Needs some music.... Now it's Perfection! :D

Hello people,my suggestion is preety self explanatory. What if we give a certain percentage chance,of the player droping his ammo on the ground while reloading his weapon in full spinting? Reloading should be best done while stationary cause alot of mishaps can happen while running. Maybe it's a bit much on the realism side, but it could give a nice touch to the game. What is your opinion on this? (Edit:Grammar)

Hello people,i had alot of doubts whether i should or not make this suggestion. Mainly because i'm aware of the engine's limitations, and this is something that is not a small task. What i'm talking about is the ability to terraform the Cherno landscape. Meaning, with the help of tools (shovels, pickaxes, etc) making changes on the natural enviroment. From opening tunnels to creating massive hills from scratch and smoothing uneven surfaces. Here's an example of my suggestion portrayed on Wurm-a game run on Java engine.

Just try this a couple of days..

That's the key word. They have no sense of self control and their pain sensors are closed. Without pain and self control it's only natural they have increased strenght and mobility. -
What would be a realistic level of stamina/run time?
Damnyourdeadman replied to UltimateGentleman's topic in General Discussion
Maybe, have a "well rested" buff for sleeping sufficiently(log out/sleep for x time). Something like "Energy of Repose" on Aion (if you ever played that game you know). In order to receive the buff, you must rest or log out of the game for a period of time. The percentage you have upon logging in is based off of how long you rested. So in return, survivors that are well rested could have stamina bonus.Eg: -

Nah,ammo's fine. What we need to do,is make zombies so much of a threat at close quarter combat that players are forced to waste bullets on them. No more "using the fireaxe for the sake of sparing ammo". Zombies should be ruthless and relentless predators stronger and more pain resistant than the average human. -
We need more community involvment! Official "Private" Servers?
Damnyourdeadman replied to Wayze's topic in General Discussion
Same here,1 charachter per server like back in the mod should be the ideal course of action. None likes the current system, almost none supports it. And i have the impression Rocket said, that the team have already made their preperations around this system and have no intention of removing it.So basicly we are stuck with it. -
Yep,decreased intrest is a suitable term. But that's to be expected,it's an Alpha after all. I'll start playing again when the survival aspect starts to define the game. That means zombies and navemesh. Some fixes on the desync would be welcome as well,i hate seeing my character dancing inside cities. I'd rather quit and wait than fight with lag.

Ammo loss chance while reloading and sprinting
Damnyourdeadman replied to Damnyourdeadman's topic in Suggestions
I was talking while reloading bullets into weapons like mosin or magnum, the magazine as a whole is for m4s,AKs and etc... I'm talking about all weapon categories :) It's not realistic that your charachter sprints full speed dodging incoming fire while perfoming a perfect 3 second reload every time. -
What would be a realistic level of stamina/run time?
Damnyourdeadman replied to UltimateGentleman's topic in General Discussion
Around 2.5 to 5 minutes continious full sprinting before your charachter needs to rest. Also take account the weight of the carried items and the survivor's overall energy levels to affect the stamina. If sleep is ever implemented (which i doubt, but i would really love to see) then there should be a cap on stamina requiring few hours(game time) to resort to sleep. -
When talking about the inital stages of an outbreak,i would find it resonable for people to find that the best course of action would be to baricade themselves in their basement rather than the upper level which is crawling with infected. The initial stage,is scavage and hide. The best place to start repopulation(community) though, would be on an unoccupied island, not too close from the shore yet not too far away, easily accessible with a rowboat.Assuming our zombie friends don't know how to swim, humanity is saved.
-
Yep,but if there is a chance the engine allows it,it would be awesome. Just imagine a whole server getting together, trying to make Mount Dean. :P If the world tommorow was to be filled by infected, the best shelter for humans would be underground. Making massive mines, and corridors streaching as long as the eye can see. Heh,i can think of a thousand ingame applications,but....once again the engine is the deciding factor.
-
I don't think that would work dude.... I mean i never tried it irl (well duh) but i assume, the axe would just bounce off the rocky surface unlike the pickaxe. The axe just has a more blunt surface which makes it unsuitable for this kind of operation.

Generators guys. If bassebuilding is implemented, aren't they gonna make it ingame as well?

