    EU 40 - "faggot"

So one minute it was a serious thing' date=' and the next minute it was just a joke? Wind your neck in Kransthow, stop contradicting yourself. Considering that Rocket said himself that one of the only 2 reasons you may kick or ban someone from your server is malicious language' date=' it's safe to say that he regards malicious language as unacceptable. So to put it in the reason for the kick, is a.) immature because it just isn't needed, you can ban someone without having to make a point of being a tosser about it, and b.) against what Rocket has outlined as acceptable. [/quote'] I think you are misreading what Rocket said. It is allowed to kick or ban someone from your server for malicious language. That does not mean you are required to ban/kick them from your server, it just means that you have the option to if you feel it is disruptive. No, sorry I think you misunderstood my post. My post was meant to say, that malicious language is a kick/bannable offense, therefore it's unacceptable. If it it's acceptable then you wouldn't be able to kick or ban for it. Since what's acceptable is acceptable. Therefore since it's deemed unacceptable, to do the same in your retort, is also unacceptable. There's a level of maturity that server owners need to adhere to. So what he was acting like an arsehole, ban him without a message and that's that. That's what we and most others do on our/their servers.

Ah, the fallback on the fact that the word also means something else, because that mod totally banned someone for being a bundle of sticks. Grow up, it's painfully obvious how it was meant. You've all been childish in here representing your server, when any mature admin would have dealt with it properly, rather than coming here determined to shoot someone down with scorn and insults.

    Two primarys or one?

I use a M4 CCO SD and a DMR with a M9SD. Once you pick up the big cayote bag off a bandit space isn't so much of an issue. Since I play in a group and we have tent bases with food in, I only need to carry about 2 food, 2 drink, a blood bag and 1 morphine/2 painkillers plus 3-4 mags for each gun.

(Repost) Best loot you ever had?

Edited for size, found this off road on our server near Devils Castle. Took it back to our own base camp before taking this screenshot of the stash inside it.

    Non-lethal weapons and traps.

Can you imagine the rage as someone incaps you, cuffs you and then you sit there watching as they loot your silenced guns and beans right in front of your face.

    NVGs

No we don't. That's a horrifically silly exaggeration. I can't believe this old chestnut is coming up again after having many people who play on our server with us come and tell you that you're talking rubbish.
  8. And that's why you're here. Not to have fun and play the game, but to alpha test a mod that needs work doing to it. So that some of the things on that list can be changed and implemented. Night time isn't one of them, as it's intended.
  9. Yes. Obviously. In the same way that someone with a gun has a bigger advantage than someone without one. It's common sense. This mod is supposed to be very very hard. It's what the owner of the mod is trying to make it. If that's not for you' date=' then it's not for you. Why carry on with something that's designed to be something you hate. Realism is a part of the vision of the creator. It's what he wants it to be. People that turn their nose up at realism shouldn't be playing games that are designed with ultra realism in mind. It's that simple. The reason people say 'go back to X' is because that game caters for what you seem to want. Where as this game does not, rather than change a game away from what it wants to be that suits you, instead play a game that does suit you.
  10. Because the mod is fucking awesome.

    Selectable Spawn Points

One of the spawn points is quite far up north. So I'll say again. I don't want people picking their spawn points to get closer to me. Random is good. Alone and random is good. You have to meet your friends, you're right into the middle of a brutal unforgiving mod, the way it should be. Choosing your spawn point eliminates some of the beauty of the mod, which is getting your bearings, trying to work out where you are while at the same time keeping an eye out for people. If you're not where you want to be, you have to make your way there. Imagine someone has a base camp above NW airfield. Pick to spawn at Kamenka, run straight up. No opposition, easy mode. At least in Elektro, you have to navigate there through danger.

    Selectable Spawn Points

No. I made my base where it is because it takes ages to get there. I don't want to kill someone there, only for them to respawn there. Part of the fun of the game is having to be cautious because of time invested. If you can pick your spawn point you'll get idiots running round everywhere just Call of Duty with 0 regard for anything because if they die, meh. They'll just respawn there again. At least they have to think about what they're doing when they get to somewhere on the map rather than going all the way back to the coast. They fear going back to the coast, and so they should.

    that feeling you get....

