The server will be locked and unlocked every day. Go and speak to the BTB guys Lofty who was just on our server, go and ask him what happened when we let all 50 players on at the same time and everyone started spamming the server chat with how they were stuck on waiting for server response. Getting bored of this now TBH. The server is only ever populated with random people. There is no possible way to pre select who gets in, we unlock it, 10 random people mash enter within a second and our chat box fills up, we lock it again, wait a while, unlock it again, let more in, lock it again. And so on and so forth. Butt hurt trolls who didn't get in in time are no longer going to be replied to by me. We throttle connections to stop the DB being overloaded which we can see, and you can not. There are plenty of people who can tell you about the problems that you get if you allow 50 players to join at the same time, since our server seems to be incredibly popular. We made a Reddit thread and received over 60,000 clicks in a few hours. The server cannot handle how fast it fills up. Salvaging and finding gear would be a lot harder than you make out since we have no control of who gets into the server and don't know where anyone is. The whining is just that. Whining. I mean ffs, we find, repair and fly off a heli in the middle of one of the most contested towns in the game on a full server having to kill people who were coming over to us whilst 2 of us were fixing it, and we get threads being started saying we're cheating. Okay then. Lol. Would have been easier to crash the server, restart it with a PW, fix the chopper, fly it off, restart server again and then tell people we were just experiencing problems no? But I guess that doesn't fit in with the trolls agendas.

I get your concerns Cardiac, some people just do not think properly. They see a server that is locked, with 6 - 10 people on it, and they automatically think the server is passworded, which it is not, with a selected group of players on it farming gear, which it is not. All that's happened is that the first 10 who mashed their keys the fastest got in before it was relocked. -

You're the one who doesn't get it. There is nothing detrimental being done here. As we've just shown, allowing everyone in at the same time is what is detrimental. -

To further proove we are right, we've just restarted the server after noticing HIVE bugged, we let everybody on, then we get spammed with 'omg I'm waiting on server response, anybody else?' over and over and over again. Speak to the BTB guys if you want confirmation that this just happened. -

Cardiac, that is exactly what happens. The server is unlocked, people connect, the server is relocked again. There is no way to choose who enters. That's why the people whining are none sensical. Even when locked, we have the screen being spammed by people trying to get in. Then we unlock it, then we get notice of about 10 people joining at once, then we relock it. If it is locked, there is no password. You cannot lock and unlock with a password. If you password it, you need to restart the server without a password before people can join again which obviously kicks everyone from the server. So the server just gets locked, without a password, nobody can connect, then it's unlocked and we get 10 random people who were previously spamming join connect, then it gets locked again. Other people don't throttle their connections, and they get whining that people are stuck for 15 minutes on waiting for server response. We can see the database live and see the traffic incoming. We had issues the other day where the server crashed 3 times in 2 hours with 'No message received for X seconds' which is why we started doing it. The players who get in are not 'let in' we have people on TS screaming LET ME INNNNNN because we lock them out as well. -

Ahhhh people moaning about something they know nothing about... You probably weren't there when we airlifted the third chopper we have from the roof in Cherno after the server was full and a guy typed 'there's a chopper on the hospital roof in Cherno' So we took both choppers over, dropped 2 guys off, went over to find it needed repairing completely, flew the choppers off to find parts whilst me and Pope sat on top of the hospital whilst the whole server knew where we were, popped 2 bandits that came to kill us, left the roof ourselves to explore the warehouse right next to us, came back, fixed the chopper, refuelled it and flew it off. On a full server. So yeah, carry on putting 2 and 2 together and getting 65. Those who play on our servers regularly thank us for throttling connections, allow 6-10 in, let them all load into the game, give it a few minutes, let another 6-10 in etc until we are full. So we will listen to the people that play on our servers, than some people on a forum who have no idea what they are talking about and rage. The alternative is to let all 45 in at the same time, and have nobody able to play all stuck on Waiting for server response. Then guess what happens? Moar whine!!! 'Omg everyone stuck on server response?' 'Anyone else stuck on server response?' 'Anyone else stuck on server response?' 'Anyone in yet?' 'I know that like 50 people have typed this alread ybut for no reason whatsoever I'm also going to ask, anyone else stuck on server response?' -

The issue though Alex is that the more players, the more servers, the more servers, the bigger DB strain, the more lag, the longer wait times to get into servers, etc etc etc. Multiplay have already popped up a feck tonne of servers as it is. The more that get on board is bad for the alpha. It's an alpha, it's not a game. Alpha/beta is usually closed to allow a certain number in so that everybody doesn't connect. This is an alpha that's starting to act like a release, and I don't think it will be able to handle it. If it can then great, but I don't think it can. And we can't alpha test a game we can't play.

So TerminalVelocity is on our server for a while, having a laugh with us etc. Not sure if it was the real one or not. His name was spelt funny, Vel0city rather than Velocity etc. [DAYZ] tags. We're trying to refuel our chopper, someone takes a pop at us so we regroup and come back. We shoot about and we see at the bottom... TerminalVelocity was killed. So I climb the ladder aware that he has a friend in there with him, all of a sudden there's a guy top of the ladder (NE airfield) so the chopper gunner kills him... up comes TerminalVelocity was killed. A second time, in 120 seconds. He respawned at the NE airfield a minute after dying, with a silenced M4, NVGs, range finder, silenced M9 etc. I get his gear and go down stairs to find his mate. His mate runs up and one shots me with a pistol. I'm unconscious, he doesn't finish the job, I come back from unconsciousness and put 7 shots into him from less than a metre. Nothing. He turns and shoots me dead again. Now he's respawned himself back at the airfield with silenced weapons, and he nuked our chopper down to red everything. Can someone look into this please. It's BS. His mates name IIRC was maste.

If it was, then that's fine. I just thought I had to check. It was extremely annoying and I couldn't figure out why a non dev could take 7 shots from 30cm from a silenced m4 with the acog up and over his body. By god I hate hackers.

Poppa chopper has forgiven Momma chopper' date=' and they decided to try again. They've given birth to a healthy baby chopper. The bastard jeep child has been shunted away. [img']http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/3448/armada.jpg Special props to the guy in Cherno who shouted 'there's a chopper spawned here on the roof in Cherno!!!' whilst we were flying about.

We tried breeding choppers... and it gave birth to a jeep. Poppa chopper is extremely suspicious.

Rocket can I get clarification on something, yesterday one of our group killed a player and looted from him a silenced Makarov, and a camouflaged silenced M4 with an underslung grenade launcher and a holographic sight, and 4 M203 HE grenades, rather than smoke. Can you confirm whether these can actually be found and used, or whether they would have been spawned in and he needs to get rid? Don't want him to get banned for something he looted. We reckon he was spawning his own stuff since he also had a radio and a big coyote bag and was stood in the middle of Cherno. Thanks.

We had a Huey, a motorbike, a boat and a pickup truck. Found 2x quad bikes but didn't have all the wheels we needed to fix them.

I can also attest to the gear menu on the crashed Huey's being a lie. :( Uber loot indeed. Circled it for about 20 minutes 3 of us and couldn't find any option other than get in, and save. -
FR1 borked, again. No zombies, nothing spawning. Can't pick anything up off animals gutted.