CARS SUGGESTION (REALISTIC AND POSSIBLE)
Damnyourdeadman replied to DOMINATING's topic in Suggestions
I literrally went through every pictutre and to my amazement you have amassed an impressive car collection that fits the setting of Chernarus. Some fit more than others but overall the time you have spent providing each and every picture link to the individual care name(+variants) is something that makes me want to applaud you for your effort. I know it's just me,but the team should really consider some of the vechicles provided in this thread. -
Ammo loss chance while reloading and sprinting
Damnyourdeadman replied to Damnyourdeadman's topic in Suggestions
When you try to load the bullet in the mag, you still have a chance of accidently dropping it. I know it well, cause it has happened to me (G3 mag). Yes i agree, but there is one small diference. The food that drops from the open cans, can't be recovered, the bullets can. They will just lie on the ground. The only frustration would be the time to pick it back up,but while in combat that would be hard. It would give an incentive to players to look for cover while reloading. -
Preety cool video dude. What's the name of the song playing on the background?

The extremly low framerate, especially in the cities is really unberable. I was in the city, suddenly fps drops....then I see my character move in ultra low slow motion, like the game is running on a potato (which is not the case).Suddenly a zombie comes flying towards me,going through the walls of the Pub and starts to punch me,i try to wield my axe-not working.I rage pressing the shortcut button-1 1 1 1 11111111 i'm like "WORK DAMMIT" but noooo the rubberbanding equips unequips my axe repetadly,i try wasd all around, the avatar is not responding at all, after 30 secs i see him do a retarded dance walking forward, backwards, left and right.....while all theese things are taking place, the zombie is hitting me,slowly bleeding to my death.I see the screen freeze and next thing you know, the "You are Dead" screens appears. Well on the bright side the lag stops after that. :P

People copying dayz are doing it wrong.
Damnyourdeadman replied to Slyguy65's topic in General Discussion
I'm not saying that we should eardicate the lone-wolf mentality.I'm just saying,to make it extremly hard and stealth based as it is realisticly inteded. It's not realistic to have one-man armies going for a stroll around Cherno running, plowing through hordes of weak ass zombies. That's the idea, giving more value to the individual survivor rather than just a "walking closet". The loss upon death impact would be fairly increased.Along with your gear, you would lose all the aquired knowledge. That would also help greatly distinguishing certain survivors from others when forging communities. If a survivor that has offered alot of time with his skills helping the community and dies, the loss of death will affect the group as whole. I agree persistant storage will not change anything, that's why i suggested the things above. -

Damnyourdeadman replied to Slyguy65's topic in General Discussion
As long as we have complete anonimity and no incentive for players to work together as a team,i agree the game is doomed to be a large dm for life. Zombies should be the primary antagonist,on that note i'm suggesting zombies are made the primary cause of death in DayZ,rather than bandits. So that people start forming groups in order to survive the infected AI alone. Also,I will say it again,a trading system should be in order, survivors in DayZ shouldn't be "know it all" experts in what they do. I'm thinking that the more you do something the better you get and are allowed to progress to diferent crafting/actions and improve your effectivness (passive skill tree-like Aion styled but without purchasing the recipes, they unlock with skill). Like let's say i'm bandaging-first aid skill raises-i can collect a sample-first skill raises-i can determine how to use the blood test kit- skill raises-im able to bloodbag-skill raises-i'm able to make natural painkillers.Same principle should be introduced with the rest actions. Having people skilled at something(eg:good doctor) would mean an asset(i am credit to team). -
How difficult would you like the game to be?
Damnyourdeadman replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
-Military weapons should be rare, but civilian/ammo should be uncommon+add very rare canned goods. -
Do you want to see personal statistics on death? ex: Killer, kills, shots fired etc...
Damnyourdeadman replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
Yes,at least a death report showing your cause of death, your killer's name, days survived and number of zombies/animals you killed. There is a big diference between COD and BF3 statistics from the suggested system. You don't have the all-magical TAB button to show your stats while you are alive, only you can view them at the death screen,it's private information and not public so i don't see how it's turning the game into a competition and is immersion breaking. (black screen-immersion stops-you are dead-view stats-start from scratch-immerse yourself-repeat) -
It's not about logic,it's about balance.Surely in the spirit of logic when not using a can opener dosen't mean that every time you will waste some food, yet in DayZ it happens every time  .

Do anyone know when is the Q2, Q3 and Q4?
Damnyourdeadman replied to kircheschm's topic in General Discussion
My thoughts exactly, but in all honesty i really think that this dude is just new to the internet in general xD Kirchesch, use the "search function" on the top right of the page to find more content about you concerns. Don't spam the forums with already existing posts. -
I don't think food spoiling is implemented yet,but in the future it will.
