It's a bug, saw something similar yesterday but with orange kiddie backpacks. 4 of them all close to one another, each containing the same gear, rags and a screwdriver. My assumption is that they duped on server restart.

Not only RainbowZ,.. but also notice 64 player slots...
-
RAINBOWZ!!! I fricken can't wait for rainbows...maybe they will all lead to helo crash sites! Let the chanting begin....0.49, 0.49, 0.49...

I had a nice little collection of tents going. I had not visited them in a couple days or so, I was too busy checking out the new areas, looking for new gear, etc. When I went back, there was a serious bug with item duplication/replication. Cool at first, but globally on the server it must have had a enormous impact on the overall economy and game performance. I happened to have had 1 tent in my pack at the time, I set it up, but my guess based on this thread that it may very well be gone too. Oh well, back at it!

Ammo Box rarer then unicorns?(the storage box)
Super_Duty replied to Happy-'s topic in General Discussion
I also found a bandana in 0.48, only one though and no ammo box, also no damn can openers!!! Where did all the can openers go! -
trust person was kill me and my frend
Super_Duty replied to Shrub Rocketeer ™'s topic in General Discussion
Don't get discouraged Shrub... many friends here to help out. Any chance you recall the guy/gals tag/name? Server, etc.? I like to keep a short list...for possible future engagement. ;) -
Police cars, based on the change log are apparently bugged or they have really good camo effect that makes them invisible. As for the 7.62x39mm ammo, I think I have all available rounds piled up under a tree. But seriously, look for AKM mags and unload them.

What is it that makes the fps so bad? Engine? DX9?
Super_Duty replied to Halven (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
You can throw as much money at hardware all you like and performance is unlikely to change much at this stage. I'm an eye candy freak, in all the games I play, and there are game engines out there that are just cpu cycle whores. This engine one falls into that category. I, like others are running a 3570K at 4.4 +/- liquid cooled. I have dual R290x's that are basically at idle most of the time (i know, crossfire is a problem with this engine) and 16gb ram, because it was on sale. I also have a later generation SSD. Shadows are a big culprit, but also a necessary piece of information for this particular game. Although the upper limit on shadow settings are really distracting. 18 FPS, in Cherno (Fraps) is tough to manage with Zed's/Infected trying to take your head off. -
Well just like a horse, nothing good comes from riding them hard and putting them away wet. We already have the notifications of being damp thru being soaked. Logic suggests there will be penalties... More survival, yes please.

Broke Leg with alot of Ammo and stuff if wanted
Super_Duty replied to EvilSnipa's topic in General Discussion
Well no wonder you broke your legs...the ammo weight itself could have cause you to break your legs, fall or not. -
Zombies are weak, they need to be stronger...
Super_Duty replied to battlerhd's topic in General Discussion
Oh bummer, my apologies then. I'm aware that the reference to the alpha and the omega meant the beginning and the end. But apparently, I made an unjust assumption that Z had something to do with Zombies. My Bad! -
Zombies are weak, they need to be stronger...
Super_Duty replied to battlerhd's topic in General Discussion
Some of these posts and points of view are quite disturbing. Isn't the Z in DAYZ meant to mean Zombie, or Zed's? What the hell is the point of a Zombie apocalypse without Zed's? Are you out of your frickin skull's man? In 0.48, two body shots and if you are lucky, 1 head shot with a Marakov with take down a Zed. Melee, on a military Zed takes two hits with a fire a axe, regular Zed's is still one hit. Melee, which may appear to be broken based on popular opinion, is not all that bad as a placeholder, if you remembered or thought to read the notes that you will hit where your cursor is pointed. There's a minor adjustment for lag or ping, but it's not a big deal. If you are being attacked by aggro Zed's, back off a bit, let the first one run by you, strafe left, hit the late follower in the back of the head, adjust and take out the lead. It is not difficult! Hoppers are a pain the in ass, but more so because of their stealth, which btw I appreciate. Those little bitches are a great add to the game and I hope to see more variations of them. Don't get me wrong, I've been bitch-slapped many times and have had gear repeatedly ruined by encounters with them. The last thing I want to see is that they do not become more of a threat. They should always be a threat and that threat should force a player to reconsider their decisions. Give me Imperial Storm Trooper Zed's at the military installations. Camp or server hop at your own risk, there should be a 90% chance that you will get your ass kicked in those areas. -
The two most recent memorable's...night server, pitch black out, on the 3rd floor at a construction site. Thought I was in the stairwell and proceeded to fall off the side of the building. The other was when I was screwing around on some scaffolding and thought I could access the roof of the building. I stepped up on said roof and thought, wow this is cool, only to slowly slide down and plummet off the edge. Yep, I'm a member of the dumb-ass club.

