Use your heads before suggesting. If devs implemented whatever came from the top of your heads, the final game form would be something like this..... Children throwning scat to each other and eating each other corpses. This isn't the Walking Dead, but even if it was,a child with no adult supervision has nearly 0 chances of survival alone in a zombie infested world.

moving furniture,opening drawers and closets.
Damnyourdeadman replied to gannon46's topic in Suggestions
We should make furniture dynamic objects and give them psysics. From tables to couches, and also the ability to drag them around the world. Make every furniture ingame craftable, interactable and destroyable/repairable. -

DayZ moving to new engine - ENFUSION
Damnyourdeadman replied to nexventor's topic in General Discussion
Well he still spoke of a new engine when in reality it's the same(moddified version). That's not big news, the community was always aware of this information. My problem is not whether DayZ moves to a new engine or not.But charachter profanity is something important, and his phrasing was clearly wrong, unintentional or not i really don't know. This is not something worth making an annoucment out of. When someone just refers the word "clunky" the RV engine is the first thing that comes to mind xD. I just hope theese core engine changes are enough to fix that. -
Heh,i see your cute little toys....

I really think this should be implemented. :) Also make it so,that the playet limps when he has one foot broken and crawl when he has both of them.

DayZ moving to new engine - ENFUSION
Damnyourdeadman replied to nexventor's topic in General Discussion
Rocket announcing at E3 that the game is moving to a new engine, when in reality he's talking about large modifications on the already existing RV engine is a very cheap move in my book.Regardless of everyone's opinion the engine comes with various limitations. For instance,i doubt it will be ever possible to jump and grab a tall fence and climp to the other side, also i doubt the engine would allow a grabbing/takedown mechanic to make the zombies more ruthless. Modifing the current engine is a common knowledge across the community, but with what he presented as "new" information in an official and serious gaming hotspot convention is in fact a lie,so basically he decepted trolled the whole community. -
Full auto fire with G3 is very impractical. Tons of recoil and weapon accuracy is extremly decresed. All Ingame weapon values should be tweaked in regards of their realistic pros and cons. I'm highly against the idea,of taking away from realism for the sake of balance. That beign said, the choice of full or semi rate of fire should be included as well.

Rocket discusses Smoking and Cigarettes in Day Z
Damnyourdeadman replied to jasonb's topic in Suggestions
Like i said at one of my previous comments,if they implemented a morale system,i could see this working. That's why i said...."I can only see them make it ingame as part of aesthetics, nothing more." -
Implement a sleep mechanic is way better. :) Also make all furniture dynamic rather than static objects. Imo,every item ingame should have implemented psysics, and allow player interaction(moveable/openable/destructable and allow sit/sleep/etc).

I would really love to have this, and with the food degration on the horizon,it would make an excellent addition.

Skinning an animal should require a considerable ammount of time in order to remove the pelt, insides, and make it eatable.Yet with the current system you just equip the knife, skin animal and insta-meat and hide.Instead based on realism, you would have to: -carry the animal carcus -find a safe spot, away from zombies -work at least 15 minutes gutting it with the knife to finish the action In addition, every action to be split in sub-actions,this will allow you to follow the skinning process along with your survivor and immerse yourself, rather than wait 15 minutes afk for the action to be complete. Sub actions could be stuff like... Make initial cut Remove internal organs Remove skin Cut Steaks Expose bone Harvest Bone I would really love to see a system in this spirit be implemented. Same principle would work with crafting. From bows and arrows to T-shirts and rags, all take a specific ammount of time to craft. Some more, some less but nothing is insta-made. Even the tents and fireplace kits, requrire time to set up. So,what is your opinion on this? :) Is it a bloody nuisance,or something that could improve gameplay and realism?

A lot of people are getting banned because they are hacking scum. :) Regardless of the game beign in Alpha or not,VAC always has a reason before issuing a global ban.Your argument is invalid.

More Realistic and Time-Consuming Interactions
Damnyourdeadman replied to Damnyourdeadman's topic in Suggestions
Yeah, maybe you are right about the time. Initially my train of thoughts was find a way to force the player move the animal in a safe location and work rather than insta gut it on the spot (open field) with zombies roaming around, so in order to achive that,i suggested the 15 minute timer. Everything though is subjective to change. :) -
More Realistic and Time-Consuming Interactions
Damnyourdeadman replied to Damnyourdeadman's topic in Suggestions
How about this then... A cow drops 4 steaks. Every 3.6 mins of spent work would produce one steak. So spenting 14,4 mins of work would produce all the steaks (3,6 x 4=14,4). -
More Realistic and Time-Consuming Interactions
Damnyourdeadman replied to Damnyourdeadman's topic in Suggestions
Excellent suggestion, sub actions would take realism to whole diferent level. Also they would.... fix this. ;) *I edited the post involving your idea, hope you don't mind* -
I would actually love to have this :D It would make sense actually,i can't shake the thought that we gut the meat and "just" drop it in our backpack along with the other equipment. This is going to fix that.

Wood mills and quarries + machinery
Damnyourdeadman replied to UltimateGentleman's topic in Suggestions
Tbh i would like to see machinery ingame. Not talking about, like a whole factory assembly line machinery, just a drill,a saw blade and preety much the equipment that people carry to their garages, just enough to open a workshop in my base, sustained by a generator. :) -
This is more like it.

*Note to self* "When a zombie apocalypse breaks out, always have a pillow" Come on dude, seriously? Truth is i find it highly unnessecairy to further elaborate on this suggestion, but here goes: Who on the right mind would carry a whole pillow for the purpose of muzzling his shots rather than crafting an impovised suppressor?

PLEASE let us attach flares to our backpacks
Damnyourdeadman replied to hotcakes's topic in Suggestions
Well, let's see it from a realistic prespective. My pistol that i hold on my right hand has flashlight attachment. My hands are free, certainly my aim would be better. Having to shoot while holding the pistol on the right hand and the flashlight on the other would prove more of a challenge. That would explain the accuracy loss. I made a relevant post about it a while back ago. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/187650-allow-one-handed-weapon-attack-with-flashlight/#entry1932375 -
PLEASE let us attach flares to our backpacks
Damnyourdeadman replied to hotcakes's topic in Suggestions
Yeah,i know,so let's make it with both. With the only diference that the pistol mobility and accuracy is decreased with the flashlight on the other hand. That could work right? -

Or better yet a one handed weapon+flashlight combo.
