No worries...I've been working hard getting this thing running to clean up them loot piles for everyone. Might take a bit though, still looking for that stinkin truck battery. Talk about poor timing... Oh and for the record, I need more pockets. Although I've come to the conclusion that it appears that weight may actually play a factor in keeping hydrated. Anyone else think this? Might just be the amount of clothing, dunno.

Didn't see the reddit post... does it run on propane? Something else to use those gas canisters for? Also, I did see the reddit post about a portable radio. Been looking for one of those also, assuming that it is a real thing. Back to mowing...meh.

Ignored all my house chores for the entire day yesterday and just played. Here are some observations... Mission: Primary - Find truck to repair and drive. Secondary - Hunt down heli crash sites. Result: Failure and Success. Summary: Location: Center of reconnaissance was Green Mountain, working a spiral loop out between 5 and 6 grid squares up to Vybor, Myshkino, down to Zelen, West to Pulkvo, then N. East to Stary and back to Vybor. 12 hours, multiple servers, 1PP only. 30 or so infected dispatched, zero humans encountered, zero limbs broken, had to bandage twice as a result of those filthy silent infected being taken down. Overview: I have enough butt in seat time with Dayz that i didn't expect that the end result of not finding a truck battery would be so problematic. Finding trucks, no problem, finding tires, no problem. Fuel/Jerry can, got one. Glow plug, yep found one of those too, but only one. But that damn elusive battery got the better of me. After 7 or 8 hours I finally double checked the forums for typical spawn locations a 2nd time. Probably searched a 500+ buildings, sheds (small, medium, large) to no avail. Came across 10 or so heli sites, all with minimal loot. Other Thoughts/Observations: Why does the Gas/Jerry can take up 30 slots? When did the 300 round ammo box get nerfed to just 4 slots? When did the hard plastic case change to take up 6 slots? Filling from one canteen to another is bugged with % full. Same goes for PET bottles. Chickens can scare the hell out of you if your not expecting them. Green oil barrels...too bad they aren't persistent, content-wise. AKM recoil is brutal, Kastan scope works well. MP5 with ACOG is a nice setup. Lootsplosions break the game from a survival perspective. Random game sounds seem a bit worse. Overall game play however is very good. I don't miss the 70 second respawn timer. I enjoy the night/day cycles. Land mines must be placed in your quick items to remove from inventory (took a while to figure that out). Back to the game... heading way North for that damn elusive truck battery. Be safe out there!

Funny thing about this one... there was also a teddy bear very close to this mine with a piece of paper in it. I thought no way, did someone actually leave a note, or warning? Nah, just blank piece of paper and I didn't have a pen either..meh.

Exp server's just went down... all of them. I noticed the TEST1 server had a new build with a few players on it. Must be something inbound soon. I can reconfirm that heli's are no longer static. Verified on three servers, found heli's in two different locations on one server and not the others. I apologize if that happened to be the mine I set in a couple lootsplosion locations. Seemed fitting at the time.

I speculate that the battery issue will be fixed in this latest update... 50/50 chance. Over/Under? Client update loaded...waiting on servers. Gotta shut her down for the day...heading out for the holiday festivities. Happy Independance Day!

Yep... :| They went down a few minutes ago. Though there is some activity on the locked Test 1 .58 server at the moment.

Just started playing after a bit of a break, had to check out Frontier's "alpha". I'm liking the progress on the AI, as well as the new content and have found it very refreshing these past couple of evenings having to play with a sense of urgency again. Not sure what's going on with this thread as of late though. To me anyways, it appears that the provided information / context of where we are at in its development is fundamentally being ignored. This however, as I've come to learn, is apparently typical...

I got bounced from a server this evening for apparently a high ping... I stand corrected. Saw another guy get kicked also, but his ping was 563. It looks like Battle Eye is doing the kicking, at least the one I noticed.

Well... i do have this shiny new Wii U upstairs for the grand daughters for xmas with Super Mario 3D World that's supposed to just rock! I'm thinking I may need to go "test" it. Ya know, just to make sure everything works ok.

Lost all my gear as well when the shenanigans started earlier before we knew what the hell was going on... Life's a bitch sometimes, ya know? No too melodramatic though as I really don't mind gearing back up at this point anymore because it's all in the hunt, for me anyways.

I was playing 0.52 Experimental last night on the AU/NZ server at 280ms so unless something changed in the last 12 hours I would say you shouldn't be having a problem at 180ms. My guess is that this setting is configurable on the private servers however, though I did not try any of them with a high ping.

FWIW, the change log for .52 list "Torch Crafting" under Game Mechanics as being added. I have not attempted to do so however.

Staring at the "please wait" message watching Battle Eye kicking every other player joining the server was interesting to watch. Multiple global bans, hundreds of .pbo files showing as having the wrong signature. Took 10 minutes to finally log into the game world, no loot, doors may or may not open, about 15 seconds of lag to open a door, more or less.

Anyone else a regular compass user? I got myself turned around several times this evening in a 3 hour session and swear the compass bearing was incorrect. I finally headed to the beach to run West on a predictable vector. -