City dwellers will perish, only those strong, healthy and prepared will survive
Super_Duty posted a topic in General Discussion
The location below should be known to some of you. I've dropped the first can of beans, some cooking props, can opener, chem light, wood, sticks and rags in this location. My challenge to those of you who persevere over great distances and survived the horrors of the cities, but find calm in the wilderness seek this refuge and contribute to the greater cause. Bring your extra gear deep into the woods, maybe some water, or a tent, animal meat, what ever you have to share with the collective. In time, we will move ourselves to a more obscure location once we have the proper numbers to do so. Head to the AU/NZ 04 HC server, there you will find the path. -

I second that! Please sort by loot type, clothing, footwear, backpacks, food, etc. Then by color, some of us are very particular about our bling. It would also be helpful to arrange in rows by loot type and usage, maybe even status of quality such as pristine, worn, damaged...you get the point. No more of this garbage pile of crap tossed into an abyss of crap. Though I will say, that with the latest patch, that the detail of the garbage piles are looking very fine. Or, I just missed when they updated the model. So please show some respect. You've taken so much time so display your wares/technical ability, please take a moment to display them properly. -
So with most of the Exp. servers being full, I decided to do a little sight seeing...My apologies if these should be in the gallery, kind of quiet here today. Using uber stealth mode, I was able to capture this... Stopped in to pray for the Exp. server's to be fixed... Was going to fish but realized I didn't have the proper gear... Again, uber stealth mode... For when dirt bikes get added... Yep, you guessed it, too many beans... All is quiet...

Similar issue yesterday on Exp. server after latest update. All players were wiped, not a big deal imho, others will disagree. Spawned in a small town, name unknown, probably 4 minutes ahead of this other bambi/punk. I had already found an axe and some better clothing, etc. This bambi immediately puts up fists and runs towards me. I side step him and then make some distance between us then hit the mic and suggest that he chill out. He then flips me off, and up come the fists again. I again side step him as he runs by, my arms are still at there sides showing no agression and hit the mic again. Finally he gets the hint and moves on. Damn newb's.

Seriously, they "just started working on vehicles" ?
Super_Duty replied to Walker Tall's topic in General Discussion
Moped's... that's the extent of the vehicles imho that belong in this game. Loud, stinky, prone to breaking down...just saying. -
Poll - Why aren't people playing hardcore mode
Super_Duty replied to TimF's topic in General Discussion
For me it's simple, if the game is 1st person I will play it, if it's 3rd person I will not. This applies to all PC games. -
Let me guess... Myers-Briggs personality type INJT ? I can relate to everything you've said and share the same personal feelings of the human population in general. I run lone-wolf 99.99% of the time, though every once in a while, I'll come across a fellow lone-wolf player and run for a while with them. Regarding maturity, I have children that are 30. Is a 50+ year old that plays video games mature? As mentioned, maturity level does not correlate to a specific age but rather is an equation of life experience and how one applies what they have learned. Similarly, I've played in clans in years past and have even admin'd servers for various games mostly to keep order and monitor for hacks of which ruin the game experience. I very much enjoy SA, development issues and all. I enjoy the sandbox open world games, but give me a good single player FPS with a decent backstory anyday.

