    Lol yeah,i see what you mean. I think at first sight,people assume i'm talking about eating worms,along with fruit or something. xD When in reality,i'm simply suggesting a secondary way to aquire bait for fishing. :)

    On second thought,if the baricading mechanic includes a secondary mechanic for zombies and people to go through windows,then it would definetely be something looking forward to.

    It's because we are far early from seeing bug free infected that are considered a threat to the survivors. I don't see a benefit in having a barricading mechanic disccussion without functioning zombies. When the renderer is implemented and if we get significant performance boost,only then we could increase their numbers (who knows how long that will take).

    I don't know guys....i have so many questions still..... I mean sure,we get horticulture,but food is so abudant that i find it quite unnecesserary. We have bear models in the game files is there any progress on aggressive animals? Also what about non-leathal weapons? Did they manage to fix the bug that makes you throw your weapon? Is hacking beign adressed (security fix)? Does the weather affect the survivor's temperature or his items only?
  5. I'll be honest,i'm getting sick of the bitch slapping zombies. They are supposed to instill fear at the survivor given they are lethal at close quarters. But i can't help at laughing at how weak they are.A zombie based of movies and novels is the last thing you want to get near you. But people would rather use their axe,not to waste a bullet on them. Will we ever see a tackle/takedown/grab mechanic implemeted on them and encourage the survivor to use their firearms? In their current buggy state i highly doubt it,there is much debugging to be done before talking about something like that.

    Balancing item rarity and respawn rate is something to be configured in the future,when the majority of items make it ingame. Concerning the zombie factor i agree,zombies feel more like a nuisance rather than something you should be avoiding. Zombies have integrated binocullar lenses in their eyeballs,meaning they can aggro you from miles away,sometimes they come ice-skating behind you.They hit before the animation and ruin your gear in 1 hit,there were even cases of Rocky zombies that 1 hit=insta death.They trip their asses from cliffs and ragdoll-slide all the way to the coast. From the mod days Chernarus was a wasteland.Meaning there were never hordes or large quantities of zombies roaming around.Also they were never such a threat, to make you look for shelter.That means that concepts such as barricading and base building will serve a PVP only oriented purpose which is kind of sad.There is so much potential...but frankly at the current state,DayZ feels like a bad version of Arma with hunger and thirst mechanics.That's not really a bad thing,but then again...you wouldn't call " The Sims" a survival game.

    Personally i would wait until jerry cans are implemented. Have the option to soak a person in gasoline then use an ignition source. Having a person first soaked in gasoline would result in some preety intreasting social interactions.(begging for life,intimidation,etc)

    Concerning clothing,how about we scavage different varities of sewing threads as loot? Depending on the garment's coulor use the sewing thread as a medium(consumable) and the sewing kit as the tool. The riders jacket,and all the rest leather items could use leather+sewing kit in order to repair. :) About meele weapons repair/crafting,i made a suggestion in the past.(excuse my shameless bump,check it out if you wish)

    The leather sack is a player crafted backpack that made it's apperance in the recent patch notes. However a backpack with this level of detail can not be achieved with the help of a mere kitchen knife. Instead of this recipe: = I propose this viable and more realistic recipe: = I know it's not much of a suggestion,but a good start in using the sewing kit as a means for crafting items rather than just a repair tool. Edit:Included the knife after popular demand.

    I like the way you think! It's true,you have to prepare the leather pelt before sewing it,so further quality degradation for the knife. :)

    I would expect the common sewing kit to be equipped with scissors(a quick google search of "sewing kit"). My reasoning was that the sewing kit alone,can cover that function. So i thought i would exclude the knife as it's not the right tool for accurate and symetrical cuts compared to scissors.

    So,from 3:00 to 5:09,you saw a couple of guys holding up inside the church, Your intention was to kill both(even though you said "friendly" which was bs). They did not shoot you on sight,but instead you were planning to pull a fast one on them. In my book,it's very low and cowardish way to kill somebody.

    Yep DayZ is the perfect game for people to get in touch with your inner tyrant+there is not really much to do atm rather than pvping. Your encounters will not change,because there are no skills,there is no endgame goal and no threats. This is LootZ,the faster you realise it,the better. (Of course this is subject to change,always remember that game is still in Alpha)

    Chernarus is mostly made up of vast forest areas. When a sniper is taking cover behind a tree wearing camo clothing finding him is like seatching a needle in the haystack. It plays a big role in pvp and it's the number one reason players prefer the hunting backpack over the larger capacity mountain one.

    From what i've seen from the recent bugs,i believe they already have a knockdown mechanic ready,and will implement it on zombies eventually. In mt opinion when attacked from multiple zombies (preferance 5 or above) you should not be able to recover from knockdown. Subsequently the survior is constantly beign knocked down without getting a chance to get up and dies.

    I'm sorry,i don't quite understand what are you suggesting. Are you talking about player man hordes or npc survivors? Seasons were discussed but are not possible,because of the time consuming work on map changes. (retexturing ground/building,trees to show the snow effect etc). Edit:Sorry i'm drunk,roaming zombie hordes are planned as a future implementation.So yeah if everything goes according to plan on the dev's side,we will be seeing huge zombies hordes forming and roaming the map sooner than we expect ;)

  24. While i agree with you,imo it would be better if devs focus the weight of loss more on the charachter rather than gear. What i mean is losing the ingame knowlede you charachter has gained while trying to survive. For example i have a charachter that i trained him spenting a lot of valuable time how to fix a car,a helicopter and is to be an excellent chef. If i were to lose that charachter i would have to start over again building his skills from scratch,which imo has way more impact loss. :)

    It's because every survivor in DayZ is... -Worthless/Lootbag:No Survivor in DayZ has special or unique skills(proficency),everyone knows medical knowledge,cooking,engineering etc. -Consqequence Free:You shoot,you kill,it's game,all good -Anonymous:Nobody knows me,i have a face like everyone else,and no means of indefication. -Bored/Lack of Threat:Zombies look more like a part of the enviromental background than an actual threat....Boooring,let's shoot freshspawns :D -In Fear/Not Trustfull:When you get betrayed from a survivor the first time,it's hard to continue to trust anyone after that. -Lacking reason to co-operate/teamwork goal:There currently are no tasks besides bloodbaging that require 2 or more survivors.
