  1. After all the major movement problems are ironed out, they should start adding the equivalent of the ShackTac Movement Addons like they did in the Mod (bunnyhop over fence to escape zeds anyone?). Also it would have to be realistic (speed would be related to carry weight + other variables). Do 10 burpees with a backpack and gear in real life. Now imagine you're being shot at. ^_^ Good idea though. Would like to see ShackTac addons in standalone :D .. Sobaka TYS

Drugs, drug addiction and cooking drugs

First thing guys, Game raters probably wouldn't like it if people were doing hard drugs ingame. So how about my alternative to fix this problem and make it authentic and fit into DayZ. Ok now you already take drugs in the game: Mod - Morphine - Painkillers - Antibiotics - Epi Pen - Various cans of Soda (caffeine) - Wipes contain antiseptic - Sepsis Bandage contain Comfrey leaves Standalone - Blood testing kit? (indicator liquid?) - Disinfectant spray - Saline bag - Antibiotics - Charcoal tabs - Epi Pen - Painkillers - Alcohol tincture - Vitamin pills - Water purification tabs - Morphine First of all you should get addicted to morphine if you take too much. I don't know about anything else but you should have to take more to get the same effect if there is not a significant time period between usage. Perhaps later you could mix and match ingredients/drugs to save inventory space or make something for a particular illness or cure two with one drug. Maybe a simplified version of Alchemy in Skyrim (potential for poisons? ;)). So many possibilities but it must fit in with the 'DayZ Spirit' of things. Rocket has talked about this. I'm sure it will come in its own way. Either way no hard/Illegal drugs! Go play GTA or something similar. Not here. My Empowered two cents.. Sobaka TYS

To Shoot or Not To Shoot.

Dude first of all. You're not that much of a bandit. This is ok. As for the rest of your problems and suggestions.. the game is in ALPHA. You should have known this when you bought it. You, like many others on the forums, want changes implemented when there are many more high priority things being fixed at the moment by the devs. Have some patience. Go play the Mod or something else for a while. Keep up to date on the devblogs and wait for a patch that suits you. Rocket and the team are going as fast as they can. Posting on the forums asking for updates will not get you very far. I'm sorry if its frustrating for you but the game will exponentially get better. Once the major kinks are ironed out things will get better. Good things come to those that wait.. Sobaka TYS

    Add more weapons!

IMFHO only eastern/soviet/chernarussian guns should be in abundance in the game for authenticity. None of this M4 and FNX-45 s***! AND the perspective should be on civilian gear. Look at this for an example: Civilian gear - Common Weapons include hunting rifles, personal defense weapons and small caliber arms. (+ hunting bows ;)) Backpacks include those already coloured ones in the standalone as well as maybe more like you would find in a camping store. Food items include like what is already in the standalone/mod like canned goods, snacks, cereal packets etc (includes civ cooking gear). Military gear - Common in Mil areas Weapons include exclusively Russian/Soviet/Chernarussian weapons and ammo (nothing overpowered). Backpacks are exclusively Russian/Soviet/Chernarussian. Food items include things like the MREs in the Mod (food packages/ration packs). Western Mil/Aid gear - Rare (rarer than Mountain Dew) Weapons includes "throw-away" weapons that are exclusively Western and can only be found at Helicopter Crash sites or other locations and are often dirty, damaged or low on ammunition (may be superior to other weapons). One could scavenge attachments from these and place them on their own eastern weapons. Backpacks are exclusively Western and have a large amount of space/utilities. (eg. a western vest could have a slot that is exclusively for a knife/bayonet and so when equipping that item it is a slightly faster process as you don't have to take it off your weapon/out of your backpack) Food items include long life items and MRE's as well as cooking equipment and supplies. Also includes advanced medical equipment and first aid packs. *Remember all this is exclusively western! My mad two cents at you guys thinking that there could be foreign weapons like it is in the mod.. :( Sobaka TYS
  5. How about the players stats follow the player. As soon as they enter the server, their stats influence the server and change loot etc immediately! Their stats will always carry over from the previous server. As soon as they leave a server the scales will tip a bit to compensate. So it doesn't matter which server they are on, they could commit one murder on 20 different servers, when they go on the 21st server they will still have "20 murders", thus influencing the loot. Works in the other direction. There is no escape for your actions! Could be tied in with this: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/101579-perma-identity-nickname-is-permanent-nickname-as-face-cover-face-conceal-nickname/
  6. We need more zeds and people I agree. But only enough people that it keeps the feeling that you're in the 'Apocalypse setting'. Wait about a year until all the high priority things are underway then the speed will pick up and things will be implemented. If you want the devs to look at the codes and improve it now why its still in development, try and let them know by all means. You have my beans sir if that's it. I just don't want it to turn into hotkey mashing, skill/perk/mastery/class grinding, Super-Gamey dumbed down SurvivalRPG. That is my fear. I want it Rockets way. Sobaka TYS