Can someone verify this issue I've come across. With experimental build 0.37.115791 playing hard=core if it matters, the weapons flashlights (pistol and M4) will not activate once they are attached to the weapon. When you attempt to turn on, you see "turn on" as an option, but not "turn off". If you separate/remove the flashlight attachment from the weapon and place it in your inventory, you can then turn it on or then off. However, there is no light projected in either case. The head mounted light/torch and the hand held flashlight work fine. I've reported the issue btw.

crashing, cant open doors, pick up items, put weapon in hands, etc
Super_Duty replied to EaglePowrs}}'s topic in General Discussion
Apparently Darien, not only are you ignorant, but you're incapable of acknowledging the fact that you have no clue as to what the impact of your so called "help" is. Upon entering the video config settings, you circumvent the post processing effects of this game thus nullifying the only input the player has that would provide some indication of their health status. This is a serious omission in that it provides a false sense of security when it's quite the opposite. Since you're a DayZ YouTube expert, might I suggest you take a moment to educate yourself with the following... Merino's video depicting the brink of death and back provides an excellent overview of the post processing effect in 4 minutes and 59 seconds - If you want to learn the fundamentals and have some time to kill... http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/159251-merinos-in-depth-video-guides-feb-11th-updated-to-034115106-new-status-indicators-rebalancing-of-hunger-thirst-stomach-blood-and-health-reg/ These are pinned in the newbie section on this forum. -
No need for name calling... looks like you just to need pack up the computer and drive North a bit. Or, Better yet, contact your Ambassador of S. America and plead for a dialogue with Bohemia Interactive to host a server in your native country? Looks like you're mostly off the grid...though closer to Australia than most? Oh btw, you didn't mention in your original post that lag was an issue. Sorry that I was unable to pick up on that telepathically...

People shooting automatic Mosins on public Servers
Super_Duty replied to Colemanw26's topic in General Discussion
Not too long ago I wanted to know it ALL, and was damn proud of it. Now as I get a bit older I find the less I know the better off I am... -
Dev Tracker, Reddit redirect... in case you missed it from earlier today. I see a lot of bickering back and forth in this thread, so I thought I might try and lend a hand into understanding what to expect. Right now, for those of you whom have DayZ on Steam - you are participating in a public facing test of a title in very early development. What this means for you, is a good deal of frustration at times. I'd like to think currently DayZ has much more to offer from a gameplay experience perspective than it did when the Early Access offering was first available. However, as I said earlier - things are going to break, design is going to change and adapt, and sometimes (just like the disclaimer says at startup) you may find features not operating as expected, content incomplete, or areas of the title just plain broken. Ideally, we try and minimize any issues like this - which is the primary leading factor in the update on Friday going to Experimental branch, rather than stable. Moving forward over the rest of this year you will see the DayZ team focusing on the addition of core features to the title. When we release our anticipated road map of these core features, you will have a bit more transparency into the intended duration of prototyping, implementing, iterating, and so on. Completion of the Alpha "milestone" as it were, and moving into the Beta phase of the title will mean that the core features of DayZ have been implemented, and the team will begin to focus on enriching the content around these feature sets. Simultaneously, you will see the team begin to focus on bug fix as the title move towards its "Release Candidate" phase, which you will more than likely see occur in the final months of DayZ Early Access's beta. I'm sure this is tldr for many people, but the bullet point of what I'm trying to get across is as follows: DayZ Early Access Alpha: Feature development, during which the vast majority of major bugs are created/occur.DayZ Early Access Beta: Content development, during which the "meat on the bones" is added to the title, alongside the beginnings of major bug fixing surrounding issues created during the feature development of alpha.DayZ Early Access RC (Final Beta stages): Bug Fix, optimization, and balancing. During which the stone is polished, until the DayZ dev team feels the title is ready to go live. The important thing to take away from this is, even though we're in the phase where the majority of major issues are discovered or created, we're very aware of the problems. We read twitter, reddit, the forums and so on - and we do try and dedicate as much time as we can into ensuring the stable branch of DayZ Early Access Alpha is as fluid and enjoyable a play experience as possible. For me, as an individual - I hate seeing people exploit the wall glitching - and can't wait for us to have a fix for this onto the stable branch.
