Burnout would be my thought on this, just total burnout... I've been on long projects, start up projects, etc. and sometimes you just have nothing left in the tank and need something new to get the juices flowing again. My opinion of course. ~snip~
-
Results can be brutal! Be wary of similar public server hosts, those that host groups of severs are likely to configure them the same, often resulting in similar behavior. I logged in this morning to find my significant OCD stash missing, across three servers. Locations were broadly spread out and too many of them for anything but the bite of persistence variability. On my fourth favorite server, items have remained for well over a week, which btw I was forced to check after my wtf moment on the others.

Picked up this on Twitter today. Has me curious... Apologies if it was already posted.

Is it worth buying Dayz standalone yet? [With Developer responses]
Super_Duty replied to Blade4777980's topic in General Discussion
I have a few hours in-game now and find the development cycle to be refreshing and engaging as things progress with each subsequent build. I also follow the devs. wip comments and have a good idea what the development team is working to deliver. Ymmv, but I've had a lot of fun, spent a ton of time and can take a break then come back to something fresh. There are many details and things to do that are not widely known, each time I play. I find or figure out something new... -
Funny to me, I'm red-green color blind and could give a rip. Not taking issue with your post by any means, color is very important. I just can't see it... :(
-
Yep, sometimes I just walk away and play something else for a while, sometimes a month. Stay off the forums and what for updates on Steam then start all over again. All is fresh, good to go...
-
Funny, pitchforks all over the place for me... Green rain coat, yes, yellow, no. I did find a .357 loader on top of one of those armoire's you see everywhere but for some reason I could not take it. Empty inventory slot and all, and I tried for a while...
-
Well, yes in deed, after what that bull did to me...horny bastard.
-
As promised... Bull's! Also, Gorka E Military Helmet and for good measure a shot of the party pit. Just need some pristine hoe's, lap dances for cans of beans? I dunno...
-
I have a couple pics of Bull's from game play over the weekend. Will post later.

I've literally spent DayZ looking for one to cut down a shotty, gave up and ended up dumping the shotty in the woods. They are around, just incredibly difficult to locate, especially when you're actively looking for one. Though this seems to apply to several other in-game items as well.

I'm curious to know what your definition of "a quality gaming experience" is?... This would help in providing some sort of guidance. What do you generally lean towards, Loot, PVP, PVE story depth, character building, etc...

Any option to not lose everything every few minutes?
Super_Duty replied to Tourist (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
Think of it as more of a challenge than a game and you might have better luck. Survival 101 you might say. There are bugs you will have to deal with however, it is still in early access. Someone posted about watching a few videos or a twitch feed. This would be helpful. There are also beginners threads posted here on the forum. Check out a couple of these... http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154039-beginners-guide/ http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/159251-merinos-in-depth-video-guides-feb-11th-updated-to-034115106-new-status-indicators-rebalancing-of-hunger-thirst-stomach-blood-and-health-reg/ http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154725-index-of-all-the-helpful-threads-you-need-to-read/ -
The Red "X" servers are not the correct version for Exp. Those are the previous build. You want the Green servers, however, most of them, if not all at the moment are broken and will not let you join.

You probably want to post this in the DayZ Mod area of this forum. Not sure if the DayZ Stand-Alone folks here will have as much insight. If you purchased on Steam, I'd suggest right clicking on the game in your Steam Library and click on properties, then select verify game cache. This will at least tell you that your files are intact.

I've had this happen several times since the last couple of updates where a town appears to be quiet, you enter cautiously of course, only to be swarmed by 5 or 6 Zed's/Infected coming from all directions. If you're a fresh spawn looking for a melee weapon, I've found that it's often better to run circles around and throughout a town to keep distance from the Zed's while at the same time peering into garages and other open structures for a weapon as you run by them. Then circle back if you do find something, pick it up, and run away until you can compose yourself. You can punch Zed's of course, but that becomes difficult if there are several of them when you're not healthy yet and you've already used your shirt as rags and find yourself bleeding out.

I will not reply, I will not reply, I will not reply....phuck it, you sir, are...never mind, phuck that too. OP, the next time you have a thought...let it go. As stated, you were given numerous opportunities to self-educate before embarking on this journey. And I'm damn sure that your "old man" would bitch slap you for forming such a conclusion at this stage of game development with said fore-warnings provided in advance. If you have nothing positive to contribute, you do no good here.

Status Report - Week of 25 August 14
Super_Duty replied to DemonGroover's topic in News & Announcements
It has been stated previously, numerous times, that the Dev's will not comment on what actions are being taken to reduce and/or eliminate said hacks. Not quite sure why you continue to press the subject when said information could circumvent the protocols that are to be reinforced. Move on already! -
what's your favorite backpack to use?
Super_Duty replied to TheMaxedout's topic in General Discussion
Preference is the hunter's backpack for stealth and the above mentioned ability to look over the shoulder. Still looking for a SMERSH vest to see how the SMERSH backpacks look attached however. -
Don't forget the ballistic jock strap and Kevlar cup for added protection to ward off those hoppers...although, at the moment, those items are ultra rare in the latest build. Else you can put that bible in your pants!
-
I personally never stop playing due to wipes. Playing on Exp. it's part of the journey, not the end but rather a new beginning. I do however look for the DayZ where there are a little more trinkets for those that love to explore, in detail...
-
I wish it were that simple my friend. I'm a garage whore, and since the last two updates, hacksaws have been incredibly difficult to locate. I've been looking for one for a week to cut down a shotty and it has been quite frustrating. I've checked them all, over and over, even the mega multiple garage units across the map. Steel buildings (upper and lower), barns (large and small) even with inventory up scanning for those that sometimes sit within/below the floor. The rarity is pretty much right up there with finding a can opener at the moment. imho of course.
