In DayZ tents have a special room in the hearts of the Mod players. They could be set up in any flat surface, and work as a means of loot storage. We are not far early from seeing the first ones make it to the next experimental patches for SA. Yet unlike the mod, naturally i would expect them to be able to be picked up and redeployed again in a diferent position if a player wishes.Additionally, and most importantly players should be able to craft their own improvised tent from leather pelts. Possible Recipe (purely fictional) Depending on the animal pelt(boar, cow, goat, etc),it would be cool if we had diferent variants. Also, another good idea would be to change the tent to your desired colour, using the spary-paint cans. So,what you think? Feel free to express your opinions. :) Edit:Title and minor grammar changes

I agree, that's why i included the ability to change the tent's color in my suggestion.

Anyone feel the .52 nerf to the V3S was too much?
Damnyourdeadman replied to DickCheney's topic in General Discussion
I recently saw a video on WOBO. He says that when going up hills it is recommended to use the turbo function. (2:19) Turbo function uses 25% more fuel. The results you got were with turbo use or with regular driving speed? -

Granted you loot a lockpick you can lock/unlock every door. It's still early stages of barricading, you can just bash it open with your axe.

While i can see behind your reasoning, imo the best and ideal course of action would be confidentiality reporting this information in the hands of Battle Eye's personnel. The server owners can do very little in comparison.

It would be wiser to pm a mod here on the forums instead of publicly posting the video and the hacker's information in plain view for all to see. The majority of these vids tend to get locked pretty quick because they are against forum rules. Hacking: If you believe you have found evidence of an unknown hack, submit the evidence to one of the Forum Staff and it will be looked into and verified. Please do not make topics or post videos. They will be locked or removed.

Hahaha oh the irony...it seems someone found the suggested grenade rigged teddy ingame. Here's a picture out of it,this made me smile.... :D ((All credits go to TheProGameFreak for posting the image on Reddit))

Using third party programs ro manipulate the game in any way,is against the DayZ user license agreement as a whole. You get equally banned even if you don't make public use. (Seriously you come to the official forums talking about using hacks, are you sane?)

Clarification on "Base Building"
Damnyourdeadman replied to Caboose187 (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
What i really care about base-building is for structures to obey the laws of physics. A building should co-respond to it's initially placed foundations. That means, sky fortresses or sea floating hangars, have absolutely no place in DayZ. However that doesn't mean i'm against "fortresses" granted they require vast amounts of resources and construction time. Imo a player should rightfully take pride and it makes sense for his creation itself to portray his dedication of valuable time and resources. I need to clarify though, that by no means this implies that a player should be free to make his personal "Babel" tower. Obviously there should be a cap of how many floors we are allowed to build depending on our choice of the structure's underlying foundation. Because DayZ is all about realism,we cannot implement a message restricting the player, saying: "you cannot build as you have reached your structure's floor cap". Instead building above the foundation's support limit would break them jeopardizing the structure's integrity as a whole. -
Realistically based and original suggestion. Nice one!

Well i'm not sure if the RDG 5 comes with a spoon or with pin only. But even if that were the case you could still use metal wire and bind around the spoon to force it down while another piece is tied on the pin.

OP says.... "I bought DayZ on Steam.I have a problem with voice chat.Tried everything in the settings, allways the same...still can't hear.Only some wheezing,i don't not like it.Many say that the problem in the steam, steam mole relationship conflicts with game communication, others say that the problem is in my headphones (Razer Kraken Pro Black ). The microphone works great and Skype and other online games.Help please! " (Deciphered with Google Translate)

Water, how do i know if its safe to drink?
Damnyourdeadman replied to Karmaterror's topic in New Player Discussion
Well,as far as i know water contamination is still not yet implemented. So currently,a water testing kit will be as useless as the water purification tablets in game. But on the long run,i would love to see a water testing kit using ph. values such as this one . -

Would natural gas pipelines work in Case of Apocalypse?
Damnyourdeadman posted a topic in General Discussion
This is a part series of the Would phones/internet work in Case of Apocalypse topic. The purpose of these posts is to discuss whether everyday commodities would still persist after the apocalypse. For how long would the natural gas pipelines continue to function without human intervention? Would they get depleted or cease their function from a lack of maintenance perspective? Discuss. :) -
Would natural gas pipelines work in Case of Apocalypse?
Damnyourdeadman replied to Damnyourdeadman's topic in General Discussion
So long story short,in case of an apocalypse the main circuit pipelines will be taken offline because the turbines that propel the gas will run out of juice. The only way to restore circulation to the main gas arteries is to bring electricity back. However the pigs or gas cylinders from around the houses are still pretty much functional and we are able to have the resource from them scavenged if we have a tank truck in our possession. -
make v3s (or vehicle in general) more silence
Damnyourdeadman replied to lauri7x3's topic in Suggestions
Maybe now with the upcoming car parts devs will let us equip a silencer in the exhaust... :P -
Would natural gas pipelines work in Case of Apocalypse?
Damnyourdeadman replied to Damnyourdeadman's topic in General Discussion
So these tanks outside some houses in Cherno are called "pigs". Theoratically speaking, would these tanks still function on a household if filled? Also, granted we have a tank truck,is it possible to deposit/withdraw gas from or in these tanks? -
Devs are taking alot of time trying to push new buildings ingame. For example, the prison complex was planned for implementation months ago. If we were to have a city at this scale that is unique and doesn't feel like it's been copy pasted,i doubt it can be accomplished in a "reasonable" timeframe.

Would natural gas pipelines work in Case of Apocalypse?
Damnyourdeadman replied to Damnyourdeadman's topic in General Discussion
Well yeah, supposedly "if" gas pipelines were still functional in Chernarus, that could mean that a number of fridges and ovens could still be functional as well. Also as you mentioned, some of the heaters that work on gas could keep going on even after the apocalypse. In this principle,i wouldn't consider it too farfetched for some houses in Chernarus,to provide a working stove and heating. :D -
I get that, what Boneboys means is that you didn't have to include the Russian format in the first place. On the topic now, zombie AI is still under development. While i too, would like to see increased numbers of zombies and have them actually pose a threat on the survivor, seeing them eating canned food and taking up weapons is a bit over the top.
