916 coming online...122.3MB inbound.
-
I've been running around all morning hopping fences with weapon in-hand and have not experienced this.
-
Also, I tried painting the barrel green, but apparently that is not a feature just yet.
-
Works perfectly...as we say in the engineering world, "meets design intent"! Anyone ever have a barrel in hand during a wipe? Curious if it's still there when back online...
-
Getting closer... at this point I think we all have a pretty good idea where we need to get to. Now just hoping the engine upgrade(s) provides the performance boost required to make it so.
-
Anyone else getting this error logging in? This is not new, just got around to posting it with an image.
-
I sure hope so... best way to thwart server hoppers. Make it irrelevant!

Put that shit back in my tent, dammit! Where were you all my life? Trying to figure out what to drop to take this 4th battery. Already dropped a 30rd, pristine scope MP5 for the 3rd. This is what DayZ has become. :D

I'd be curious to understand how the logic is defined for item spawns, locations, etc. as well, but suspect this to be the secret sauce. There appears to be a rotation occurring of items during different times of the day too. This makes some sense to me in that the world becomes more dynamic in nature, but can also detract from the immersive side depending on how you play. Marathon sessions for instance, how did "said" item end up in some spot that didn't have anything there before? From a project management perspective this becomes problematic. I don't envy the internal discussions that must occur to sort this balancing of survival elements that many of us enjoy versus pvp. Over time, the is going to shift and with it so does the balance of power within game. To balance this, I suspect the environment must be hostile enough to eliminate through attrition the longer you play. Premise being that eventually we all die. I'm ok with this personally to be honest. What fun is it once your king of the castle with no risk?

Hicks has said that there are loot table tweaks coming in during the rest of the week. One guess would be to test over the weekend and maybe look for a stable update next week. Although, with the infected infestation testing going on, they might be looking to bring that in as well prior to a move to stable. All in all, not a bad build by any means.

But we all need more cowbell!!! https://youtu.be/GCd0OjjCz88

Typical, first login after wipe earlier this evening spawning on the right coast, want to be on the west side of the map, entering my first shack. What do I find you ask? Nothing edible, but actually thought about carrying it with me anyways for the next hour... just sad.

For the Dev's... when exiting the game from the server list.
-
I'd post my in-game hours, but that would not be so good for my image.
-
What, no poison ivy on the back side? lame... lmao.
-
While I'm thinking of it, just exited and received the writing to memory error again. I'm going to assume this is not just me? Happens every time.
-
Fine...guess I'll go do some real life stuff then, bunch of crap. No worries!

Depends greatly on your GPU settings in-game. I'm running a 4GB R290x and with all the bells and whistles turned on, which is how I like things. The big cities will drop frame rates into the low 20's running high or very high rendering.

Waiting patiently for your video... I'm way up north at the moment. Not to be Capt. Obvious, but we need this infected performance issue addressed. Can't be having a real apocalypse without hoards chasing you half way across town.
-
I believe this to also be related to the issue with jumping over fences and such...
-
It's been on and off for all of .58. Also, odd bug with crouching at times where you should tap the same key to stand back up but no response. Sometimes it works, others not so much.
-
There's something other than 1PP? Sorry, sarcasm... my bad.
-
Dammit, I think my dude is turning... I inadvertently remained logged in last night and look what is happening. Or, it could be from holding that damn Jerry can all night long...

Regarding the performance hit on the GD test servers, has it been determined to be a client - server issue or possible bottle necking on the local machine due to high cpu/gpu utilization? I'm logging in now to see for myself, but though I'd ask. Having a fairly robust PC, I typically don't have the latter.

The persistence issue with tents is a bit disappointing as I enjoy camp building. On the other hand, here are a few good points to ponder...
