Saving animals using medic supplies?
Damnyourdeadman replied to NagsterTheGangster's topic in Suggestions
Sure, when livestock gets into play,i believe keeping animals healthy/fed and facilitated to protect them from harsh weather conditions and temperatures will play a significant role. -
While the tatoos have been mentioned in older posts, truth is they are not visible under clothing. So one would have to take his shirt/pants etc to show it to the others which is not a very effective way for distinction. For a charachter decal, sure i can see them working. Now as for the other part,i'm sure in the world of DayZ junkies were the first to be eaten by zombies.Using hard drugs in an apocalyptic enviroment like Chernarus is purely suicidal. As a chemist, working to produce medicine though,is something that could prove to be very usefull and i would love to have a way to craft my own medicine. Welcome to the forums, use the search function on the top right,to see older posts concerning your suggestions.

It's actially not a bad idea, but the main question is how are you gonna achieve that? What would trigger the grenade to explode? Maybe a claymore would be a more plausible aproach.
-
Dude,go home you are drunk.... But,if by any chance you are not,i would highly apreciate if you could kindly furter elaborate on your post. The only thing the title demonstrated is your inability to use the English language. :P

The insanely deadly low fall damage is something that should be adressed, from the times of Arma 2. No guys, you don't die from a 4 meter drop, that's retarded. At 5 meters,i would expect to disclocate your ankle or break bones at best, but death? Come on.... In a recent Tweet dev said that "ladders are getting some love" so now it would be a good chance to address this problem as well, seriously the fall damage is the number 1 reason of retarded deaths. It should be adressed now that the game is in Alpha stages and i kind of see it as a good addition in the to-do list.

We would propablly turn cannibal and devour you whole if you were to suggest something like that. A developer (Hicks) made a misunderstanded statement on his twitter about zombies never beign the main threat (he meant players). People thought, that he said, zombies would never be a threat. After that, things turned ugly.
-
No,don't be,anyways you took it one step furter with the use of tarp. I'm happy we get to have more than 1 post concerning player crafted tents. So that means the suggestion is popular among the community and the devs have higher chance seeing it.
-
Yes definetely,i actually made a suggestion about player-crafted tents not long ago. Another good idea would be to allow survivors to paint the leather tent to their desired colours using the spraycans. So you can have a camo tent using green and black spraycans.

Mine is that blue one,you can't miss it....

As i was playing the last time,i found myself in the woods, completly free of any presence. I took my time and read a book,i stayed for an hour in complete silence. So i thought to myself: -Should i be able to stay in the middle of the forsest for an hour without no real danger? -Or zombies to be able to track down my general position regardless of where i am and search for me? So i took the liberty to make a poll to see your view on this.In my opinion a DayZ survivor should constantly be bombarded with a massive number of zombies. So i found it a good idea for zombies to be able to have a general idea of the players location, regardless of line of sight or noise. It would be good to have a smell mechanic as it will make the game more challenging, survival driven and entice the need for shelters/safehouses.

The Community's List of Suggested Weapons for Dayz Standalone (Version: 1.29)
Damnyourdeadman replied to alexeistukov's topic in Suggestions
I don't know if this has been suggested, but i found a preety intreasting weapon. The Armsel Striker shotgun which was designed in South Africa during 1981. -
Better yet if we had the Thompson in game, are you thinking what i'm thinking?

EXP - Map now shows the players exact position
Damnyourdeadman replied to gibonez's topic in General Discussion
People that had been around from the mod days, know the map like the back of their hand and not care so much. But I think it would do good for new players to get further aquainted with the map. This system would help. Now,i know it's not realisticly supported but it pays off the effort for all the map piece scavage hunt i had to went through. Having a map ingame was worthless because: -Very time consuming to find all the pieces and put together -People prefered websites as,it gave more details. -Using the map as a new player was very confusing,so most of them give up on them and navigated with experience and landmarks factors. It was a very wise move not to implement this on hardcore though,as i would be very frustrated. -
I really don't get it... People scream realism and point their finger at every little thing, but suddenly it's ok to have a bandit team of 20 all with Rocket's face. And here comes the "Buuut the clothes are different" argument. Clothes-smothes,If you are indeed in favor of realism, customization in my book is an important to have feature. Among camo wearing players there is little to none distinciton. That, has to change.

Is there a 'story' sharing section?
Damnyourdeadman replied to tootights (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
New Player Discussion A place for questions, guides and stories about your first experiences in DayZ Standalone -
It would be nice if Rocket wasted resources on a good advanced character customization system, rather than putting his head ingame...for a game that has almost no other means of indefication, facial features would really mean the world to social interactions.
-
I suggest you try reading this in a Russian accent. I died from laughter! :D
-
This is a very good idea for marking a location. Maybe not so much for surrendering, but now with persistant storage ingame,we could use a flag to mark the position of our stash place/base.

What i'm saying is that we emphasize alot on the loot which is wrong. There sould be more emphasis on the individual survivor. I bet i can leave my survivor idle for 2 hours in the woods of an empty server, and not see a single zombie. That's not good.Zombies feel more like a comsetic element, rather than anything you should be trying your best to avoid.Post apocalyptic zombie survival to me means beign bombarded with zombies every second, not beign able to stand still anywhere, make plans, fortifications, secure areas, utilize my team specializations (skills). It's still in early stages, and to be expected but DayZ now feels more like a "cops and robbers" Arma game mod...besides the hunger/thirst element, which is preety easy aquring food.
-
There really isn't a reason not to kill another player besides beign a nice guy. The zombies are not a threat,it's preety easy to gear up and there are no special assets the individual player can aquire to contribute to othes (skill).Like it or not, truth be told, all survivors in DayZ are basically the same:Walking bags of loot.Game wise, the only reason to team up with a player is to socialize and kill other people for their loot.Anything besides that gets boring preety quick.
-
Many gamers, including myself, usually buy retail and not online. The only game that made me bother use my Steam account was DayZ. Besides, the proposed system is not equal to both low budget and high budget gamers. Who are we to decide which server the player plays, judging soley on the account value? Imo i would be very pissed if i saw something like that implemented. It's pure discrimination.

A very intreasting article i found: http://science.education.nih.gov/animalresearch.nsf/Story1/Making+Medicines+from+Poisonous+Snakes It seems that in small doses snake venom can be treated as medicine for various conditions. It would be cool if we could milk the snake's poison and use it like that. :)

Dean Hall on Vehicles and Barricading
Damnyourdeadman replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Guys,we are talking about having to jump from server to server just to find a single part. What if that single part is always on the survivor's inventroty and he decides to install/unistall it every time he needs to mobilize his vechicle? What would we do if just before we kill him,he decides to destroy that said part or even worse logs out? How am i supposed to know where the said part exists? By rumors? You have to be kidding.... I really don't see any merit in having this system. As i said on reddit,if multiple worlds/maps were supported in a single server, and the said loot were spread across every world, making the survivor cover huge distances in order to find them,i could see this working. -
That's a big problem with the game.

Haha yeah i see your point. :D Imagine seeing videos on youtube about massive groups of people, dragging sofas from Cherno to Elektro :P It would be hilarious!