Looting the apartments in Berezino and finding 3 camping tents. One in each.
  14. Does adding someone on Steam pop a window up in his game? If so I'm going to do something. I haven't done this sin to confess yet but I'm confessing to trying to sin later on. I'll find a player, sneak up on him, roll over to find his name, shift tab to steam and add him, see if the name matches. If it does and he accepts it, I'll send him a chat message saying hi, if he replies I'll send another saying 'look behind you' Then when he turns around, I'll shoot. And steal his beans.

    Player kill registration removal

Is it independant from 'player disconnected' messages? Because it would be awful having to lose sight of who just disconnected after being shot, to gain this added realism of not knowing when someone has died.

    Ingame voice

Talking in any channel other than Direct will annoy players because the whole map can hear you. Direct chat will be great when it works. It currently AFAIK works on and off. Works sometimes, doesn't work other times but only players in your immediate area can hear you then. I'd love it if everybody talked in Direct because then as soon as I hear a voice I know that there is someone near. What's annoying is that Global and Direct share the same colour, so I'd like all others but Direct removed because a.) nobody uses them anyway and b.) then I know there is someone nearby and it's not someone broadcasting over Global.

    Strongholds

Yeah we started to do this, we put down barbed wire, tank traps all around our camp, started sandbagging the inside of the barbed wire, making a proper base with a disguised entrance with a very slight gap between some barbed wire which only we knew about to get in/out then we realised how pointless it is. It's in a place that zombies can't get to anyway because they don't roam where it is, and players that stumble upon it will just log off, into a different server, walk forward 10 feet then log out and back onto your server. Bingo they're inside the walls. It's a shame because it could be a class feature. Especially if two factions go to war raiding each others bases and having firefights there, trying to find a way in etc.
  18. It sounds proper boring, having a lookout who could stand there for about 5 hours where nobody else cares or somes near and essentially you just waste time there. However, planning this as an actual event, where people try to get onto a low pop server just to do this would be great. Then you've got interest and you know that an attack is coming you just don't know when. You could have a massive firefight.

    MERGED: Everything poop and pee

This would be hilarious. Someone taking a shit in the outhouse? Open the door and kill him on the toilet. Preferably with a crossbow. Tyrion style.
  20. I killed an AFK guy once, he came back and said 'thanks faggot, I was on the toilet' I'm sorry. How rude of me, I should have known. I'll ask every prone person lay in my sniping spot in future if they are on the toilet before I shoot them.

    SQL Errors

Yep, that's basically exactly what I mean. Every chatty little statement hive or hiveauth generates is dumped to a text file. If it's a concern of tracking players, I can already watch things like the class names of their inventory show up in hive. Trust me, if I wanted to monitor particular players, I would first need to divine who they are, and even then it's much more useful (cheating-wise) to do it in real-time than through a log from several hours ago. If it's a space concern, if you're the kind of host that likes to obsessively log things, you're the kind of host that can ren incremental log files and del the oldest ones through batch scripting. I like to know what goes into and out of the expensive stuff I'm legally and financially responsible for, and maintain it at its highest possible operating capacity, either through active intervention or regular feedback to the application developers. That's just ol' control-freak me. Yeah, I get what you mean. It just would be a nono for me. Hive logs everything but it scrolls quite fast so you can miss a lot of stuff. When someone interacts with a vehicle for example and saves it it gives the map co-ordinates. Now just imagine abusing admins with the log file seeing where the jeeps and hueys are and heading over to steal them. Or noting there was a silenced weapon put into a tent at X Y and heads over to find a base camp with 5 tents full of stuff. I know it happens in Hive already, but at least you can miss it if you're not looking at Hive constantly. Giving someone the whole log with everything in it would spoil some servers no doubt.
