Yeah the zombies aggro from miles away. I don't mind it to be honest, although I just encountered a bug where I killed a guy who was at the Stary Sobor military camp, I watched him through binos run back to a barn about 4 times to kill zombies who he drew aggro from from miles around, when I killed him and got to his corpse about 10 seconds later it had fallen through the floor. Flies buzzing all around but no corpse.

I'm not, I'm against it, there's a server admin in the server section saying that until Rocket tells him personally to stop, he's going to continue doing it. Despite Rocket already saying 'you may only ban someone for malicious talk or racism' he's decided it doesn't apply to him until Rocket speaks to him directly. Apparently he's above being addressed at the same time as everybody else. If this is the case, I'm trying to get clarification.

Rocket, can you confirm if we can ban people from servers for disconnecting to avoid dying?

Uh. lol It IS my server. I administrate my BOX....I maintain the updates. It's my server. As such, I will ban people for using a KNOWN exploit. What is so hard to understand here? What is so hard to understand, is why you insist that the owner of the mod must speak to you personally before you adhere to something he's made quite clear to all server admins. We read it in his thread addressing all server admins. I'm not sure why you think you're so important that you can disregard what he's said, and do as you please until he comes to you in person to repeat what he's already said. Why do you think that you're so special, you deserve a personal address from him, when he's already addressed all of us? The hardware may be your property, but the DayZ server you are bound by rules. You cannot do what you like, because it's your server. We've had this argument with rocket multiple times, but we just can't do it. You donate your server out of the goodness of your hearts so that DayZ may be tested in alpha. We can't kick for reasons we would like to, even though we own the server. The 'exploit' has been fixed anyway, in the form of persistant bodies after log out. So it's no longer considered an 'exploit' because rocket has put into the game a fix to what he considered an exploit. For you to continue kicking for it, is as much against the rules as it was when he posted 'you can only ban for these two reasons' which you have decided to ignore anyway. His post doesn't say 'you can ban for whatever you want until I drop what I'm doing to come to you and tell you personally, which would take forever because there's hundreds of servers' It says 'you may only ban for these 2 reasons, malicious talk and racism' What's so hard to understand about that?

If this hasn't already been answered in the 10 pages I can't read properly since I'm at work, can I just clarify vehicles are going to respawn once on server restart, or every time a server restarts?

Server admins saying they only answer to devs, when devs have already answered. So why are you ignoring it? Why does a dev need to come and repeat to you what has already been said, that you are duty bound to read and abide by?

Rocket removed all thermal scopes from the game because they are OP. It's not allowed. It's hacked in. You can get AS50s but not with thermal scopes.

I think 50 is perfect. Zombie survival films never have a person every 100 yards. I like being able to run for 10 minutes without seeing anyone. Base camps would just become pointless when there are 6x the amount of players on and someone stumbles on it every 5 minutes.

That does not mean you are required to ban/kick them from your server, it just means that you have the option to if you feel it is disruptive. No, sorry I think you misunderstood my post. My post was meant to say, that malicious language is a kick/bannable offense, therefore it's unacceptable. If it it's acceptable then you wouldn't be able to kick or ban for it. Since what's acceptable is acceptable. Therefore since it's deemed unacceptable, to do the same in your retort, is also unacceptable. There's a level of maturity that server owners need to adhere to.
