns so little zombies,game feels like a Deathmatch at this stage rather than a survival sim.

    I'll be straight with you,i'm just looking for ways to make firearms in the game more valuable. In this stage of the game,every avarage Joe can get his hands on an M4 (myself included a 32hours player) which is kind of unreasonable.When you go visit the Airfield,at least find them locked rather than just lying there on top of someone's bed(something which was unacceptable by my superiors back when i did my time) or at least give a very very rare and low chance to find it on a corpse fully working but dirty.Then it would be realistic,right?

    You have a ton of beans on you,yet you die because you lack the tool to open them. That does not make sense either. How much time does it take for firearms to break down when exposed to the enviroment due to lack of maintance,humidity and other? I'm sure that they would not be in pristine condition though. Also weapons in a situation like a zombie Apocalypse would be like super-important,not many of them would be left untouched. Edit:Yes,you still got to search for the magazines ;) So technically what i'm suggesting is to take things up a notch and make it a little more difficult.

    I am fully aware of that,what i'm saying is that when you find one it shouldn't be ready to lock and load, and force the survivor to repair,clean or find other weapon's functioning parts in order to use them.
  23. They should cuff you and torture you instead. Or if you didn't want to be helped,ran away/attack them.I don't see your problem, maybe they indeed misunderstand you, but still they were nice enough to offer you food. You should consider yourself lucky it wasn't some other psycho. Edit:Also i agree,the fresh spawns may as well be reincarnated bandits. But if they get helped by friendlies,some percentage may change their mentality and try to help others instead,so it's a good thing without excepition from a fresh spawned bandit to a noob survivor.

    Medic Helmet and other forms of visual ID

    So long story short, the ability to spray paint symbols on clothing that are depicting the person's individual play-style. It's a very good idea,and it would be a shame to limit it just on helmets. If we could have medic TTSKO variaties (medic-camo uniforms),i would be very pleased. :)

    I was always looking for a good enough reason on why to visit New York sometime.... Thanks for that. But realisticlly speaking,the girls don't wear torned shirts and pants in this picture :P