How about you update yer torret links

Yeah Dchil has it. Get DayZ Commander or Six Updater. Take some initiative and keep up to date.. :P Sobaka TYS
  8. @HellGuy There is already going to be so much stuff implemented, so many things to be lined up and debugged. 80 people max on the current map is all we need anyway (at least until it expands). Any more and the game turns from DayZ to Wasteland. For example take a look at this refined document from the Russian Forums.. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/139952-russian-community-consolidated-suggestions-a-huge-presentation-for-rocket/ As for turning it into an RPG... Well maybe you don't know the potential of this game, where Rocket and the team want it go, where the community wants it go and where it is going to go. The devs have already decided its direction and its not going to be like anything else before. Its like when League of Legends became the next big thing and pushed DotA into the nostalgia cupboard. If you really want to play something like Ultima Online or WoW go PLAY those games. DayZ is not those games.. and hopefully never will be. Rocket doesn't want to suck your wallet dry like Blizzard. He wants a tough, unforgiving Survival Horror Game that provides powerful human experiences that reach out and touch the player. My two cents.. (please don't take it too hard, but its the truth) Sobaka TYS

Random ideas from a VERY tired mind.

@3rdParty please elaborate on why Solo players shouldn't be able to complete something two people can. Like I said there should be IMO a shortcoming or it should take a long, long amount of time to achieve the alternative. Or maybe there would be a temporary fix for the solo player until they find someone who would permanently fix the problem. This would only be for essentials. If there was something like repairing the main rotor assembly on a helicopter that required more than one person than the solo player would have no way of doing it, no alternative, that's it. But if it was something medical for example you could make use of a 'quick fix', head to a hospital or city and get someone to help you so its 'fixed for good'. My two cents, Sobaka TYS
  10. @Hoik Send those links to me as well please! :D More beans for you :beans:

    New server modes!

Please only post one thread next time, not two that are exactly the same! >:( As for your post, here are my reasons why: :emptycan: PVE: if you want this go plays Celery's Chernarus Zombie Survival or just play default ArmA 2 with some friends. :emptycan: Hardcore: I'm assuming once private hive is up there will be an option like in the Mod (eg. no 3rd person, no death messages etc) :emptycan: Noob Servers: If you can't handle even the classic server, this probably isn't the game for you. DayZ was made to be cruel and unforgiving. So short answer to this post is NO! There will only be Hardcore and Classic (thank goodness) My two cents, Sobaka TYS

Should we kill him before he turns?

Please post only one post with your idea, not multiple. Sepsis infection is already in the mod as well as infected survivor camps. Sobaka, TYS
  14. :emptycan: Disagree. Sobaka, TYS Edit: You should play the Mod.
  15. I hope this game doesn't become an MMO. It already has its unique niche in the gaming world and shouldn't try to be something it isn't. Just let it take its own course and everything will be fine. Trust Rocket and the team.. My two cents. Sobaka, TYS

    The Soviet Connection.

