I can give you 12 hours tomorrow, it's Friday night and the miss's has other plans ;) "You All"? Think you've been visiting the states too much...lmao!

I know where that is too... pretty sure my last exp. camp was in the same location. Now off to find that server, heh. 59, 58, 57, 56........

Crash sites are one of my favorite things to stumble across, or look for. Sometimes rewarding, many times not. But never the less, hairs stand up when I come across one.
-
Sorry for my opinion, but seriously, do you, and everyone else complaining expect that a crash site is going to be virgin at the point when you happen to arrive?
-
Exactly! That and the persistence issue on stable related to the hosting services sucked the life out of me for the time being...
-
I have/had most all of them inside one barrel or another at one point or another in .58. Frying pans, gas cans, etc. just not the cooking pot of course.

Are weapons with attachments considered containers by definition...?
-
Still not convinced it's that simple. I have (had anyways) multiple barrels with several backpacks in the same 20 meter radius and did not experience the issue even with multiple mags, ammo boxes, loose ammo and even yellow plastic cases filled inside barrels. Something sets it off, but I'm not exactly sure what the root cause is. Curious to see what the devs. have come up with. I think we need an 8D or 14D...

I've come to the conclusion that politicians only work weekends based on the amount of output, or lack thereof...

Burnout would be my thought on this, just total burnout... I've been on long projects, start up projects, etc. and sometimes you just have nothing left in the tank and need something new to get the juices flowing again. My opinion of course. ~snip~

Regarding persistence, public servers specifically, what has the forum members been experiencing regarding persistence, any specific theories? I replied to a post in the General forum, but thought I'd ask this here. In reading the various threads on this and from my personal experience, it's all over the map. Background: I logged in this morning to find my significant OCD stash missing, across three servers. Locations were broadly spread out and too many of them for anything but the bite of persistence variability. On my fourth favorite server, on the other side of the planet, items have remained for well over a week, including a backpack, which btw, I was forced to check after my wtf moment on the three others, which share the same hosting service. For what it's worth, I had the day off yesterday and spent it grinding out a number of small stashes, barrel, backpack, rinse and repeat...then move on to another location. Many items, articles of clothing, vests, hats, loose and boxed ammo all appeared to clean up in 30 minutes or so. Weapons, magazines, clips, remained for the most part from my experienced. Several of the barrels had been in location for a couple days. Each barrel had been touched in the previous 24 hours. I experienced one item just vanishing which occurred when I swapped out a smersh secondary backpack for a mountain backpack. Though I happened to be on some steps at the time and it could have just falling below and out of reach. Lesson of the day: Be wary of similar public server hosts, those that host groups of severs are likely to configure them the same, often resulting in similar behavior. Think I'm going to change my screen name to "Generally Annoyed TM " .

I'm 1 for 2 at this point, lost my last bout trying to warm by a fire which was opposite of my first successful attempt where I kept moving, sprinting the whole time, trying to keep the core warm. I will not try using a fire again. I dropped dead so fast it wasn't even funny. Need a larger sample size to confirm this however.

As BC stated, it's more dedication in the current format than anything else. The casual player may get frustrated if they are looking for the best gear in short order. Loot is not prevalent, and varies greatly. High value targets can be empty, others may not. Spend an hour crossing the map to find boots and hats can be frustrating. Then again, it really depends on play style. I'll change mine from survivor off the land to rambo just to add some variety. The images below, my stash, took an serious amount if time to collect. Though I do admit to having a bit of an OCD issue, ymmv. I haven't fired a round in weeks btw. Edit: Sorry, I did shoot a tree yesterday to check the M4 bullet spread.

Apologies, just having some fun. No, not a troll, just too many looking for the easy answer.

Why are you giving away this information? What an ass, it's take us long enough to figure this out on our own.
-
From all the Exp. testing done I'm confident that this area now has all the best loot... stay near the beach.

My gut tells me that there's a work stream in place vetting out the entire implementation of the infected overall. What we have been seeing is/was just a placeholder to test path finding, etc. I suspect (my opinion) is that to deliver on the prescribed premise, basically the backbone of this game, a complete overhaul was needed. Optimization of resources to support numbers that significantly impact play style was non existent and to correct this a different approach has to be implemented. As such, why waste resources to keep the early adopters somewhat content...

I'm very curious of the new renderer as well. At the moment I'm running a single R290X, Vsync off, most settings at max, with frame rates in the 90's at times, then in the low 20's in major cities. i5 Intel OC'd to 4.5-ish, SSD and 16gb mem. I happen to have a 2nd duplicate GPU sitting in another rig. that I've been contemplating moving into my primary rig to see what dual GPU performance looks like. Just been too damn lazy...that I haven't checked the technical forum lately to see if crossfire is even supported at this point.

Everyone is in the same boat, raw horsepower is not the issue.

I noobie spawned inside a rock a couple of builds ago on the coast...was like really, wtf. Never did get out.

For the devs... if someone is looking for recommendations on defensive craft-able items. Cooking tri-pod, UMP45, range finder, truck battery and throw in some wire for shits and giggles to craft a turret defense system would be amusing.

Odd... one of my camps, way north, has 3 barrels and a car tent, filled with misc. crap, along with a mountain backpack and I do not have this issue there. Curious if hardware impacts this and to what degree, if any, and if time in game makes a difference. I need to look up what the physical memory allocation is. Anyone recall if DayZ can address greater than 4gb system mem.? I'm also running 4gb video, for those paying attention.

My latest favorite item...some like their M4's but nothing better imho than a pristine... This one has me worried a bit, waiting for the option to "drink all" to see if my nutz glow in the dark...

How many items do you have at your "small" camp. I mean, how many items that need to be rendered? Nails removed from box, etc. I have several locations with a couple barrels of items, mostly large items, taking up many slots, but none the less, full barrels. Trying to figure out the breaking point. The only major issue that I've had with interaction was at of all places NWAF tents. Serious problem with server response to interaction of any kind.