Absolutely agree with the author. Although I think the perspective should be on civilian gear. It could work like this: Civilian gear - Common Weapons include hunting rifles, personal defense weapons and small caliber arms. (+ hunting bows ;)) Backpacks include those already coloured ones in the standalone as well as maybe more like you would find in a camping store. Food items include like what is already in the standalone/mod like canned goods, snacks, cereal packets etc. Military gear - Uncommon Weapons include exclusively Russian/Soviet/Chernarussian weapons and ammo (nothing overpowered). Backpacks are exclusively Russian/Soviet/Chernarussian. Food items include things like the MREs in the Mod (food packages/ration packs). Western Mil/Aid gear - Rare Weapons includes "throw-away" weapons that are exclusively Western and can only be found at Helicopter Crash sites or other locations and are often dirty, damaged or low on ammunition. Also includes advanced medical equipment. *Remember this is exclusively western. Ok guys feel free to add onto anything I've said. Just my two cents.. Sobaka, TYS
  17. Hello all. First of all I know there is a humanity imbalance in the game at the moment. This is very prevalent in the Mod. In the Mod one gained skins based off how much humanity one had. You lost humanity if you killed survivors and lost more if you killed a Hero. Eventually you would gain the Bandit skin, becoming recognizable to others as hostile and if people were near you a heartbeat sound played. If you had moderate humanity you had the survivor skin. You gained humanity through helping other players through medical aid and killing Bandits. Eventually you would gain the Hero skin. Heroes also ran faster than Survivors and survivors ran faster than Bandits. Now this wasn't much of a deterrent in the mod, but Rocket and the team are gradually fixing it in the Standalone. Now items have durability and can be damaged, so shooting someone for their loot really isn't the best idea anymore as their gear is often badly damaged when you go to loot them. This has had a profound effect on player interaction. I have watched videos of people holding others up for only one item then scurrying away while they can. There are handcuffs and you can knock people down with your bare hands. There is much more roleplaying and the balance is being restored. Don't forget that banditry is a perfectly legitimate part of the game and I although I play the Hero in game, I personally oppose anyone who tries to remove banditry. Because it adds to the DayZ experience, that is why people play the game, for the adrenaline rush. Do not try to remove or directly attack banditry with some kind of mechanic that restricts them from taking loot. Keep it realistic. It should be a choice for the player to make, and is often situational. "Should I shoot this guy or talk to him?" "If I do shoot him, I run the risk of damaging his gear." "If I talk to him, I have a chance of getting the item I want in pristine condition." Hoik said at the start "...hard and fast rules to "guide" players rather then let them and their (gaming) community decide for themselves what is right and wrong..". He then introduces his own "black/white" rules. My question is.. WHY not let the DayZ community decide what they want to do in the game? That is REAL freedom IMHO. Not some absolutist rules that force players into a category.. "You drink whiskey or you don't." Of course the devs have to keep the balance through innovative mechanics that are still realistic eg. Durability. Just leave it to the devs. Also playing the good guy does have value (trading, blood transfusions etc.) and drinking whiskey if you're a bandit just puts images in my head of the stereotypical bounty-hunter antagonist in a Western movie. My two cents, Sobaka TYS
  18. Hello everyone on the forums, Just a new idea and I would like any input, suggestions or ideas. Also if you are 'high up' and would like to see this idea actually implemented into the mod it would be greatly appreciated if you could contact the current devs on my behalf and let them know. OK now onto my idea.. In one of the recent patches they implemented infected survivor camps into the mod. I was looking at images/videos of the camps and noticed some objects from vanilla ArmA 2 such as the tents, blue water drums etc. I was particularly interested in the tent models. Below is a link to a class object library created by ArmaTechSquad for a better view. The image of interest is the one titled "camp_us1". http://www.armatechsquad.com/ArmA2Class151656165165341654165165165165f/A2/Objects/compositions/ As you can see it looks similar to the infected survivor camps. Now I am suggesting that the current tent model (look at the image "camp_ins1") does not fit the feel of DayZ. It is a camouflage tent and looks very military. I am suggesting that the DayZ Mod Devs change the tent model from "camp_ins1" (camouflage) to the much more appropriate civilian style tent pictured in "camp_us1". They need not change the packed tent if they do not feel the need. I just feel that DayZ is meant to be more about surviving using mostly civilian gear (common) with the occasional discovery of military gear (rare). The drab green camping tent I feel fits this as a much better alternative to the military/camouflage tent. Maybe they could still keep the camouflage tent but make it a rare loot spawn in military areas. I mean its smaller and has camo. My two cents guys, please feel free to let in your ideas and if you can, push this along to someone higher so it may be implemented in the future. Sobaka TYS
  19. Here is a another view of the tent I would like to replace the current one in DayZ Mod.

Random ideas from a VERY tired mind.

Hey on your last point on Medical Overhaul you said "..Possibly things that require a second person to be done." If they were to add something like that they should also provide an alternative to solo players, for example in the Mod one needed another person to perform a blood transfusion, which was a relatively quick process for restoring blood levels. But if you were a solo player and couldn't gain access to another player with a blood bag you had to take the much longer process of hunting animals, gutting them, chopping wood and cooking them over a fire. If you couldn't do this (no hunting knife, matches etc) you had to find lots of cans and food and stuff your face. My point is if a 'two-person job' is added there must be a solo alternative, whether it be a longer process or have some kind of shortcoming. My two cents, Sobaka TYS
